“Make no mistake however, I could care less about what you all think of me.” His glare returned, yet his attempt at intimidation faltered. “It’s simply in my best interest to be careful.” The last part was much quieter, it was easily missable– drowned in the flickering lights and the light static of the air conditioner.
Yet Makoto still caught it. “Then, why did you do it?” Makoto said, voice cracking slightly. He took in a shaky breath, chest lighting up with fire. “Would it not have been in your best interest to not do anything at all? By doing something like that in front of everyone, letting a serial killer on the loose, would you not have just increased the chance of your own death?”

Summary
One day, Atsushi wakes up to find Dazai visiting him early in the morning, then tells him that they must go on a mission together far away from Yokohama.
Little does he know the real reason of their misterious journey.
Or.
"Atushi-kun..." Dazai stared before himself, with a rather blank expression.
"I came over this early today, because..."He was stuck for a second. Atsushi just waited patiently for him to continue.
“…because we have to travel for a mission together,” continued Dazai as his mood changed to a very excited one.
“Together?” Atsushi asked in surprise.
“Just the two of us?”"Exactly, only you and me," the brunet snapped out from his chair enthusiastically.
"I came over so early..." Dazai stepped in front of Atsushi as the younger boy leaned back a bit from his sudden move.
".. because I was way too excited," he grinned as he leaned even closer to the other boy’s face."I couldn't even sleep," appeared a mischievous grin on Dazai’s face as the younger boy felt like there was less air in the room than before…
[The story takes place after the end of season 3]
