    Orin Mesova was supposed to have a simple job. Cook food for aliens once, then never interact with aliens ever again. Then, his food made them cry. And howl. And scream in euphoria. And now they want him to keep cooking for them.

    Orin and his coworkers whisk eggs, chop veggies, and season meat for their new unusual benefactors, desperately serving as humanity's first intergalactic impression. Along the way, they'll learn more about themselves, their new universal neighbors, and the nature of food and culture on our world and beyond. Every meal they cook and every story they coax out of an alien paints part of a portrait of interplanetary politicking and scheming, with food serving as the only key capable of untangling this centuries-old web.

    And, somewhere along the way, they might form bonds with some of these aliens. Unapproved, government-prohibited bonds.

    Octavia Vale had a problem. For her entire life, pokemon have reacted to her presence with unease at best, and outright hostility at worst. To them, she seemed to exist in the Uncanny Valley, something about her just subtly "off" in an unidentifiable way. She wanted nothing more than to have the opportunity to travel and befriend pokemon like anyone else, but it was never safe to do so. This was not a problem shared by Taylor, her identical twin. Octavia was sure that if she could just figure out what the difference between them was, then she could fix it and finally follow her dreams.

    Unfortunately for both of them, she did. The difference was that Octavia wasn't human. She never had been.

    Octavia Vale was an Imposter. A Ditto that had transformed into a perfect copy of Taylor as an infant and never changed back. A Ditto who could mimic the human form and had learned human speech to a degree almost unheard of for its species. A Ditto that no shortage of criminal enterprises would pay any price to capture and exploit.

    Taylor Vale never wanted to be a trainer, but to protect her inhuman sister, she was willing to try anything. Even if it meant capturing and training Octavia herself.

    Reid finally did it. He completed 100% of Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon. Every connection, every treasure, maxed out rank, all of it was done. Satisfied of his achievement, he decided that this was a fitting end to enjoying the series. However, the universe had other plans for him, and he found himself unwillingly taking the place of his fully evolved starter in a world he thought he knew everything about.

    From dealing with relationships he’s never truly had to living in a body that both was and wasn’t his, how will he deal with the consequences he inadvertently created?

    Things have never been easy for the Animorphs, and for Rachel and Tobias, that had been doubly true as of late. They needed a break. Either a lucky break where they finally get an edge over the Yeerks in their desperate war, or even just a vacation. They'd settle for either at this point. And so, when the Ellimist approaches the two of them with an offer from a being living in another universe, one that could drastically shift the balance of power in their favor, it doesn't take much for them to accept.

    Disaster looms in Lumiose City, and an incursion from their reality aims to exploit that disaster to threaten the entire world. Tasked with averting this, Rachel and Tobias must navigate a strange new universe, one filled with fantastical new creatures to befriend and become, where bonds forged in battle mean everything.

    It seems perfect for them, almost too good to be true. And for the Animorphs, that usually means it is.

    I haven't enjoyed a story this much in a long time. I haven't even read Animorphs since I was a kid, and I'm having a blast. Can't wait to read more.
