*_* I am so glad this fic exists. I really like that you wrote from Chigaya's POV firstly because he's such!! A good!! And also because outside POV is always interesting and it give a us another perspective on how to look at the events that were going on at camp. I'm so happy that he and Kageyama spent so much time together, and that he appreciates Kageyamas earnestness. And Kageyama noticing Miya, the whole thing with Volleyball Monthly, that was really cute and very Tobio. His wobbly smile!! I also loved the scene with Miya in the cafeteria, with the verbal sparring, it was a good illustration of how the politics?? Or relationships at camp were shifting. And for Miya to talk about setting to scrubs before they left, despite what seems to be ease and sharp understanding of social situations and Kageyama thinking of how at some poimt he could have been like that...at a point where he's trying to grow beyond what he was in middle school and evolve, and then dare I say it, Miyas seeming similarities to Oikawa but his willingness to engage with Kageyama regardless, it a definitely food for thought, and also makes me wonder if Miya is interested in Kageyama precisely because he is a goody two shoes.
Anyway I've rambled a lot, but I really enjoyed this fic, thanks so much for sharing it!! I walked away from recent chapters wanting more Miya and Kageyama interactions and now I'm really satisfied, ahaha.
hello there!! thanks so much for taking the time to read this! i'm really glad i decided to write from Chigaya's POV as well, despite the limitations, but it was definitely interesting to flesh out his personality just based on the few lines he said! Like what you mentioned about Miya bearing similarities to Oikawa, I definitely do see it as well. I think they're both highly talented and highly motivated, they both take an interest in Kageyama (for different reasons), and the difference lies in Oikawa's obvious animosity to Kageyama, whereas for Miya it's not so clear cut yet. I have the feeling that Miya knows what to say and when. Oikawa asks each player how his toss was and aims to draw out their 100%, and Kageyama tries to do the same, except it comes out really awkward because of who he is as a person lol. Maybe for Miya the difference is that he already knows what a player's 100% is, maybe instead of giving a guiding hand he gives a gentle push. And while this might seem reminiscent of Kageyama's junior high recklessness/bad attitude, maybe it hasn't backfired on him so far because he socially aware enough to navigate around it with his words. HAHA. all of this is just speculation though. Like you said, it's def food for thought, and I hope that his character is fleshed out more in canon too!
Ooh, you definitely have a lot of good points about Miya, and there's so much we don't know yet...I agree that he seems to know what to say and when to say it, like he has that kind of social shrewdness about him. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts about the Oikawa-Miya similarities as well aughhhh I can't wait until we get a better picture of him and what he wants!!
