Summary
Hyunjin looks back at his work with the critical eye of a painter - checking the blending, the color, and the overall composition, and makes a mental note of what’s missing. And then he looks at the actual subject and something murky and ambivalent nudges him in the chest.
He’s painting Felix. The reference photo is from their recent fan meeting in July, and Felix is crying - eyes glassy and vulnerable, tears building at the corners and spilling freely down his face, nose red and swollen with emotion, lips turned down into a trembling grimace.
The next day at dance practice, his eyes linger. When Felix notices and holds his gaze, Hyunjin realizes that the ache is there again, quiet and private and mixed with something that feels like longing. He wonders vaguely if, right now, the feelings are shared.
