oh my god, i LOVED THIS! a few of my favorite lines were the one about akilah not liking travis Before, the hints of the relationship between akilah and her older sisters, and then that line about travis's jealous look when akilah refuses the mushrooms. because that's something that SHE gets to do. i hope to god that akilah didn't die in that cave, but this is a very interesting way of reading that scene, especially in conjunction with the relationships you've built for her. 10/10 <3
