Asylum

Summary:

Suns fireball didn't kill Nexus, rather it forcefully purged his system of all of his Negative Star energy. He was dragged back to their dimension kicking and screaming... and it soon became obvious that he was far beyond their ability to help.

So they found a Psychiatric Facility and committed him, with the hope that this might be the right help he desperately needs...

Unfortunately, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

(I'm sorry I suck at summaries T_T)

Chapter 1

The New Forever

“When you hit rock bottom, the only way left to go is up.”

Unless you are Nexus, because when he hits rock bottom it will only be a matter of time before the bedrock will give way and he can free fall into hell…

Nothing was ever simple with this family, nothing ever went according to plan and nothing ever, ever seemed to work out in the way it should. At least that was what Sun couldn’t help but think as he sat next to Moon in the middle of a doctors office in a massive psychiatric hospital. The exhausted celestial animatronic couldn’t help but put his face in his hands as he felt the doctor’s eyes staring at him… into him. No doubt judging him after the story they had just told.

This new nightmare had started during the final showdown with Nexus. It had been right after Dark Sun had forced Sun to make his deadly choice; Sun had launched a fireball at Nexus’s chest and there had been an explosion… But something had gone wrong… Nexus’s screams and howls of utter agony still haunted Sun as he watched his once-brothers chest cavity blow apart!

…but not completely...

Indeed, a big portion of his chest and back had exploded and Nexus himself had caught fire and burned, while Sun froze. Watching in horror as he writhed; all while the intense flames burned black and purple, which would later be determined to be the Negative Star Power being forcefully purged from his body, before abruptly extinguishing themselves and leaving Nexus heavily damaged, burned, immobile but-

‘What a pity, he lived.’ Sun had heard Dark Suns voice whisper next to him as he stood frozen in horror. ‘He’s of no use to me anymore. You can take him if you want, otherwise I will just feed him to my dragon.’ Hearing that had finally snapped Sun out of whatever horrified trance he’d been in, and he’d grabbed Nexus by the legs and proceeded to drag him down the stairs towards where Moon and Solar had run to when Nexus had first combusted. Both screaming at Sun to stop, to leave Nexus where he was, all while Sun had screamed and begged them to help him! Eventually Suns pleading had won out, and Moon and Solar had reluctantly helped him pull the still screaming Nexus through the portal, back to their home… and straight into a small cell that Moon set up near his lab. Since he was far too dangerous to keep anywhere near the house or the daycare. It was just the safest option. Even though the family learned was that all the Negative Star Power, let alone Nexus’s ability to use it, was gone. Apparently, Suns flames had burned it out of him. Giving his body a complete and forceful purge; it was a relief to the family, but it infuriated Nexus.

But everything infuriated Nexus…

That’s all he was. He was nothing but rage, hate and fury. He couldn’t be talked too, couldn’t be reasoned with. Heaven knows Sun tried… he tried so hard to reach Nexus. He visited with him every day, just sat outside his cell and tried to talk to him… tried to reach the brother he’d lived with, loved and formed many happy memories with over the course of the last year. But every day, his former brother just spat vile and venom at him. Nexus wouldn’t listen… One time Earth had tried to sit with Nexus and see if anything she said might get him to calm down. The only thing that came from that interaction was Earth walking away with tears in her eyes and apparently crying to Monty for several hours afterwards. Solar… well, Solar wasn’t going to even try. Partially because he knew that he wouldn’t be able to help and his presence might even make everything worse. But… it wasn’t hard to guess that he also blamed himself at least somewhat for the state Nexus was now in.

Nexus knew exactly how to hurt everyone…

Which is why Moon wanted him gone…

Moon got fed up real quick with Nexus’s bullshit and unlike everyone else he didn’t hold any sort of positive view of him to make him want to help him. He bit his tongue, but he wished Sun had just let him to rot after the fireball damaged him. He wished Nexus had the decency to just die and disappear so everyone else could move on with their lives and forget the rat bastard had ever existed... It would have made everyone’s lives so much easier. Moon was completely unsympathetic to Nexus and he was only just barely able to hide his contempt of him from the rest of his family. But that contempt was growing almost daily. From the poison Nexus tried to spit at him whenever he walked by, to watching Earth cry, to watching Sun die inside a little more every day as he tried to help someone who didn’t want to be helped.

