“Nothin’ to be sorry for. Nothin’ to be ashamed of. Heart wants what heart wants and all that.” Engie nods to his own words, then pushes up with elbows on the table and stands. Strides closer.
“Never meant tae be a traitor.” He’s quieter here. Can’t hide behind ‘better’ words, ‘better’ pronunciations.
Engie winces at it, but nods. “I’m…sure you’ve got your reasons. You told me about several of them. Not that I fully understood, mind you. But I had a pretty good idea.”
“Ya don’t hate me? I’d hate ya hatin’ me again.” His accent begins to strengthen as he feels relief wash through his drunken body. Engie isn’t acting angry, upset, or anything like that.
Engie shrugs. “Never did, but it’s the past anyway. Trust you with my life, you know it?”
“Aye, me to you too.” Demo steps closer. “So relieved, hearing it. I think…think I’m gettin’ over the feelin’s, they just keep washing up.”

Scout's not afraid of the dark. That would be the most ridiculous, childish, embarrassing thing to ever have to live with or admit to, especially while camping in the woods with his team. He was a grown-ass man. It's what could be in the dark that freaks him out.
Unfortunately for him, Spy needs a can opener, and Sniper's van isn't parked very close.

The patch was the usual giant red cross that was used to symbolize the Medic, but also included on the patch were two stylized wings that obviously came from the Scout’s Hermes inspired symbol.

The fusion can’t help but be fascinated by it. It was interesting to see the parts of himself that came from the Medic, and what parts of himself were clearly the Scout’s influence. It was even more fascinating to see how the parts of them mixed together to make something entirely new. It was hard to not be amazed about how they blended together to make him. All too aware of the small audience that he had staring at him the fusion gave them all a cocky grin and a lazy salute.“Yo, what’s up?” He asked.
He doesn’t get an answer to that question. Instead, he just hears the Spy mumble in disbelief.
“Scout fused with the Medic?”
“Yep,” The Sniper confirms.
“And he seems to have the Scout’s personality.”
“Looks like it,” Sniper says.
“Oh mon Dieu,” The Spy said in a tone of voice that made it sound like he had just heard that the world was ending rather than hearing that Scout had fused with the Medic.
“You say all of that like it’s a bad thing,” The fusion teases although he can’t help but feel a tiny bit irritated as well.
The Spy made it sound like his existence was somehow bad. There was no way that such a thing could be true. He could just feel the Medic and Scout agree with him. Being him felt fantastic, and nothing that felt this good could be a bad thing. The fusion let that thought drift away for the moment. He had a job to do, so it wouldn’t do to get distracted.
As he pulled out two Medi-Guns to heal Sniper and Pyro he heard Demoman ask “So what exactly should we call you, lad?”
“Don’t know,” The fusion answered. “Some part of me wants to go with the name Asclepius, but that is just the Medic part of me speaking.”
He rather liked the name although who wouldn’t like being named after a Greek god of healing? Then again another part of him thought it sounded more like a name that the Medic would give to one of his birds. Of course the Medic tended to give his birds the names of ancient Greek mathematicians or philosophers and not gods. Although, Medic did own a rather klutzy dove named Icarus so it was pretty clear that the man had no issues with dipping into Greek mythology for name inspiration.
‘Getting distracted again,’ The fusion thought as he quickly pulled himself away from his thoughts about names and Medic's birds, and went back to the task at hand.
He pointed his Medi-Guns at his two injured teammates and smirked as he said “If it matters to any of you the Scout part of me thinks the name Quick Heal would be much more fitting.”

Not fault of his, certainly. No, the real issue was the fact that there was only so much he could do with what limitations and odd restrictions he had to deal with. While he didn’t fully understand why his employers had barred him from continuing to perfect his new Medi-Gun’s ÜberCharge, he knew better than to outright break the few regulations they’d been given.
Even if it meant an annoying lack of progress. With a sigh, he tossed the bloody bonesaw in his hands he’d forgotten he was even holding to the side, pursing his lips with furrowed brows as he glanced towards Archimedes.
“It is quite the enigma, is it not?” he sighed, shaking his head, “I can make these men gods, but what use is goodhood if it only lasts for eight seconds? Even less, if more than one’s in need!”
A series of 9 loosely connected oneshots from the Medic’s perspective, each revolving around one of his coworkers and set throughout his time at Reliable Excavation Demolition.

Summary
When Scout finds an injured bird on the battlefield he can’t bring himself to leave it behind. With that said he has no idea how to care for an injured bird. However, Medic knows how to care for birds. Medic is the last person he wants to go to for anything, but for the sake of the bird he sucks it up and goes to the Medic for help. He expects his time with the Medic to be rather unpleasant, so he is rather surprised that his time with the Medic ends up being rather nice. As the bird slowly heals Scout finds himself becoming closer to the Medic, and their blossoming friendship slowly starts to evolve into something more….
Basically, this story came about when I saw the Catcher’s Companion cosmetic item, and instantly thought 'I could write a story based off of that.'
