Luke took a deep breath, “How are you doing Alec?”He nodded but kept his gaze out of the window, “I’m good. A few aches here and there but the doctor has given me the green light and Jace and I have been training together again. I’m pretty much there”. He turned back to Luke and saw his raised eyebrow.
“That’s great, I’m glad you’re healing physically. I have to admit that wasn’t something I was particularly concerned with, you’re too damn stubborn to let that beat you”. He breathed in loudly through is nose. “I was more concerned with your mental health…”.

Finally, Alec moved, just a simple tilt of his head, leaning his temple on his arms instead of his forehead, and those beautiful eyes opened, shinning as they settled on Magnus across the room on the bed.
“This isn’t working” Alec whispered oh so softly, the sadness in his eyes unmistakable.
Magnus cocked his head slightly to the side, his face sympathetic, “I know” he replied in the same gentle tone.

Magnus watched him with anticipation, his eyes searching his younger fiancé’s face, filled with hope.Alec swallowed hard, his eyes flicking between the two choices. His chest felt tight, his face burning hot, and his heart raced. He had no fucking idea how he was supposed to choose, and he could feel the panic starting to grow.
