Remy could see Rogue’s cheeks go a little flushed. It was something he was used to seeing from women he’d charmed in the past, and normally, it wouldn’t have fazed him. But seeing her emerald eyes stare up at him through thick lashes, it felt like he was getting charmed himself. It was an unfamiliar experience for him.

"Charles watched as Rogue was sitting on a picnic blanket by the lake, looking carefree and radiant with Remy, laying his head on her lap, as they enjoyed the shade of the tree they were sheltered under, still in the view of the others, but given their own space.
It was the memory of when Gambit had first told her his intentions; that he thought was the most beautiful woman who'd ever walked the Earth, how he wished to take her out, and treat her like the lady she was. They'd only known each other for a few months by that point, but Rogue was absolutely smitten with him from the first moment she'd laid eyes on him.
While Rogue may have fallen for the dashing Cajun first, Remy fell far harder for her."
