Summary
In a world where bonds are forged by fate and love, can a forced connection born in violence and darkness ever be repaired?
If you ask Dazai, his answer would be a resounding, no. Not that anyone bothers to ask him anyway. If they had, he wouldn’t be stuck in this mess. But now, after everything that’s been said and done, it seems too late to turn back. The bond between them – this twisted, painful thing – is something he believes can’t be fixed. It’s been nothing but agony for him since the moment it was forced on them. The thought of hoping for anything different feels too painful to even entertain.
If you ask Chuuya (the Chuuya of the present, not his younger, self-centered, asshole self, thank you very much), he’d really, really like the answer to be yes. Because if it’s no, he loses not just the bond, but any chance of rebuilding trust between them. He’s spent years running from the very thing he now fears losing. Chuuya’s not sure what to do anymore. He didn’t understand the bond, the consequences of his actions, and now, he’s starting to realize how fragile everything is between them. The question isn’t whether he can fix things; it’s whether he has the strength to try before it’s too late.
