Behind the Scenes:
The Idea Itself:
After watching the first three seasons of Boku No Hero Academia from August to September 2019 and reading through the manga, there was one question that ran through my mind:
In this era of Quirks and Pro Heroes, where was the military in all of this? If there were any national militaries left if any, what would be their role in a world where over 80% of the world's population possesses a Quirk?
With that, hours upon hours of worldbuilding, brainstorming, military hardware research, and ideas resulted in the storyline that created "A Soldier Among Heroes".
Full disclosure: writing commenced on October 5th, 2019 and finally completed on July 31st, 2020. The last two months was spent on reviewing and editing the entire fic to purposely coincide with the one year anniversary of the creation of this fic.
Making the MC Character:
Originally, the character was simply just going to be called "Jaeger" until I realized that that wouldn't make a lick of sense, seeing how everyone has a full name outside of their hero name. I've gone through roughly ten different names that sounds good in both my head and in the writing before I finally settled on "Raleigh Morrison".
The MC's name came from mixing two names together:
-His first name "Raleigh" came from Raleigh Beckett, the main protagonist from Pacific Rim
-His last name "Morrison" came from Temuera Morrison, the actor that played both Jango Fett and the clone troopers from the Star Wars prequel trilogy
Appearance-wise, he would look like the teenaged version of Pacific Rim's Raleigh Beckett.
The OC Colonels:
I've had difficulty with trying to imagine what any of the characters will look like, so I try to base them off characters from movies and shows I've seen before to make my life easier.
Appearance-wise, Colonel Walters looks like Apollo Creed from the Rocky movie series, while Colonel Kuszarek (which the last name I made up on the spot), looks like Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series. Colonel Walters was a randomly made up character I made on the spot, but Colonel Kuszarek was a character that I made up way back in 2017. More on that in future Behind the Scenes.

This is my very first BNHA fanfic ever, thus I'm very excited to post and share this fic online! I'll try to upload the chapters once or twice (maybe even three times) per week, so stay tuned!