But things took a turn one day when Moon walked by Nexus’s cell, ignoring him as he always did… Although he couldn’t help but notice that Nexus had a particularly shit eating grin on his face as he passed.

“I wonder how Johnathan’s been since you put him in his grave? You think he’s rotted away yet?” Nexus said in a borderline sing-song voice. But his words stopped Moon dead in his tracks as his words truly registered to the moon-themed animatronic… and a wave of fiery rage boiled up from the very depths of his being and he turned around, went back, flung open the door to Nexus’s cell…

And the two just started brawling…

It was violent and hateful on both sides and only ended when Sun and Monty, who Moon had needed to talk to about an unrelated topic, showed up and managed to physically pull the two of them apart. But not before Nexus had managed to put several claw marks into Moons cheek and Moon had partially managed to re-open one of the welds on Nexus’s chest. Sun was furious of course, but at that point something as cold as ice had settled into Moon after that entire episode and he had stated in a cold, emotionless tone that this entire ‘thing’ with Nexus wasn’t working. That everything was just… rotting… and he was bringing them all down with him.

Sun had protested, of course he did. Expressing that he wouldn’t give up on Nexus, that he was still their brother and he was… ill. He needed their help and they couldn’t abandon him again. That had been what had started all of this! That them not being there when Nexus had been lost in his sorrow had led him to down the road that twisted him into the monster he was now.

Moon had told Sun to look at what he had just said because he completely agreed with that statement… Nexus was in fact, a monster. That even Sun could see it he just didn’t want to admit; except he had on accident right then. Moon had taken a deep breath and as calm as he possibly could… he explained that in spite of how Sun felt, he wasn’t responsible for the mess Nexus had made of his own life. That deep down, Sun also knew that he wasn’t helping Nexus now. That they were all in danger of being dragged down mentally because of Nexus’s problems… and that if Sun truly cared about him, they needed to think of a more realistic plan on helping him because what they were doing now sure as hell couldn’t continue.

Sun went very quiet at that, but after several long minutes he whispered that they couldn’t abandon him again. He always said that to the point it was almost like a mantra and Moon promised that they wouldn’t… but it was time that they started looking at alternative arrangements for their dark and unhappy brother.

Which had led them to where they were now…

Sitting in a doctor’s office, in a different dimension where apparently animatronics were treated the same as humans and they could receive proper mental help in a hospital setting. Moon had searched high and low before settling on this place. It was rated as one of the best of the best across hundreds of dimensions. Sun was understandably hesitant, but Moon had made the call and scheduled a meeting with one of the doctors at this facility. Which was going… well… as well as it could be anyway.

Considering that this doctor was also an Eclipse…

He looked much like most other Eclipses with his primary color scheme being orange and black with large golden eyes. He wore a gray turtleneck with black slacks and black shoes, but also a white doctors coat lazily draped over his shoulders and a stethoscope around his neck. But most noticeable of all was the unamused look of boredom all to visible on his face. Also something that was very expected for every Eclipse when dealing with Suns and Moons. Still, in spite of that he had maintained a mostly professional demeanor as they had discussed their situation.

Doctor Eclipse listened as they had talked about Nexus. His past, his injuries and his badly deteriorated and aggressive mental state. He didn’t say much aside from asking a few pertinent questions or asked for a quick clarification on some things as both Sun and Moon had told the story… and when they had fallen silent, he sighed and stood up grabbing a cane from next to his chair that neither of the brothers had initially noticed.

“Well you two fucked up royally. You should have gotten him help when you first noticed he was spiraling.” His tone was flat, cold and blunt. “And even now after he’s been through all this hell, you still hesitated in bringing him someplace he could be treated. Fucking brilliant.” At this Sun tensed. Moon could see he was about to say something, getting ready to argue back… but the Eclipse proceeded to open the door to his office and made a motion for the two other animatronics to stand up. “But the Common-Sense Fairy seems to have finally visited your dimension and fortunately for you two, you finally came to the right place to have him treated. So get up and follow me. I’ll show you around our facilities.”

