Summary
Michael absentmindedly opens the window, not at all thinking about the consequences that could arise from allowing David, of all people, into his room.
A breeze picks up, coming along in through the window with the vampire. Michael shivers at the sudden burst of cold air. It’s not winter, but Santa Carla, California, being a beach town, isn’t the warmest.
David plants his dirty, thankfully not bloody, boots on his wooden floor, with a small thud.
“Good evening, Michael,” David greets, pleasant as fuck, like he came to the front door instead flying through Michael’s bedroom window.

David sighs, like this is trivial. “Doesn’t mean I don’t still have feelings.”
Michael’s head starts to hurt, and he didn’t know he could get a headache in his dreams. “Aren’t you dead?”
David blows out a long, steady stream of smoke. “Not sure why you’re asking me. We’re in your head, aren’t we?”
“So this is just a dream?” Something about David feels so real. Like Michael could reach out and touch him, feel the cool surface of his skin. For some reason, he can’t bring himself to do it.
