“I think the lady said It was one bay over?”
Lando drops his head on the table. “Mate,” he exhales, forehead pressed to the wood “I cannot believe we are travelling to some random-as-fuck beach campsite because the lady in the supermarket line recommended it”
“She was a nice lady, Lando” Carlos chides, “old people know things.”
“Of course we’re trusting beach advice from an ancient stranger in the supermarket queue. That’s totally normal.”Or, the one where best friends Carlos and Lando travel to an isolated beach in New Zealand on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to cure Carlos’s quarter life crisis and maybe even find a bit of love along the way.

Summary
Never in all his days has he thought himself less strong of stomach than the ladies of his court, but never in all his days has he watched a strong, graceful creature be taunted unto its end. The men of Spain who spoke a small amount of his native tongue had tried assuring him that this ‘spectacle’ was indeed a ritual of bull worship, something to celebrate the ferocity of nature and man’s dominion over it. Lando only feels dominion over his nausea as he swallows down something detestable. It is snuffed out with swift intent, however, when he looks up again to see the Matador looking straight at him.
The Matador is the most exceptional man Lando has seen to date, by a margin larger than one end of his vast country estate to the other. He struts, cocksure and elegant with his fine clothes and finer features, large doe eyes locked on him.

Lando was still peacefully asleep when Carlos walked into the bedroom to toe off his shoes and replace them with some fuzzy socks. He leaned over the bed and pushed back some of his curls to press a kiss to his forehead. He stayed still this time, only scrunching up his nose before burrowing a little deeper.
The blinky red lights on the clock read 10:02 now. Carlos supposed he could let Lando sleep a little bit longer. But he missed him.

He inspected his hand, peeling back the blood-soaked cloth to check the wound. Lando, watching him intently, suddenly seemed to remember something. His breath hitched as he rifled through his jacket pockets. Carlos raised an eyebrow, and then Lando pulled out a small band-aid, holding it out.
Carlos stared at it. It was pink with tiny hearts.
Of course it was.
“For you, obviously, idiot,” Lando said, smiling as if reading Carlos’s thoughts.
Carlos looked at the band-aid and then back at him. This wasn’t going to end well.
This was never going to end well. And one of them, maybe both, was going to get hurt. Carlos, ever selfless despite his flaws, silently wished that if anyone had to suffer, it would be him.

Lando un-wound the camera from around his neck, pushing the clutter on the desk to the side to put the case down. He looked out the window for the last time and then collapsed into the bed.
He promptly fell asleep.
Through the thick fog of his sticky eyes trying to part, the bell tolled. Lando laid there, listening to it. He then listened to the footsteps climbing the stairs. The turning of the doorknob. And the pause of the footsteps.
Lando peeled his eyes open.
He was greeted with the bare, wet, torso of a very tan, very hairy, handsome man whose very nice arms were crossed over his chest.
Or, Carlos Sainz's family had always hosted foreign students during the summer.
Carlos had never been too fond of the intruders.
Now that he has grown up and moved out, he visits home only to find an enticing young man asleep in his bed.
