Season 1 is Violet's story, about a capable sapphic girl in over her head, and an Affini that knows exactly what to do about it. Calderia loves Violet deeply, and will do anything for her. She gives the girl the freedom to thrive in the Compact, but equally enjoys taking it away.
Season 2 is Renne's story, where she comes to terms with life as an independent citizen of the Affini Compact. See her struggles and celebrations along the way to finding her place in a strange world where anything is possible.

Some technology was too dangerous to let fall into the hands of the public but he wasn't going to waste such a perfect tool, especially when it seemed his Sidekick was in need of an attitude adjustment. It wasn't immoral to help Robin become a better man was it? It was so stressful and dangerous being a vigilante wasn't it his duty to grant his sidekick a bit of pure obedient bliss now and then? And wasn't he, as a kind and caring Master, entitled to enjoy himself a little too?

Pomni didn't know what Jax and Ragatha's reactions were—Jax had left the moment the AI said the word "sex" and Ragatha had left after the word "npc." She hadn't asked the next time she saw them because... quite honestly, she didn't want to know. Kinger had patiently listened to Caine explain the mechanics of it all and then politely declined—he didn't want to imagine being with anyone other than his wife, and that ship had already sailed years ago.
As for Pomni herself...
Well.

An ablation study aims to determine the contribution of a component to an AI system by removing the component, and then analyzing the resultant performance of the system.
Deleting Caine was not the plan. And his absence led to a whole set of new problems, ranging from the destabilization of the Amazing Digital Circus to a more murderous AI trying to take control of the mainframe. Retrieving him was a matter of practicality. They might not trust him and were definitely wary of him, but his presence was their only way to survive.
Knowing that the humans that you love and desperately want to make happy instead fear and hate you (for admittedly good reasons) and only brought you back because they have no choice was not the best feeling for an AI never designed to handle emotions in the first place. It would be much better to only keep the parts that they need and discard the rest.
