Summary
Phase One of the Mars project is well underway as the colony approaches its one year anniversary. John, Will and the rest of the crew are confident that when the first group of settlers arrive, everything will be ready for them. But disaster strikes in the form of a dust storm and their confidence quickly evaporates as they battle first the effects of the storm, then their own frustrations and self-confidence. Will the new year bring more frustration and failure, or will they win out over the tenacious red planet?

Series: Sher Trek Pilot Miniseries by CaresaToland
perfect fusion of BBC Sherlock with Star Trek: The Original Series;
perfect mix of the Sherlock characters with their ST:TOS counterparts;
ST:TOS episodes are: "The Devil in The Dark" + "Operation - Annihilate!" + "Spock's Brain" + "Amok Time" + "Mirror Mirror"
Sh'lok's construction of his Mind Palace is very creative and gives a nod to the The Hobbit movies;
even "Spock's Brain" is bearable here and has a meaningful payoff near the end;
Slow Burn: John and Sh'lok get together in #4 "Amok Sign";
one of the longest -- if not the longest -- sex scenes I've ever read, which is not only hot but contains truly non-heteronormative (Vulcan) views and humour/playfullness at the same time;
the last chapter of the last story, "The Mirrored Vow", is sadly still missing;
