Raised privileged and with all that entailed, Galinda Arduenna once believed she had a firm picture of the direction of her life. Unexpectedly stripped of what little choice she still held, she finds herself sent to a distant land as part of a token marriage, ostensibly to lessen tensions between their countries; as remote a possibility as rain falling in the dusty place, as unlikely as her ascending as she ought.
Bound now to become part of a most abnormal family, all an affront to her sensibilities. The oldest most of all – blunt, outspoken, and sharp-tongued.
Determined to make up for a most disastrous beginning, Galinda does as she always has; slips into performance beneath her mask. Striving to cope until her intended arrives.
A temper fuelled altercation soon develops into a curious fascination, if only for the peculiarity of it.
Soon she finds herself confronted not just by the harsh realities of their world, but also the truths of herself – those things long pushed aside and disregarded. And the sacrifices we chose to make to do what we believe is right.
A coming of age story. The beginning threads of an overarching story, and the slow burn romance that is the heart of it.

In a divided Oz rife with tension and the mounting fear of all-out war, Glinda finally ascends, gaining more than she ever envisioned possible. Titles and position, a significance that was never meant to be hers.

A death declared, a raucous celebration following in its wake. A new day rises on Oz looking much the same as the last.
Treading a fine line balancing political and personal turmoil, Glinda clings hopefully to this new beginning and dedicates herself as she should have before, committed to mending the fractured divisions of land and people. To reunite. To help the most. To do good. But, beneath that and far greater, her heart forever leading: to protect that which they can never know. Not a harrowing escape but a desperate refusal to succumb. Her true devotion; helping Elphaba heal and regain what was lost.
Encumbered by the harshness of reality and left scarred by their own choices, the connection between them, though seemingly now a fragile thing, undoubtedly remains. And Glinda’s resolve remains ever unwavering.
