Chapter Text
“George!”
“Dream?”
The waves sing tales of lovers and confessions, spilling out smiles of salt and coloring the sky with the rainbow. Golden sand glistening in the sun, blinding to the eyes, it shines like the most precious jewels. Clouds float in the infinite sky, fluffy alabaster cotton balls, sweet like candy.
“George,” Dream pants. “Listen to me, please, then you can throw me away,”
“I-”
Tears trickle down once more the reddened cheeks. “ Please… ” George nods.
“George, I’m such a fucking idiot. I’m such a fool. I’m so so sorry that I hurt you, I’m so sorry I made you feel worthless. Every inch in my body aches at the fact that I was the cause of your pain.” Dream sniffles, fist clenched at his sides.
Leaves sing together with then wind.
He continues. “I love you, I love you so much. I- love is such a small word to describe how I feel. How you make me feel.”
“I’m so in love with you, it makes me mad. Mad at myself that I couldn’t recognize it sooner, that I made you suffer because of my ignorance.”
“Come back to me please, I need you to fix me and I need to fix you. I wish you knew how fucking much you mean to me, your face, your voice, your laugh, they play in my head every night. I can’t sleep, but it’s worth it. Because I love you.
Dream steps closer, George stays still. “I don’t know if you’ll forgive me, my heart begs for you to be with me. It sings melodies for you, love songs that resonate in my body. But my mind tells me you need time and I know that.”
“It pains me that I hurt you so much, and I know you’ll never want me ever again. That you hate me, you despise me, I know that, but I still love you. And I will, even if you’ll tell me to go to Hell, to die. But I love you.”
“I’ll be here for you… waiting, for as long as it takes for you to forgive me, for you to tell me you still want to at least be friends. Even if it will hurt knowing you don’t love me like I do, I still love you. Because you deserve to be loved, in the best way possible.” Dream laughs, a choked, painful laugh.
“So don’t leave me here, please, I need you to be happy. I need you to tell me you’re fine, that you’re happy, even without me. I will forever belong to you, even if you don’t belong to me, even if I can’t be with you, it’s fine. Knowing you’re happy makes me happy, it’s enough. Because I love you, so much, so fucking much. I love you, I love you, I-”
Silence takes the place of the frantic words.
Lips steal the painfully loved filled confession, soft, gentle.
George shut up Dream, kissing him breathlessly, inhaling all the “i love you” Dream had. Dream kisses back, urgent, wanting, passionate, grabbing George and pulling him up. They keep kissing until they can’t breathe and separate for air.
George’s face is full of tears, wetting the perfect skin, smiling with his glossy coffee eyes.
“You’re such an idiot,” George sobs and Dream kisses him again.
“I know, but I’m your idiot,” Dream lets more tears fall, cheeks hurting from smiling.
George kisses him, again. “Yes,” he cries.
“ My idiot.”
The gardenias finally are out of their bloom, drying out in the sun, dead. Red tulips grow, symbols of an undying love, passion and a perfect love.
No more secrets, no more lies.
Love was bound to be born, it was ready to bloom into a beautiful creation by two equally beautiful creatures. Of course it’s not going to be perfect, nothing is, but love can repair all.
Love is profound, it’s tender. It’s reign guides humanity, striving to be happy.
There’s only one person you’ll give your heart and soul, it’ll be hard to find, but you will. I believe it.
After that fateful day, for the first time, George couldn't taste the bitterness on his tongue.
the end :]
