Comment on Updates to "No Fandom" Additional Tags, April 2026

  1. I'm hoping so too. Always annoyed me that I couldn't separate the two.

    1. You can separate the two by simply filtering vore out of a search for cannibalism (and since vore is a subtag and not a syn of cannibalism, cannibalism doesn't show up in a search for vore), but no one is going to think to do that unless they've checked out the tag tree.

      1. Cannibalism is still within the top additional tags when searching up vore, and you can't exclude it without it removing every vore fic, which is the issue I have.

        1. That's happening because anythiung tagged Vore is being counted as Cannibalism for the purposes of the sidebar exclusion filter, not because the works actually feature any cannibalism or are expressly tagged "cannibalism" by the authors.

If you're getting too much actual cannibalism in a vore search, you can filter out the exact term within the tags by putting -tag:cannibal in the "Search Within Results" field in the sidebar. That will get rid of anything with that exact string in the tags while ignoring the tag structure of the canonicals.

This filter takes the vore tag from 14,229 works (at moment of typing) down to 14,169 works, which really just demonstrates how little overlap there is between the two concepts.

If you're still finding a bunch of actual untagged cannibalism in your vore fics, look around for other common terms or phrases to filter out. And look at more than just the tags, sometimes there's a common way of describing things in summaries that can be filtered on.