“So you are willing to admit him?” Moon questioned suspiciously. “You’re making it pretty clear you don’t like us.”

Doctor Eclipse rolled his eyes. “I don’t sugar coat my diagnoses of dumbassery, in fact I give those out for free. But this isn’t about you two idiots. This is about a mentally ill individual in your ‘care’ who’s spiraling and needs an immediate evaluation and, by the sound of it, some long-term inpatient treatment. I’m showing you both around because a blind man can see your Sun isn’t too keen on any of this.” And he was right; it was taking all of Suns self-control not to get up and just walk out. Moon looked at him and put a hand on his shoulder, an action meant to be steadying but it was unclear if it had the desired effect. But Sun still stood up with a low sigh and with Moon he followed the Doctor Eclipse out of his office. He began the tour of showing the two around the hospital, his pace was surprisingly quick despite him having a very noticeable and pronounced limp with his left leg.

The place was called Silver Horizons Hospital and Psychiatric Facility and as Doctor Eclipse explained, they had been operating for nearly 100 years and had a borderline immaculate reputation. Their reputation was so good in fact that Sun and Moon were not the only interdimensional individuals to seek treatment here, be it for themselves or for others.

“Yeah I know, I saw the reviews.” Moon muttered. It was… evident.. that he was a bit put off by the fact that he was deferring to an Eclipse in any way. “But what’s with the House cosplay?” Moon said with a lightly sarcastic tone in his voice. This earned him an annoyed glare from this Eclipse.

“My Moon tried to erase me; the only thing he managed to do was delete a portion of the motor control for my left leg. So while I may look like House, I’m not in any pain. Plus, my cane can do this…” With that Doctor Eclipse stopped, turned and poked Moon with his cane… which apparently had a built-in taser and he gave Moon a ZAP! Not a powerful one, but enough to make Moon back off after a slight yelp of pain. “I will honor my Doctors Oath. I will do no harm… but I will take no shit either.” It wasn’t hard to pick up on the warning in his tone; Moon just rubbed his chest and bit back whatever snarky comeback he undoubtedly wanted to say to Eclipse. So, the tour continued. Only now it was just… quieter.

Even Sun would admit, the hospital was kept as spotless as its reputation, even he had to admit it was surprisingly clean and he was being EXTREMELY persnickety. He was also taking notice of both patients and staff… and he found himself stopping to stare at the magazine that one young nurse was discussing with another. On the cover was a bot that Sun immediately recognized as Solar Flare. He was on the cover, wearing a white doctors coat and seemingly smiling and awkwardly waving at the camera… with the words Number 1 Bachelor of the Year in bright red font.

“Yes, my brother won the cities coveted Bachelor of the Year award. It came with his photo on the cover of that magazine, a weeklong vacation to a luxury resort and countless women now hitting on him.” Eclipse said as he noted that Sun had stopped following them and when he saw what he was looking at he couldn’t resist commenting. Although Sun just looked at Eclipse with a look of pure unmitigated bafflement.

“How?”

“A question he is literally asking everyday.”

Sun didn’t say anything else on the subject, instead doing his very best to just forget that little piece of information. He just returned to walking next to Moon and observing the rest of the hospital Doctor Eclipse was showing them. It was when Eclipse started showing them the various patient dormitories, the extensive facilities and when he started talking about the various treatments, they offered Sun finally asked a question. “Would you be treating him? He’d hate that.”

