A random chat gives the Doctor an opportunity to show off to her friend, and she takes Yaz to visit an important milestone in the future of human space travel. But when the two of them arrive to find someone else entirely in charge of the expedition, it’s up to them to figure out what’s going on and set things right…

They had just returned to their ship after an enlightening discussion with a rather formidable group of rebel leaders. Truth be told, the four of them had been suspicious of the Retagholian royals’ claim to power ever since they’d set foot on the forest planet.
What was life without dabbling in a little treason?
So yes; they were crashing a royal ball.
Taking place about a year before 'Not a Bad Date' starts, Yaz struggles to contemplate why she feels so unnerved about a simple dance.
(The 'Revolution' angle is very much set-dressing, and not a seriously thought-through plot, so don't read if you're looking for a proper adventure fic)
