Asami was working in her workshop when everything changed. Korra had stayed to keep her company, strangely silent. She should have known that she had something in mind, her wife was never so quiet, not even with broken ribs and painkillers.
"Honey ..."
"Mhm?"
"I was thinking…"
"Mhm…"
"Well ... have you ever thought about having a child?"
Asami dropped the wrench he was holding. She must have heard wrong.
"What did you say?" she asked in a low voice.
Korra looked embarrassed, “A child. Me and you. Wouldn't that be great?"
"I'm pretty sure it's not physically possible."
“Not in that sense. But… adoption. There are many children without families. We could give it to them. "

Korra loves the life she has with her wife. But she thinks that an addition to the family could give something more. Asami, for her part, is not convinced that she is parent material.
