Cool World has always struck me as one of those rare cases of a brilliant idea with a messy execution. A world of hand‑drawn life, neon noir, and Toon logic should’ve been something bold and unforgettable. Instead, it became a film better known for what it could have been than what it was allowed to be.
This project isn’t about rewriting the movie.
It’s about exploring the idea — the one that got buried under studio decisions and compromises and the executive meddling. I love Toons, I love hand‑drawn animation, and I believe animation is a medium capable of depth, emotion, and adult storytelling. That’s the spirit I’m working from.
I’m not promising perfection.
I’m not promising a definitive version.
Heck, I can’t even promise full completion.
I’m just here to give this world the time, care, and imagination it never got the first time around.