Eclipse paused seemingly thinking about it for a second. “Technically I could, but I have been told repeatedly I cause more psychological problems than I help.” He couldn’t resist a small, cold chuckle at what was a clearly entertaining memory of some sort. “No, there’s plenty of other psychiatrists here that would be a better fit than me. And we have played the good old, musical therapists and rotated doctors until we find the right fit for each patient. So if your brother would have a problem with me-!!” Before Eclipse could continue, a closet he was walking past was suddenly flung open and he was pulled inside as quick as a flash! It was so fast that Sun and Moon couldn’t even react beyond staring at the door for several seemingly endless seconds before Eclipse came back out, only now looking a bit disheveled. His white coat off one shoulder and his stethoscope missing. “We would simply assign him to a different psychiatrist.” Eclipse finished; trying to ignore what just happened as he pulled his coat back onto his shoulders proper and smoothed out his turtleneck. Obviously his attempt to just brush this off wasn’t exactly working… but before the inevitable uncomfortable questions could start, the door opened again and this time the individual who had been in there stepped out holding Doctor Eclipses stethoscope and handed it back to him-

“Ruin?!”

The outright screaming of his name made the smaller, British bot jump a little as he turned around to face both Moon and Sun. His eyes widened at the sight of them both before he plastered on a smile… a fake one that was laced with obvious annoyance.

“Oh, it’s you two.” Ruin said with false warmth. “I wasn’t expecting to see either of you again.”

“You know them?” Doctor Eclipse asked surprised.

“We are… acquainted.” Ruin answered, choosing his words carefully. “Although I believe that the feeling is mutual in saying we wish we weren’t.”

“Wait… what the hell are you even doing here?!” Moon said unable to stop his voice from rising.

“He works here." Eclipse said simply as his brows raised at the situation that was surprisingly getting a heated out of nowhere. “Ruin came to work here about a year ago and now he practically runs the place.”

“It’s been ten months and twelve days.” Ruin corrected. His tone becoming light and airy and his formerly forced smile became a genuine one as his attention turned to Doctor Eclipse. “And you flatter me good sir. All I do is just manage the department schedules, coordinate all the nurses, double check patient charts, medication dosages, and make sure appointments are properly logged. Just the standard Head Nurse duties.”

“The boss lady loves having you around.” Eclipse added. His own snarky exterior becoming a little bit softer. “Things sure as hell run smoother with you here.”

“She’s a lovely boss.” Ruin said with a slight chuckle. “Initially I was tempted to follow another Eclipse into a different dimension; but I decided I needed a truly fresh start and came here instead. It was one of the best decisions I ever made.”

It was as these two just calmly discussed things in front of both brothers; Sun couldn’t help but feel a wave of both nausea and fury boil up from the depths of his animatronic soul. Ruin had played such a key part in Nexus’s mental downfall, the thought that he was here and living a happy life with a new job… possibly being involved with the frickin doctor at that… and THIS was the place they were considering sending Nexus to for mental health treatment?!

“Nope…” Sun said and turned his back on everyone and started walking back out towards the exit. He heard Moon swear slightly under his breath and run after him, catching up in a few seconds and having to borderline jog to keep up with the angry animatronics pace.

“Sun come on…” Moon started only to be silenced when his brother immediately stopped walking and faced him with that furious glare.

“You want to leave Nexus here?! With Ruin and an Eclipse and God only knows what else?! He’d hate this!”

“Nexus ALREADY hates everything!” Moon countered but stopped and forced himself to take a calming breath before continuing with a much calmer tone. “Sun, this place is the best rated psychiatric facility I could find across literally a thousand dimensions. And that Eclipse said he won’t treat Nexus, there are other people who can do that-”

“Ruin.” Sun angrily stated. “I don’t want him anywhere near Nexus.”

“Sun… please… just finish the tour?” Moon pleaded and after a long moment of silence Sun let out a defeated breath and turned around to walk back to Ruin and Doctor Eclipse-

But what they saw stopped them both in their tracks as they stared at an animal that was now right next to the doctor and the nurse… and it was something that belonged in this hospital probably less than Ruin.

It was an anteater…

Well, it looked structurally like an anteater. Soft chocolate brown fur with some grey streaks, a long snout and a thick long bushy tail. That was normal. What wasn’t normal was that standing on all fours it stood easily as tall as Eclipse and much larger than Ruin. It towered over both Sun and Moon as well. Its front paws looked more like they belonged on a bear or a sloth whereas a pair of large triangular shaped ears with small tufts of fur at the end looked more like the ears of a lynx. It also had long razor-like talons that looked sharp enough to cleave through all the animatronics present like butter. Its large slitted eyes were a brilliant gold tinged ever so slightly with red around the pupil. It also didn’t look built structurally like an anteater either, no, its body seemed to be physically built more comparable to that of a full grown silverback gorilla than an anteater.

