After Molly Weasley reports shocking abuse on the part of Petunia and Vernon Dursley, Albus Dumbledore makes an official decision to Turn A Blind Eye. After all, the Dursleys *are* the key to Harry's Blood Wards. Though McGonagall is appalled, she is ultimately unwilling to take a stand against Albus.
Enraged at this dual neglect, Severus Snape decides to take matters into his own hands. Little does he know that his attempts to modify Harry's Blood Wards will result in *accidentally adopting* The Boy Who Lived. Shocked and horrified, Severus is left with no choice but to move forward as best he can. After all, there's no use crying over spilled potions. . .
This fic is set just after the Weasley siblings rescue Harry from the barred window/canned soup/cat flap situation in Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets. It is broadly inspired by many of my favorite Snape/Harry Adoption Fics, which I have gathered into the collection Snape_Harry_FoundFamily. Thanks, all y'all, for creating such delightful fics.

Summary
Harry and Draco are entering their second year with a new Defence professor, new friends, and a journal that gives Harry an odd feeling when he touches it and can't be translated into braille.
The adults are working on their many plans. Remus is hunting for answers in Godric's Hollow. Lucius to swaying the Wizengamot to his side, Narcissa is on the hunt for a Dark Lord, and Severus is just trying to prevent a repeat of last year at Hogwarts.

Getting the feeling that there was no need to respond to the letter, he pondered on how he was going to get his school supplies./
