Wei Wuxian laughs as if it’s a joke, although the man’s stony expression makes it clear that any humor gleaned from him is likely unintentional.
“Well, uh, I appreciate your,” Wei Wuxian says, “you know, time, but everything is under control here, actually.”
With impeccable timing, a tea-kettle sound keens from the kitchen, followed by a contained bang.

"I won't let them separate us." Zhou Zishu gritted his teeth and got off the horse with Wen Kexing's cold body in his arms. As he walked towards the cliff, memories flashed in his mind. Memories of their wedding, memories of Wen Kexing's glowing face under the crimson veil and how it turned ashen, his black eyes full of light and how it dimmed with years.
As the arrow that shot from one of the soldiers' bows pierced his back, Zhou Zishu fell with his arm full of Wen Kexing. As he fell he didn't let go of that person even once.
If I get a second chance, then I will cherish you. If I get to live again I will love you and you only and no one else.

Summary
Zhou Zishu is ready to be done with Tian Chuang. He's ready for his seventh nail, and ready to wander before facing his eighty one brothers with a bowed head in the afterlife. He will do this after, apparently, one last mission that's simply too intriguing to pass up.
The Ghost Valley has sent a letter past its borders, asking to attend the Heroes Conference of the Five Lakes Alliance. The Five Lakes Alliance, unbelievably, has accepted. Both no doubt have hidden intentions, and Prince Jin wants eyes and ears on the scene. Zhou Zishu can't quite bring himself to deny his own ravenous curiosity enough not to accept.
The stunning beauty that shows up with the girls of the Department of the Unfaithful, the one who introduces himself as Wen Kexing, is universally assumed to be a favorite plaything of the yet unseen Ghost Valley Master. His beauty and charm may be enough to captivate all the others into underestimating him, but Zhou Zishu knows a killer's eyes when he sees one. Wen Kexing is a puzzle he'd like to figure out, and Zishu himself can't say he isn't also captivated by dark eyes and a smile that wouldn't be out of place with blood in its teeth.

Summary
In order to wage war against his brother Prince Jin seeks aid from the Demon Chief of Qingya Mountain, an immortal known for commanding legions of ghosts and devils and terrorizing the human world. To test Prince Jin's commitment the Master of Qingya demands the sacrifice of someone invaluable, of royal blood, and possessing great beauty. Zhou Zishu answers this demand. It does not go as he expects.
Pressed into becoming the Demon Lord's bride, Zhou Zishu is determined to make this wrinkle work to his advantage in order to eliminate the threat Qingya and the ghosts pose to all humans. This proves to be easier said than done when he finds himself assigned the enigmatic Wen Kexing as a body guard; between warming his new husband's bed at night and dealing with the clingy Wen Kexing during the day, Zhou Zishu is left little time to learn of Qingya and the potential weaknesses of it's master.
