Work Text:

Yoongi had offered to bring Jimin cookies. After all, when your best friend is suffering from the winter blues, the number one cure is peanut butter cookies.

On the drive to Jimin’s, Yoongi noticed how bad the roads were. A week long deep-freeze combined with heavy snowfall made driving on typically busy suburban streets less than optimal.

While Jimin hate with winter months with a passion, Yoongi loved them. With his white-blond hair and love of cool weather, it was a common joke that he was the male incarnate of Queen Elsa herself.

He pulled into his shorter friends driveway, container of fresh baked cookies in hand. Upon exiting the car, his sneaker clad foot sinking into about five inches of powdery snow.

Cursing, Yoongi practically ran to the front door. When Jimin opened it, he found his best friend coated in thick snowflake.

  The sight was almost comical.

Jimin made room, allowing a cold and damp Yoongi inside. The house was warm, and already bright with Christmas decor. Jimin was definitely the type of person to begin putting up his Christmas stuff the day after Halloween.

“Did you bring them?” Jimin asked excitedly. The smile on his face involuntarily made Yoongi smile too. He shook the container holding the cookies, the plastic still warm to the touch.

Giddiness was plastered to Jimin’s face. It was a little known fact that Yoongi made kickass peanut butter cookies. “You’re the best! I’ll go make some hot chocolate.

It was also a little known fact that Jimin could make kickass hot chocolate with just about any chocolate bar.

Today, the chocolate bar of choice was Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

“You clever little shit.” Yoongi said with a smile upon entering the kitchen. His remark left Jimin giggling. “Your favourite chocolate and my favourite cookie. A match made in heaven, no?”

It took every fibre of Yoongi’s being to say something along the lines of “We’re a match made in heaven, no?” or anything else that was equally as stupid.

Luckily for him, common sense and not wanting to make his friend uncomfortable held him back.

   Friend.

He hated that word. Hated it with a passion. Hated it more than his friend  hated winter. An Jimin was completely oblivious.

Jimin handed Yoongi a mug, smile bright as always. “Cheers to friendship!” He exclaimed, clinking mugs with a now scowling Yoongi. “Yeah, friendship.” He grumbled before taking a large swig of the sugary liquid.

While the hot chocolate was amazing as always,  he decided he needed something a little stronger

“Do you have any Bailey’s?” Yoongi asked Jimin. He nodded and opened up a door to one of the cupboard above the marble counter.

The glass bottle was on one of the higher shelves, a little beyond Jimin’s reach. However, this didn’t stop him from trying to jump and grab it.

A small laugh escaped Yoongi’s lips. “Need a hand?”

Jimin shook his head. “Nah, I have a secret weapon.” With that, he opened a lower cabinet and pulled out a foldable step-stool.He grabbed the bottle delicately placing it front of Yoongi.

“Thanks.” Once Jimin turned around, Yoongi poured a large amount of the sweet alcohol into his already half empty mug. H.e took another large swig, alcohol induced warmth spreading throughout his body.

The two made small talk, discussing the bad weather and the latest bit of drama at work.

As the visit wore on, the snowfall became heavier and Yoongi became  tipsier. Jimin looked outside and saw that at least another foot of snow had fallen since Yoongi arrived over an hour prior.

On top of that, Yoongi’s drunken state would be incredibly dangerous on the roads. Jimin wouldn’t have been able to forgive himself if something happened to his best friend.

“You may have to stay here tonight, the roads are full of snow and I doubt you’ll want to dig your car out now.” He wasn’t stupid and knew the main reason Jimin wanted him to stay was that he was too drunk to go anywhere.

Seeing as he had no choice, Yoongi muttered a string of curses under his breath. “Yeah, that might be a good idea.”

They headed down to the basement together, where Jimin set up a pillow and some blankets for Yoongi. Jimin was set up a spot for himself as well, just so he could keep an eye on the white haired boy.

Yoongi was not an alcoholic by any means. In fact, a drink and a half was all he needed to feel a buzz. And when he was drunk, he became outrageously affectionate.

When the black haired boy suggested they get some sleep, an exaggerated pout was on Yoongi’s lips. Jimin probably wouldn’t admit it aloud, the white haired boy looked adorable with that pout of his.

His affectionate side was already peaking through, and it was evident through the way he had draped himself across Jimin’s shoulder.

Now, Jimin was aware of how Yoongi was after drinking. He wasn’t hoping the blond haired boy would ask for the bottle of Bailey’s, but he couldn’t say that he didn’t throw around the ‘F word’ to motivate him a little.

Truth be told, Jimin loved it when Yoongi was affectionate.

He tried to leave Yoongi’s side, which would allow him to sleep the alcohol’s effects away. However, Jimin’s plans were thwarted when the white haired boy tightened his grip on the black haired boy’s shoulder. “Staaaaaay with meeeee.” Yoongi whined, practically laying his body in Jimin’s lap.

A drunken Min Yoongi was like a cat; annoying and endearing all at the same time. “Alright, but you’ve gotta at least sit up. Your bony skill hurts.”

Yoongi giggled about nothing in particular, complying with Jimin’s request.

Once they were more comfortable, Yoongi turned to Jimin. “Y’know, I really like you. Sober me might regret saying this, but I don’t care. Park Jimin, will you do me the honor of not shooting me down?”

Jimin smiled. “I thought you’d never ask.” He kissed Yoongi on the cheek, turning the boy’s face a bright pink.

They fell asleep not long after, lying in each other’s arms.

The next morning, Jimin awoke to find Yoongi not cuddled up to him. Instead, he found Yoongi brewing a pot of coffee in the kitchen.

Just by looking at him, it was evident that he was hungover.

“Good morning.” Jimin said, bright as always. Yoongi grunted in response, sounding vaguely like ‘what’s so good about it’.

Rather than speaking, Jimin took the steaming cup of black coffee. When Yoongi looked down at him, Jimin kissed him square on the lips.

The kissed lingered for a few seconds, Yoongi being too dazed to respond.

When Jimin pulled away, Yoongi was stammering. “I-I don’t know what to say. Could we maybe have a do-over after coffee?”

There was an innocent way to how Yoongi said that, causing Jimin to smile.

  “Of course.”
