A fun story of happily married Polin, spending time with the family, and falling into the usual Bridgerton chaos we know and love.Continuing with where Season 3 left before the epilogue, this story would be a slight AU, since we will have some differences in the location and situations the characters will go through.

“How will I figure out how to get away?”
“You can…” Colin searched for an answer, “take self defense lessons. Or get a bat to keep in here! But you’re also tiny, Pen… So that’s why it’s important that your mum knows now that he shouldn’t be here!”
“Lessons cost money, and it would be a stranger! A bat could do little if I can’t get to it, Colin,” she said his name scoldingly, “It’s great my mum knows, sure. But I need to know I can get away!”
“I’ll pay for lessons,” he offered.
“I want to do this now! Come at me,” she demanded.
“No!”
She stomped her little foot and yelled up at him, “I said, ‘now’, goddamnit!”

After 5 years Penelope comes back into the Bridgerton’s lives, but she’s changed. The confident, feisty, young woman she’d fought hard to be is hidden under a silent, careful, compliant ruse. Can the love of the Bridgertons and some self defense lessons with Colin bring her back and undo the damage caused by her long-term ex boyfriend?

Summary
A slow-burn canon twist starting from the first time Colin notices Debling noticing Penelope, setting off a lot of feelings he realizes were always trying to dig their way out of his denial. Pen is courting with the eye to marry well and keep her career, Colin is in love so big it is only dwarfed by the accompanying trouble, and Debling is not the only rival suitor. Lots of inclusion of Featherington and Bridgerton family members as the spectacle becomes a debacle with the goal of a wedding. WIP, not always that serious, and sometimes smutty/angsty.
