It played out in flashes. Blinding red light. Bodies across the field, an array of blues and yellows covering them. A scenic forest clearing turned battlefield. sat in the middle of it all was Warren, skin tinged a somewhat familiar perrywinkle, scarlet blood covering his wings. It wasn't all his. A man stood, snarling down at him. The man had muddy grey skin with piercing red eyes. He might have heard the man say something, but the ringing in his head blocked it from his conscious thoughts. Without resistance Warren passed out against the mossy ground.

Summary
After a long day of feeling like he's done nothing but let his niece down, and still weighed down by the trauma of his brother's death that led to him being her guardian in the first place, Castiel takes her to the park in an attempt to salvage the day. There, he finds Dean Winchester with his daughter Emma.
While Emma and Claire play, Dean and Castiel watch them from the ancient swing set and get caught up in their own conversation. Something about Dean has Castiel opening up to him, and the two bond over ranting about Valentine's Day, sharing their jobs, and slowly realizing they understand what the other's been through in the past.
(Featuring a surprise visit to the hospital, awkwardness and insecurity, glitter pens as swords, and Jody Mills being the best damn friend you could ask for)

A one-shot Weechester fic. John Winchester has left his sons with Pastor Jim. Dean has to go to school, when he'd rather stay home and look after his brother.
When Dean wasn’t here, Sammy didn’t do much of anything. He’d only crawl about when his brother was close by. And even though he couldn’t walk yet, he could stand up and lean against stuff, and move along, holding on for balance. Dean had overheard Mrs Simmons and one of the other churchy ladies talking, saying Sam was a ‘late developer’ and that he should be doing all kinds of stuff by now. Well, that was just crap. There was nothing wrong with Sammy. He could do all kinds of stuff, he just didn’t do it when they were around.
