Summary
Kasuga Ichiban is, for lack of a better term, merfolk. He does not know why, he does not know how. All he knows is that one moment, he was a pirate like any other, sailing under Captain Arakawa in the Tojo fleet, and the next he was like this. The once Dread Captain Zhao Tianyou can empathise. Once, he had a ship, a crew, a life on the open seas. Now, mutinied against, abandoned on an uncharted island, he, too, is left to build up from rock bottom.
The island is home to other outcasts, people who have been spit back up by the ocean, left to survive on nothing but salt and sand. Will they be able to overcome tragedy, treachery and tempests? Will they be able to return to their loved ones, or find new ones? The sea is not a kind mistress, but she often has a way of guiding lost things home.
A fantasy pirate/merfolk AU very (very) loosely based off of the events of Like a Dragon/Yakuza 7, with a heavy sprinkling of ichizhao for good measure. Updates are scheduled for every Monday. Happy Mermay!

It's not the most original storyline, or the most developed character building that they've ever encountered, but it's probably the hottest. Scratch that. (immediate follow-up from Easily stupid, stupidly easy)
After sleeping together, Zhao, Joongi and Kasuga are left to navigate the somewhat fragile moments that follow. Despite the night being everything they want (and more importantly, need) - nothing is ever perfect, and life always has its highs and lows. They do their best to look after one other. Bleeding hearts don't heal overnight, but cleaning them and wrapping them in safe, warm bindings is a good first step.
Key features: small bits of aftercare, Kasuga being clingy despite Joongi's obvious avoidant habits, Zhao still feeling the effects of the Liumang coup and subsequent torture, sleepy boys!! soft boys!! sad boys!!, cuddling!!!!!!!!

Ichiban hummed, pulling back a little, cheeks tinted pink.
“Oh I– what do you want to do?”
“I'm asking what you'd like because it's your birthday, and I want to treat you.”
Zhao hopped up on the counter, spreading his legs so he could stand between them. He pulled him even closer and like this, Ichiban had to tilt his head up a little to look at him.
Ichiban thought about it, while Zhao picked up the piping bag again, squeezing frosting into his mouth, offering some to Ichiban too who was happy to take it, licking his lips happily.
“What I really like is– well it's pleasing you. Is what I like.”~It's Ichiban's birthday and he is just such a good boy

Summary
Kasuga has had plenty of experiences. Zhao decides to offer him another. Kasuga heartily accepts it, even if it might be a mistake. On the other hand, Zhao and Joongi have made plenty of mistakes. Some they made willingly, some, they didn’t. Some they regret, others, they don't. The choices all three of them make, good and bad, lead them to a night at Zhao’s apartment, making yet another decision; this time, altogether, in Zhao's bed.
They are very much willing to go through with it, though. And none of them ever plan on regretting it.
Key features: Kasuga and Zhao getting together for the first time, ichizhao friends with benefits, zhaohan being messy, Kasuga wanting a poly relationship but not having the exact terminology to express it, and most importantly, trans Zhao Tianyou my beloved