“What is THAT?!” Moon asked, staring at the frickin huge animal that had suddenly appeared with those two in only the few seconds since he and Sun had turned their backs turned.

“My pet.” Eclipse answered simply as he reached up and pet the large creature behind one of its tufted ears. “He’s named Baku. He’s an anteater.”

“That is not an anteater.” Sun said in a quiet, stunned voice. Earning him an eye roll from Doctor Eclipse.

“Look I don’t think it’s really an anteater either. All I know is it came out of my dimensional portal when I was dismantling it. Long story short, I found out it eats disease and illness. Doesn’t outright cure anything itself, but it helps A LOT. And in my line of work, he’s invaluable to have around the hospital. And good results made my boss shut up and stop asking questions.”

“To be fair I think she stopped asking questions a long time ago.” Ruin chimed in while gently patting the animals huge shoulder. “Eclipse was also telling me about how you’re considering bringing Nexus here. Honestly that would be a good decision on your end. The mental state he’s in is far past your ability to help and while the doctors here aren’t miracle workers, there’s at least a chance he could get some effective help here.”

Moon grabbed Sun by the arm to prevent him from storming away in anger at Ruins words…

“Also, rest assured that I will have the bare minimum of contact with him as I possibly can.” Ruin added as he noted the look of anger growing on Suns face. “I can’t say I won’t have any contact with him. That’s impossible given my position here and how Nexus is undoubtedly going to behave. But what interactions there would be, shall be kept brief and professional.”

“You expect me to believe you can be ‘professional’ when you hate him?” Sun growled.

Ruin sighed in a way that sounded more tired than annoyed. “Contrary to what you believe Sun; I don’t hate Nexus. I feared what he could do when he had that malignant power of his and I pitied him for how broken his mind became. But I never hated him.” His words got him a bit of a strange look from Doctor Eclipse even if he said nothing. But then Ruins expression abruptly changed and suddenly he was smiling and then turned his attention to the ‘anteater.’ “Yes well, come along you great sniffy beast; let’s get you over to the Children’s Ward.” And with that he turned and started trying to push the giant animal, presumably in the general direction of the aforementioned Children’s Ward. Of course, his attempts to move the creature that undoubtedly weighed far more than Ruin himself was a futile act, but the beast seemed to roll its eyes before starting to walk in the direction the small animatronic was trying to direct it. “Nice seeing you again Sun and Moon… and Eclipse don’t forget your brother’s birthday this weekend. You’re in charge of picking up the cake.” And with that Ruin and the anteater rounded a bend in the hallway and they both disappeared.

There was a silence in the hall between the three that still remained there. Only interrupted by the standard shuffling of nurses and patients walking past them and going about their business. It was now officially awkward.

“Your brother? Which one…” Sun asked coldly. Breaking the silence and at the same time somewhat trying to change the subject as much as he could.

“Lunar.” Eclipse stated simply. “He’s the CEO of his own gaming company and he’s become a multimillionaire a hundred times over. But you don’t actually care about that, you don’t really care if I continue to show you the rest of the facilities we have here. So why don’t you stop wasting everyones time and answer me outright… do you or do you not want me to get you the paperwork to admit your brother here for evaluation and treatment or not? Because I have other things I could be doing right now other than showing you two idiots around.”

“Like Ruin?” Moon said cheekily. Doctor Eclipse didn’t reply verbally, he just picked up his cane and zapped Moon again. His very judging glare never leaving Sun.

“You deserved that.” Sun stated flatly as he returned the glare that Eclipse was giving him.

