Every once in a while a new (?) take on a favorite scene will arrive and then the dilemma follows. Is it really new? Will the words breathe fresh air into it or will they land with a dull, repetitive thud? Is anyone interested after all this time? I rewatched the Oak Room scene the other day and was reminded of the beauty and impact of Cate and Rooney’s acting. Those two faces, eyes, and lips were a master class in acting. Watching many times doesn’t tire but rather imbues it with more depth each time.
