Summary
Parting the Clouds is an Animorphs AU in which Cassie is recast as a rationalist. It is inspired by works such as Luminosity and Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality.
In this installment, five ordinary American teenagers take a shortcut through a construction site on their way home from the mall, looking for an easy way home. What they find is a wounded alien who, in his desperation, gives them a gift and a warning. The gift -- to become any animal they touch. The warning -- that their planet is under attack. And they, five untrained kids, are the only people in a position to protect it.
Help will come -- eventually. But until then, it's up to the Animorphs, and they'd better come to grips with aliens in general, their new enemy in particular, and their new morphing powers fast. The freedom of the world is at stake.

Summary
After failing to rescue Tom from the Yeerk Pool, getting Tobias trapped in hawk morph and nearly getting killed, the Animorphs aren't sure how to proceed in protecting their planet. Spying on Tom could put him in danger and threaten Jake's secret identity, but fortunately, the Animorphs know another high-ranking Controller -- Assistant Principal Chapman, whose daughter Melissa is good friends with Rachel, giving them the perfect 'in'.
But something's not right about Melissa. Rachel's pretty sure she's a Controller. She insists on being the one to go ahead with the spying mission, but with this new information, Cassie feels uneasy about putting her friend in such a position. Is Rachel up to the task? Or will she lose everything trying to help an old friend?

Summary
The yeerks are up to something in the mountains. The Animorphs need to find out what, and when they see what's going on, they hatch a plan that could tell the world about the invasion and put it in the hands of trained military, letting them get on with their lives.
But something's not right with Tobias. It's hard being a hawk, and it's getting to him. Can he hold it together long enough to complete what could be their very last mission? And what drastic lengths will he go to, knowing that out of all the Animorphs, he has no happy ending in sight?

Summary
Nightmares have become pretty commonplace for all the Animorphs, but something's not right about the dreams Cassie and Tobias are having. They're weird. And they're getting more desperate.
The Animorph deduce that Cassie and Tobias are picking up some kind of telepathic distress signal, and based on their limited knowledge of thought-speak, decide that the sender could be an andalite. Whoever he is, he's trapped under the ocean. Deep under the ocean. Called to action by both the debt they feel to Prince Elfangor and the prospect of the yeerks having another morph-capable host if they get there first, the Animorphs mount their rescue mission. But with too little information, too much water, and nothing on their side but the power Prince Elfangor gave them, can they rescue the trapped alien before the yeerks do?

Summary
The Animorphs have a newly rescued andalite hiding out in the forest, and the next step is obvious -- get him home. But human technology is somewhat lacking in the interstallar transport department. Fortunately, there are a lot of yeerks around, and their interstellar transport works fine. The plan is simple -- call down a yeerk ship, hijack it, and hope Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill can outfly any pursuit.
But while it might be simple, hijacking an alien ship isn't exactly easy. And the Animorphs aren't prepared for the possibility that Visser Three might not be their biggest enemy...

Summary
The Animorphs are still settling into their new dynamic with their alien guest when Jake learns that the yeerks are planning something at the hospital. Something big. But that quickly take a back seat when, on a mission, Jake falls into a Yeerk Pool and picks up a parasitic passenger.
The Animorphs need to work fast, because the enemy in Jake's head has not only his morphing ability, but his memories. And it's desperate to escape, using Jake's knowledge of the team to pull them apart piece by piece in the effort. Can the Animorphs save their secrets and their leader both? And even if they do, can the team recover from the damage left by the enemy wearing Jake's face?

Summary
The Animorphs are tired. They've been fighting this battle a long time. So when, during a Yeerk Pool scouting mission gone bad, a mysterious being shows up and says it can take them and their families somewhere away from the yeerks to live in peace, it seems like a dream come true.
But things aren't that simple. What their supposed benefactor knows and what they claim to know doesn't really add up. For another, the Animorphs are the Earth's only defense from the yeerks until the andalite reinforcements arrive. Can they really doom all of humanity just to save the people they care about? But is it fair to keep putting the people they care about in danger by continuing their little war?
If this wasn't bad enough, changes in Rachel's family life are making it hard for her to handle the war. Can the Animorphs even keep up the fight if they lose their brave, protective frontliner? And in the midst of all this chaos, what can Cassie do to help her best friend?

Summary
Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill is trapped on Earth for the time being, and the Animorphs have taken him in. But it's starting to become clear that they can't necessarily trust Ax. Just because the Animorphs and the andalites have the same enemy doesn't mean they have the same goals, and Ax's secrecy and suspicious behaviour is starting to unnerve the others. Just how much can they trust the young aristh? And can they work together well enough to keep fighting the invasion?

Summary
The yeerks are after andalites, and they decide to hit them at home - the forest. Through a logging company, they intend to flush out the 'andalite bandits' at any cost. Since stopping the logging company is the goal anyway, nobody's too bothered that Cassie seems more focused on saving the local wildlife than on saving the human race... except Cassie, because the difference in what she professes to believe and what the war forces her to do is getting harder and harder to ignore. How can she keep fighting if she's not even sure who the good guys are any more?