Sun didn’t like this; he didn’t like ANY of this. Even now as he locked his eyes with this Eclipse it wasn’t anger that was driving his reactions… It was the overwhelming fear at the thought of leaving his mentally ill brother in this place. But Sun had lived with anxiety long enough to know that it wasn’t the anteater, Eclipse or even Ruin that was deterring him from choosing this hospital… he would be just as hesitant to send Nexus anywhere else.

“I... I don’t… I don’t want to fail him again.” Sun whispered as he finally broke his gaze from Eclipse and suddenly became very interested in staring at the surprisingly clean floor. “If I say yes to bringing him here, I feel like I’m failing him all over again. Between the anteater and Ruin of all people being here… I feel like I’m leaving him in a place that’s just setting him up to end up worse than he is!”

“Sun I literally don’t think he can get any worse.” Moon muttered.

But surprisingly enough, Doctor Eclipses expression had lost some of its coldness hearing Sun speak about his fear of failing Nexus again. Evident when he spoke his voice was much calmer and lacked its usual sarcastic or cold undertone. “You have done everything you can for him, now it’s time to let people who actually specialize in helping others mentally take over from here.” He straightened up a little and shifted his cane between his hands and seemed to adjust a setting on it. Presumably something to do with its taser function. “You would only be failing him now if you deny getting him the help he needs when it’s being offered. As Ruin said, we’re not miracle workers… but we are professionals who deal with troubled people regularly. So, the ball’s in your court now. What do you want to do?”

“…okay.” Sun finally said, his voice barely louder than a whisper. “Let’s try this. But if this starts to go wrong, we’re pulling him out immediately!”

“Understandable.” Eclipse said with a slight nod and apparently satisfied with how this entire situation resolved. “Now just one thing before we continue.”

And with that he zapped Moon once more with his cane, only now it was significantly stronger and sent him flying across the hall and into the wall, which he slid down and after a moment of being dazed managed to regain himself.

“What the hell was that for?!”

“I don’t like you.” Was the only answer that Doctor Eclipse gave before he tapped his cane on the ground twice, presumably shutting it off or some other unknown command that was built into it.

“Now follow me and we can get you both started on the massive pile of paperwork you’re gonna need to fill out.”

Nexus hated this place from the second that they brought him into it.

But he couldn’t do anything about it, accept glare hatefully out at the world from the confines of the special wheelchair he was currently cuffed into. Something Moon had built, a larger wheelchair for Nexus’s lanky body with magnetic cuffs on the wrists, upper arm and his ankles. Nexus wasn’t weak, but he wasn’t able to break free of these restraints no matter how hard he tried… and God knows he tried. But all that trying just left him tired out, so he could do little but just glare out at the world as he was wheeled into his new ‘room.’

By hospital standards it was a very nice room. It was private and rather spacious; it had a reinforced window that overlooked the outdoor courtyard that was used for non-violent patients or the ones that weren’t any sort of flight risk… someplace that Nexus would not be spending any time in anytime soon... There was a desk and a light and Sun quickly set up a few books on it as well as a few sketchbooks and some crayons, because Nexus wasn’t allowed any sort of pen or pencils. There was also a large bed with purple bedding which Sun had picked out and bought beforehand and the staff had put it on the bed while they had been signing Nexus in and Eclipse had given him a preliminary evaluation… which had gone exactly how you’d expect…

‘He’s aggressive, violent and an absolute fucking asshole.’ Was Doctor Eclipses professional psychiatric evaluation and that was now written right at the top of his medical chart.

“So your room is all set up and clean. I brought you a few things that you might like and I promise I’ll be here to visit you every week.” Sun said as he gave a look over of the room before placing a framed picture of himself, Nexus and Solar on the desk before he turned his attention back to his restrained younger brother. An action which just earned him a cold, malicious smile spreading across Nexus face.

“Oh, really? You picked out stuff for me? Let me guess it’s just shit Moon likes and you’re pretending it’s for me right?” Nexus said with his voice dripping with poison. “Let’s not pretend ANY of this is for me. Moon wants me gone and you’re going along with it and pretending its for my benefit. Some brother you are…”

“Nexus that’s not-” Sun started but was interrupted by Moon coming into the room and looking around.

