Your hand that had been petting Everest goes still. “Oh, uh, yeah. After I spent enough time with them, I started coming up with names for all of them, so I'd have something to call each of them by.”
“Is that alright?” You nervously ask, “When I looked through the rulebook, I couldn't find a rule that said you couldn’t name the hedgehogs, but to be on the safe side, I just kept the names to myself.”
“There isn’t a rule that forbids naming the hedgehogs.” Riddle confirms, “So, I have no issue with you naming them.”
He gives you a curious look. “Since you have a name for all six of the hedgehogs, does that mean you can tell them all apart? I personally find that difficult to do with the hedgehogs that happen to be the same color, so I'm curious about how you are able to differentiate them.”
You perk up. “Oh yeah, of course! Rather than noticing physical differences, I’ve just picked up on the differences in their attitudes and behaviors and given them names based on that.”
