Summary
Hidden away in a valley entrapped inside a near insurmountable mountain range is the mythical town of Musutafu. The people in it don't know that to the rest of the world they're discussed in late-night tales in the form of legends. But how would they know? No one has entered or exited Musutafu in a very, very long time. Those that do leave, braving the forest, are never heard of again.
Because deep in the pitch-black, ominous woods is a monster of unknown proportions. The citizens of this lonely village do not know what it looks like, or why it targeted them specifically all those generations ago, but they do know why they are kept. Every now and then, sometimes months or sometimes years apart, someone in the town will snap and bend to the silent call the secretive monster emits. In exchange, the forest always provides.
But this can not last forever, can it? As much as his mother believes otherwise, Izuku knows that this can not be eternal. And one day, he's proven right.
The forest beckons to him.

Summary
The sound of footsteps jolts him out of his thoughts. Izuku smothers a scream behind his hand, the lunchbox perched on his lap shaking with his convulsions. In his two years of eating here thus far, no one has walked in on him before. Beside him, the cubicle door slams closed, and he can hear the shuffling noises of someone sitting down on the toilet seat. The crinkle of a plastic wrapper, quiet chewing sounds.
It takes him a while to realise that the stranger next door is eating their lunch in the bathroom, too. For a long moment Izuku just sits there motionless, fingers clasped around his chopsticks in a vice grip. Eventually the panic subsides, and in its place is an unusual camaraderie he feels with the stranger.
Before he knows it, he’s blurting out, “Hi I’m Midoriya Izuku.”
Izuku eats his lunch in the bathroom. One day, he's joined by a stranger in the cubicle next door.

Summary
Izuku tries to hold it in. He digs his nails into his palms and bites down on his lip hard enough to bleed. Stares at the side of Kacchan’s face and maps out every beautiful feature to imprint on memory—the line of his jaw, the divot right below his lip, the deep red of his eyes. If he looks hard enough at all the good things he can forget about Kacchan leaving, he hopes.
But when the departure hall calls for his flight, something inside Izuku snaps and he utterly, utterly breaks.
Right then, the distance between New York and Musutafu—spanning over ten thousand kilometres—doesn't feel as far as the distance between their dreams.
Kacchan leaves to New York for two years. Their long distance relationship takes a toll on Izuku.

Katsuki growls. “Want me to stop?!” It’s a threat.
Izuku’s eyes widen before sliding bashfully to the side. His cheeks light up underneath his freckles. He won’t even say one way or another. Typical. Katsuki’s doing this to him and he won’t even go through the trouble of a meaningful acknowledgement.
No wonder Katsuki hates him sometimes.
“HAH?!” Katsuki demands.
Izuku wiggles. “I just think you should, um”—
I’m tryin’a play with you, you stupid nerd, Katsuki thinks. Don’t dare open your mouth and pretend you’re in control.
Katsuki glares down into Izuku’s face. Izuku hides self-consciously. Good. Katsuki hopes he feels tiny; like he’s at Katsuki’s mercy. Like he’s Katsuki’s little toy to play with. Izuku should be thrilled to be Katsuki’s toy. Katsuki wants to hear him admit he loves being Katsuki’s plaything.
After all, he’s Katsuki’s only little toy. He’s the only one he wants to — has ever wanted to — play with.

"Bet you thought Bakugou was a handful," Sero states, in the middle of stopping Kaminari from stealing his chips.
Izuku laughs.
"Ah well, actually I was more of a trouble to Kacchan than he was to me, at least on our first meeting."
Kaminari stops, blinkingly, "pardon?"