Summary
There's something not right about Marco's friend Erek. He acts strange. He's in The Sharing. He has no smell, which should be impossible. And he's figured out who the Animorphs are.
But it's not as bad as it seems -- Erek's a chee, a type of alien android, and part of a secret group who oppose the yeerks, too. They want to help free the planet. There's just one problem; pacifism is hardwired into their programming, and they're incapable of committing violence. They can be reprogrammed with a particular artifact that needs to be taken from the yeerks, but the mission is difficult and dangerous. Furthermore, many of the chee don't want to be able to fight. They're worried that violence will change who they are and turn them into something they don't want to be. The Animorphs have a hard decision to make -- enable Erek's group to help them win the war by changing the nature of an entire species, or let the chee be and continue to fight alone. But if even the chee can't agree among themselves on what they want, who should the Animorphs listen to? And does the freedom of the chee, the last of their kind, outrank the danger to the freedom of humanity?

Summary
The Sharing has started a vaccination awareness campaign, and the animorphs need to find out why. Could just be harmless PR. Could also be that the yeerk showing an interest in injecting kids with things might mean bad news.
But it's hard to make headway on figuring out what the yeerks are up to, because it quickly becomes clear that somethin is wrong with Jake. He keeps seeing things that aren't there, in a place he isn't in. The animorphs have no idea what's going on or how to fix it, but they'd better figure it out fast, because Cassie's certain of one thing -- they're running out of time.

Summary
Jeremy Jason McCole, star teen actor and epitome of cuteness, is on the yeerks' radar. And the Animorphs have to save him, for the sake of the world... and hopefully a little gratitude.
But something is wrong with Rachel. After acquiring a crocodile, she finds herself unable to control her morphing when she feels intense emotion. And there's a lot going on to make her feel intense emotion. Can Cassie protect her friend from herself while they all protect Jeremy Jason from the yeerks, and the world from Jeremy Jason? Especially since Cassie's past betrayals of Rachel are starting to come back to bite them...

Summary
Tobias was just out flying. He didn't expect to stumble on two hork-bajir escapees. He certainly didn't expect to find himself a pawn in the ellimist's games yet again.
And now the Animorphs have in their hands the fate of the only two free hork-bajir in the galaxy. Two hork-bajir who the yeerks, it seems, will stop at nothing to capture, taking more risks and pulling out more stops than they ever have chasing the Animorphs. The Animorphs can help them be free or let them be slaves, and whatever they choose, they'd better commit, because if the Animorphs reveal themselves trying to free them only to lose the hork-bajir to the yeerks again, it's all over. But Tobias has been negotiating with the ellimist and might have a little something extra under his feathers...

Summary
The yeerks are doing something in the ocean, and the Animorphs need to figure out what. But no scouting mission has been this tense, Trapped among their enemies in a base underwater guarded by oddly intelligent sharks, with their morphing abilities limited and no way to know how long it'll be before they can get home again, this would be a near-impossible mission even if Tobias wasn't still getting accustomed to morphing and Marco was thinking clearly.
But it gets worse: Visser One is back, And she's brought with her a new enslaved species; Leerans. Mind readers. One misstep, and the Animorphs have no secrets left. But it seems that Marco knows a few of the Visser's secrets himself...

Summary
Something strange is going on at the school. Something that the Animorphs need to check out. Unfortunately, investigation is quickly put on hold when the Animorphs find themselves suddenly teleported across the galaxy to an andalite military ship, and thrown into yet another ongoing conflict in the yeerk-andalite war. Far from home, the Animorphs may be the only chance to keep the Leerans free from yeerk control.
With several problems to tackle at once and no obvious answers, the Animorphs need to work fast. Can they save Leera? How will they get home? Can they maintain a good impression among the andalites and convince them that among their stretched resources and multiple battlegrounds, Earth is worth saving? And now that Ax has found his people once more and his oath to Jake is complete, can his help -- or his friendship -- be counted on?

Summary
The yeerks are hoarding oatmeal at the school, and the Animorphs have to figure out why. What plan could possibly rely on oatmeal? Poisoning? Some kind of chemical mind control?
Finding the answer only raises more questions, and more dillemmas. As their ability to fight this war grows, Cassie has more and more doubts about what exactly they are trying to do. How much harm is justifiable in the name of protecting their people? Are the Animorphs really helping anyone? And how long can they hold onto their values and use their powers to do what's right when even Cassie has no idea what right or wrong is any more?

That's it. Cassie's out. All the fighting, all the killing, and they can never be sure if they've made any kind of difference or, if they did, whether good or bad. Enough is enough.
But no sooner has she quit than disaster strikes, and the universe throws one last mission in Cassie's lap. A mission with one little girl, and one last enemy that must die for the safety of everyone she cares about. One last execution.
With nowhere to go and no Animorphs to back her up, Cassie must decide just how important her morals are. In a war between galactic forces with no easy answers, what price is too high for safety?
