Summary
Dave has just killed his brother with newfound magic that allows him to access a strange world Rose calls Derse. The problem? He might become stuck in Derse if he doesn't get a handle on the magic.
Karkat, having received generations worth of knowledge about magic from his family, just wants to keep idiots like Dave from being consumed by it. Summary
After Karkat's partner from his class finds out it's his wriggling day, he insists that Karkat come out to a gay club to see him play music for the first time in public.
Despite his reluctance to leave his home, Karkat has a surprisingly good time. Unfortunately, it comes at the cost of realizing that, of all the people in the club, he's definitely into the straight DJ who invited him out.
As they grow closer as friends, Karkat is horrified to find his feelings just become worse (and messier.) Luckily, Dave isn't as not into Karkat as he seems.

He fidgeted with his hands, aware of how small and jittery he must seem compared to the composed, intimidating man across the table. Kageyama was exactly what he’d requested from the model agency: tall, handsome, and dark. But he hadn’t anticipated just how… scowly the model would be.
The silence between them stretched unbearably, and just as Hinata opened his mouth to try and break the tension, Kageyama’s voice cut in, as blunt as a hammer.
