Work Text:
An impending wedding date is a cause for great elation, to be sure, but the stresses of planning such an event can certainly take a toll on even the steadiest minds. For Asa Fell and Anthony Crowley, the organization of it all took nearly every moment, and any free time was spent in happy exhaustion.
It was Bee— Anthony’s sibling and Best Person for the wedding— who had the idea.
They’d tell Anthony how Gabriel had won some contest at work, won tickets for a special exhibition at the V&A in Kensington, and now they couldn’t go, what a shame, would Anthony take the tickets, they knew Asa carried a particular love for that era of sculpture…
In the end, Asa really did love the exhibit, after Crowley bundled him into the car and refused to tell him where they were going, giddy smile on his face.
The pair held hands as they strolled through the museum, pointing out details in various paintings and laughing as they took turns telling stories for the subjects in each— Anthony put on a high-pitched falsetto to speak for a duchess’ portrait, Asa mimicking the gruff duke.
The small terrace café offered cocoa, and by the time the couple reached the statue exhibit, they were acting like lovesick teenagers. Asa laughed so hard he snorted as Anthony mimicked the exaggerated poses, and a game of hide-and-seek developed, earning them quite a few stern looks from other museum-goers. They ducked behind pillars to steal kisses and whisper teasing little things into each other’s ears, blushing and beaming when they emerged.
Later, when Anthony learned of Bee’s plot, he couldn’t bring himself to be the slightest bit upset. How lucky was he to have such a wonderful family, to get to marry this wonderful man?
