“Oh, I’m sure we could find someone,” Anne hummed thoughtfully. “I hear Amy wants the spot.”
“Well, Amy can be base next time,” Sasha said with a roll of her eyes, turning back when Anne’s arm wound through hers.
“That’s harsh, Sash,” she giggled, gently tugging at Sasha, pulling her closer.
“Hmm, maybe. But then again, maybe she shouldn’t try and usurp me,” she replied, leaning her head on Anne's shoulder.

Summary
It's been five years since Sasha kissed Anne in middle school. Now, as seniors in high school, they once again find themselves sitting on the bleachers at cheer practice.

After a few grumbles down the line, Sasha groans. “Fine, you can come-”
“Yes!” Anne cheers, pumping her fist as Sasha continues.
“- I need your help with my bow anyways, it isn’t staying.”
“Don’t worry Sash, your knight in shining armour is on the way.”
“You’re so cheesy, Annie,” Sasha giggles down the line before a shout pulls her attention back to her team. “‘Kay, I need to go, but I’ll leave the door open for you! Love you!”
The call ends before Anne can respond.
