Fringilla decides the best way to make a tortured Bard spill where Geralt of Rivia would take his Child of Surprise is to dive into his head and create illusions. When two bastards stumble into his cell and break him out he understandably believes that they are a figment of his imagination. He keeps his cards as close to his chest as a talkative Bard possibly could as they drag him to what they assure him is a safe place. After all, why would Julian know all that Jaskier does about Kaer Morhan?
Meeting Lambert at Rosie's Tavern at the base of the Blue Mountains he lets half of the cards tumble in the presence of the Wolf Witcher. They grow closer as the four of them trudge up the mountain and meet with the other Wolves in the keep, where he is a trusted member until three weary travelers arrive one morning and cause his cards to go flying.

Geralt’s golden eyes were blown wide open, and his face was devoid of emotion. He was holding a small dagger in his hand, worryingly, towards Jaskier.
“I will not ask you again.” Geralt growled. “Who. Are. You.”
Jaskier pushed himself up in bed, the sleep that was clouding his brain rapidly dissipating.
“Geralt, what are you talking about? Are you feeling okay? What’s wrong?”instead of a peaceful winter at kaer morhen, where the wolves (plus a bard, a witch, and a lion cub) can relax, geralt wakes up with no memory of jaskier, his bard, his companion, and most importantly, his lover.
geralt broods. jaskier panics, but tries not to. everyone else wishes that they could just get their act together.

When Howard Stark is somehow thrown into the future, Toni has to figure out a way to keep her longtime boyfriend from finding out just why she hated his old friend, keep her adopted not-son Peter away from the abusive older Stark, and find a way to send the man back without letting him glean too much about the future, all while watching Steve bro-bond with her dear old dad and reminding people that she was not remotely mother material so everyone just stop encouraging Peter to call her Mommy, damn it!