“So this is your new home huh? It’s nice, but it better be nice for all the extra money we’re paying for it.” Moon grumbled as he looked around the room. But of course, his presence immediately made Nexus eyes narrow and he didn’t even bother with trying to mock Moon the same way he had done to Sun… he didn’t hide his hate for him at all.

“Fuck you.” He growled.

“No thanks sweetheart; but maybe you can find someone equally as insane as you are in here to fuck you instead!” Moon sarcastically replied in the same poisonous tone that Nexus had used just a moment beforehand.

“Moon stop provoking him!” Sun snapped!

“All of you get out!” Doctor Eclipse snarled storming into the room and glaring at every single person in it. “You two! Say goodbye and out NOW!” He commanded. “And for the love of God don’t turn those cuffs off!”

“Wasn’t gonna.” Moon grumbled. “Later Nexus. Hope they fix you!” He said walking out of the room and flipping Nexus off as he walked out.

“Moon, damn it…” Sun started but stopped realizing there was literally no point in arguing with him. “Nexus, look this place… it might be able to help you. It’s highly recommended for-”

“And fuck you especially!” Nexus spat. And before Sun could say anything else, Eclipse put a hand on Suns shoulder and firmly guided him out of the room. Once they were out Eclipse took out a key and immediately locked the rooms door. To which he then looked at Moon.

“Alright, now you can unlock those cuffs.” To which Moon pulled out a small device that looked simply like a small red button on a keychain… with a small toy alligator also on that keychain… and pressed it.

There was silence for all of 5 seconds and then there was the sound of something breaking…

“And there goes the picture you gave him. Knew that thing wasn’t going to last a minute once he got loose.” Moon said with a roll of his eyes although he then proceeded to place the button in Eclipses outstretched hand and then was quickly put in his pocket. “I hope you know he’s gonna devote every minute of his free time to escaping.”

“Don’t worry, Bloodmoon’s our security guard. If he tries to escape, he won’t get far.” Eclipse said with a slight laugh. Of course, the looks that got him from both Moon and Sun made him add. “Don’t worry, he’s tame… ish.”

“H-How the hell did you manage THAT?!” Moon asked in disbelief while Sun just stared, with his left lower eyelid twitching slightly.

“Wish I could say I had anything to do with that miracle, but I didn’t. No, that was all Foxy. Probably the greatest counselor and therapist I have ever met. He’s a bit of a hippy, but he somehow tamed the psychopath. Enough that Bloodmoon refers to him as his father and genuinely cares about him. He got the security job through our coroner, who he’s dating. I was just an unwilling reference… he may have turned over a new leaf but there was no way in hell I was gonna test my luck if he didn’t get the job he wanted.”

“Is… Is this Foxy employed here?” Sun asked hopefully.

“You’re two years too late.” Eclipse sighed. “He retired two years ago after his wife died. He’s in fulltime dad-mode to his kid right now. Shame though, Nexus is the kind of patient I would have tried to pawn off on him too.”

“Wait…” Sun said as something else clicked a little late for him. “Did-did you say that your Bloodmoon is dating someone?!”

“Yeah, our coroner. She’s a weirdo but good at her job… and good for him too. Or maybe he’s bad for her, I dunno. They’re happy though and he’s not killing people anymore. So, I guess that’s all that matters in the end.”

Sun was going to continue asking about that when Moons voice rang out. “Sun, let’s not focus on how you literally losing to a Bloodmoon in the romance department.” Those words shut Sun up and he gave a cold glare at Moon who didn’t notice. He just looked completely done and waned to leave at this point. “Is there anything else you need from us?”

“The schematics for that wheelchair; that’s a keeper, especially for other future problem animatronic patients. Other than that, no we’re all done here. We’re just gonna let him get settled for the rest of today and he’ll have his first therapy session tomorrow. I’ll inform you how that goes. But after that updates will happen more on a weekly basis.”

“I plan on visiting him weekly so you can give me updates then.” Sun explained and Eclipse nodded and Moon just rolled his eyes as they finally turned to leave…

And Sun could only pray that they hadn’t just made another horrible mistake…
