Summary
Like a deer caught in headlights, Jungkook is frozen, stammering for a few seconds. “I—I don’t—I’m sorry,” he rambles out, before something in his demeanor shifts, mouth pressed firmly shut. Yoongi stares at him for a couple of seconds, unnerved, then goes back to dusting off the scrapes on his palms. “Aren’t you supposed to be on the ship?”
“Aren’t you?” Yoongi shoots back, rubbing his sore jaw, readjusting his backpack. He glares up at Jungkook’s stature, slouched in the middle of the sidewalk. There’s no way he’s stuck in Athens, too. “I got lost with no service. You shouldn’t have an excuse.”
“I’m not allowed to get lost either?”
“You’re a rich idol with an international phone plan.”
“Hey—”
(or; Min Yoongi is forced on a European cruise through the Mediterranean with his friends, only to get stranded in Athens with his ex-almost-groupmate: Idol singer Jeon Jungkook. It’s not exactly the relaxing vacation he was hoping for.)

Summary
“You’re awake,” Yoongi says, when he finally looks up. He sets the plastic bag on the counter and wears this awkward half-smile on his face, like he isn’t quite sure if he’s happy to see Namjoon. It’s an unusual look when normally, Yoongi has trouble hiding how enthusiastic he is to see Namjoon. “I thought you might sleep in today.”
The concept of sleeping past eight a.m. is a figment of Namjoon’s imagination. “I couldn’t fall back asleep,” he says, joining Yoongi in the kitchen to finish making his coffee.
Silence settles between them, brittle and taut. There’s something amiss in the air. Namjoon racks his brain trying to figure out what it could be.
(or; Namjoon is swimming in the darkness, overworked and anxious, until Yoongi reminds him what he truly values in life.)

Summary
“Why didn’t you say that your ex is the lead actress?” Jungkook asks, maybe a bit harsh. He jabs a finger at the papers scattered on the coffee table. “I had to find out like this.”
“What?” Yoongi laughs, the worry slipping off his face. He sips his wine and pulls his knees closer to his chest, still looking for something in Jungkook’s expression. Jungkook hopes he isn’t letting his nastiness shine through too clearly. “That’s why you’re so worked up?”
“You’re working with your ex-girlfriend,” Jungkook says, annoyed, trying to shove Yoongi off when his hands come close to pull him away from the coffee table. He ends up going anyway, sitting upright with a huff. Heat starts creeping up his neck when he realizes that Yoongi is laughing. “Stop! It’s not funny.”
“It’s a little funny,” Yoongi says softly, pinching Jungkook’s waist affectionately. “You’re cute.”
(or; Jungkook’s intense jealousy spirals out of control when Yoongi begins working with his ex-girlfriend. He never expected it to get this bad.)

Summary
“Hyung,” a very disappointed, whiny call comes from outside of Yoongi’s headphones. The headphones are the only way to block out the wind.
His injured ankle is resting precariously on a footstool beneath his desk. A file is open on the monitor screen, but frankly, Yoongi hasn’t gotten any work finished since he came home from the physical therapy clinic this morning. All he did was sleep with his boyfriend tucked close. They drifted off together, and Yoongi wiggled out of his loose grip to escape into his home studio.
“Hyung,” Jungkook repeats, closer this time. Right behind him, probably. His hands rest gently on Yoongi’s shoulders before he slides the headphones off. He sets them on Yoongi’s desk and presses a soft kiss to his forehead. “You shouldn’t be out of bed.”
(or; While on bed rest for a minor injury, Yoongi struggles to give himself purpose again. Luckily, Jungkook is right there to hold him.)

Ilya is not a dick. Not always. Only when he really wants to be.
“I get worried when you’re like this.”
“You will have panic attack, Hollander.”
“Ilya.” Shane rolls into him and buries his face into Ilya’s chest. Ilya leans down to take a long breath of his damp hair. Being close to him should be enough. Isn’t it enough? “I’m serious. I notice things.”
(or; Ilya is fucking depressed again. The only person who helps is Shane.)

"No m'not," Shane said, somehow pressing his face even more into Ilya's body. "All I ever did was play hockey. Now, I don't know what I'm gonna do. I hope we have a baby soon."
The car went quiet at that. When Shane looked up, Ilya was looking out the window, jaw set.
"S' something wrong?" Shane asked. He ran his fingertips along the warm skin of Ilya's forearm.
Ilya turned back to face him, expression softened. Whatever pensiveness had taken hold of him was gone.
"No. Everything is perfect."
After sixteen seasons of professional hockey, Shane Hollander retires from the NHL in the interest of starting a family with his loving husband. It's maybe a little earlier than he would've liked, but with his thirty-five year old knees beginning to protest, it makes sense.
He's happy. He and Ilya have been working towards this for nearly a decade.
He's also terrified, wondering if this is the biggest mistake of his life, and thinking that maybe he should take it all back. But mostly, he's happy.

Shane is cut off by a hand on his mouth. He flushes.
“Too fast,” Ilya says. “My English… not good.”
“Sorry,” Shane mumbles into Ilya’s hand. Ilya grins and shakes his head, curls dancing, as he pulls his hand away.
“Is okay. Slow words. Okay?”
This year marks thirteen year Shane Hollander's third summer at Coach Marakov's elite hockey training camp. In attendance for the first time: Ilya Rozanov, visiting from Russia. Shane isn't the most sociable, and Ilya's English isn't the greatest, yet the unlikely duo soon become the best of friends.
It's just one summer, but it makes a world of difference.
