Hawks should never have had any pack (or should he say flock?) cravings.
That’s only natural because Keigo Takami has never experienced family or just belonging to a group of people that he could call that. He’s done some terrible things too, most recently to his friend, a companion of his alpha, so he’s on the right track to being a terrible father – as genetics would suggest as well. He always assumed he would never feel the need for something he couldn’t understand in the slightest.
And consciously, he didn’t.
So, in his defense, he never even thought he could lock a knot.

Dabi is desperate. Alone. He's staring up at the stars in another part of a countryside that he's lost count of, the fields stretching for kilometers.
Out here, it's scenic and serene. But it is not Hawks.
Dabi runs himself dry across Japan chasing after the memory of Hawks who was never accounted for after the war.
Because if he doesn't find Hawks, who will? Dabi won't let Hawks become a cold case.

Silence.
Jabber looks at Zanka. Zanka looks at Jabber.
This whole conversation feels like bumping into a wall because you weren’t paying attention, too busy yelling at Rudo for setting you on fire again: a hard stop. Zanka, despite himself, can't help but wonder what’s on the other side.
“Okay, then.” With a seriousness that is almost (definitely) unsettling, Jabber slowly pulls his hand from Zanka’s grasp.
“Okay?”
Or; To be loved is to be changed. Nobody ever said it had to be for the better.

Zanka is tasked with keeping Jabber from running too wild in his new position with the cleaners. Jabber is a ball of excess manic energy. Daily fights are a little unsustainable when there are trash beasts to be defeated on a moment’s notice.
And since their relationship has been evolving, it's a no brainer. Jabber is a masochist. Zanka has a dominant streak. Easy peasy. It shouldn’t be too different from all the times before.
Except, as usual, Zanka is a fucking wild card. Sex never felt hazy or vulnerable like this with any of the strangers that make up Jabber’s sexual history. Jabber is used to pain, but treated with roughness and care in equal measure is new and very disarming.

Summary
Zanka always held his head high, when on the battlefield- he was regarded with strength and logical analysis that Rudo wished to one day achieve.
When relaxing in the cleaners headquarters, Zanka seemed just as uptight- strung tightly as if one wrong move would have him kicked out to the poisoned lands of No-Mans land.
But, as Rudo’s stay at headquarters became longer and longer, he noticed the small reprieves Zanka gave himself. The days he would relax his shoulders, reluctantly ask for help, and seemingly crowd around his pack.
Rudo had never been in a proper pack. As much as he loved Regto, he wouldn’t call what they had an actual pack. Enjin and Riyo had said they already think of him as part of their pack- but it was ultimately up to Zanka to bring him in.
He was just waiting for that.

“Onee-sama?” Zanka’s voice was a whisper, hesitant as she clutched her study notes to her chest. Kyouka didn’t look up from her scroll, quill pausing mid stroke. “What is it, Zanka? I’m busy.”
Zanka shuffled closer, her bare feet whispering against the mats. “Can I… sit with ya? While I study? The common room is too noisy, and Goka-nii is practicin’ his forms outside. He said I should come to Kyouka if I needed quiet.”
