Harold was the nicest, friendliest guy you'd ever want to meet, always there with a smile on his face, ready to pull up a chair for some congenial conversation. Add to that his being well-read, soft-spoken, hardworking, and overall just a good guy, and you'd have a pretty good picture of the Navy seaman. Did he have a few quirks? Sure, didn't everyone? Hell, the guys on Lieutenant Craig Garrison's team had their full share of quirks themselves. (Actually, even though he'd never admit to the fact, the lieutenant himself had a tidy assortment of quirks in his back pocket too.)
So when they needed help at the Mansion, when Garrison's Plan A, then his backup Plan B, for getting that help fell through, the young lieutenant had been relieved when Colonel Joe Anderson sent Harold in their direction to lend a hand. After all, it was just a simple, if somewhat tedious, job that needed doing. What could possibly go wrong?? Especially with a nice guy like Harold!!

Perhaps to Sun Tzu, the acknowledged Master in the Art of War; it wouldn’t be the first time he’d done that, after all.

The team was captured and tortured. Special forces was able to send a team to get them out. Safely back to England, none of them were in any shape to go back out. It came down to the Garrison sisters to take care of them when they returned to the mansion. Something else needed to be taken care of and the Garrisons always take care of family. The four cons have become family to them. Warning: There is a slightly graphic description of the torture to one of them. And a few expected swear words do fly.

How many were actually on Lieutenant Craig Garrison’s team? Funny how that answer had the ability to change so rapidly. Of course, much would depend on just how you defined ‘team’. Were the soldiers assigned to the Mansion on that ‘team’? Was the Sergeant Major who made the place run like a well-made watch - at least most of the time? Did it include the various of Friends and Family who unbegrudgingly offered their support when it was needed? Garrison couldn’t have answered that, not without a great deal of thought. Usually he kept things simple, counted the team as just himself and the four cons he’d personally selected. Himself plus four equaled five. Until even that changed. Until they found themselves standing on the edge of the abyss.

What better way to end Year2025 than with a sweet story about Christmas, the North Pole, dear old Santa Claus and his elves, and of course flying reindeer. One elf, especially - Elmer, the first Elf on the Shelf - and how his interactions with some of our favorite characters impacted his life.
Oops, did I say 'sweet'? Sorry about that; actually sweet isn't the right word for this story, isn't even in the top hundred or so, although it does have a few sweet moments scattered here and there.Buck up, kiddoes; life and legend is not made up of all sugar plums and moonbeams, sweetness and light. So if that's what you're looking for, that's fine; more power to you. Luckily there's usually lots of that available this time of year - you just won't find a lot of it here. Sorry, not sorry.

An idea I came up with, while attending a summer actor's training camp. Sam and Dean (and myself) encounter strange murders in the town of Cedar City Utah, where the murders are very similar to the plays being performed at the Shakespearean Festival, and other Shakespeare Tragedies.
