Summary
Eccedentesiast is an English word formed from three Latin roots: ecce, I present; dentes, teeth (here, a smile); and iast, one who performs or entertains. Its derived meaning is that of an individual who hides pain or malcontent behind a smile. By combining these roots, the word’s literal meaning becomes the following: I present to you my teeth as a performer.

Bookmarker's Notes
Why have I never thought of the implications of the long con before? Love this fic. Dearly. Probably my number one. Covers the nitty-gritty of combat, touches on a lot of great ideas, doesn't overstay its welcome, ends fucking gloriously.

Summary
"Don't leave me like this…" He is certain he'd said something to that effect what now seemed like a lifetime ago- though it might have actually been mere minutes… maybe an hour, yet here he was, lain flat on the inside of the pod barreling skywards through fathoms of sapphire water.

Bookmarker's Notes
Generally I hit shipping fics on the suspicious side. They tend to be too horny or too fluffy--glossing over unpleasant truths to get to the GOOD PARTS. But this one? This one stares right into your face, picks up the knotty problems, and begins slowly dissecting them in front of you while never breaking eye contact. In the process, it explores Augustus Sinclair's character and what it means to go on after committing the unforgivable.
Now, there are quite a few problems with it, technically speaking: innumerable typos; uneven formatting that distracts and confuses; everything is a paragraphical chunk, often containing multiple pieces of dialogue from different characters; sometimes it's difficult to tell who's saying what; sometimes it's difficult to tell which character you're reading about. Stylistically, it also tends toward the simplistic: telling when its showing is sufficient; similes and metaphors trending toward the obvious. But the story manages to be told regardless, and it is told maturely, with a broad view of human experience and a love of people. It takes its time understanding its characters; it takes its time propelling its plot. In the process, there are surprising twists and turns and a delicious growing relationship between Subject Delta and Augustus Sinclair that I'm just rooting for with every cell of my body.
I cannot express enough how good this is. It fucking transported me. I binge-read it and I haven't binge-read for years. Just read this shit honey you'll have a great ol time

Summary
Sinclair is used to playing both sides of any conflict, and forming an alliance with Atlas is no exception. Atlas is used to getting his way, and putting Sinclair in his place only sweetens the deal.
Needless to say, things get... messy.
