WARNING
There are some things that are important to know before you get started reading 'Sweet Little Doe'.
First of all, read the damn tags. They're important and will likely be added to as the story goes on or if I've forgotten something. This is a Pitch Black Dark Romance, and the tag Dead Dove: Do Not Eat, is important. If you're uncomfortable with non-con, dub-con, and somnophilia (both consented and unconsented) this story is very much not for you. If reading descriptions of cutting/slicing/stabbing with knives and other instruments makes you uneasy, then this story is not for you. If you do not like unplanned/forced pregnancy, breeding kink, and birth control tampering, this story is not for you.
The main female character, Delilah, is 25 years old and not a virgin, but has never been in love before. Throughout this story she suffers from a traumatic brain injury caused by the main male character, anxiety, depression, fear of pregnancy, and attraction to a man who she thinks for some time is her father. She is submissive, loses a lot of agency, but slowly gains more agency later on in the story. She does not make the MMC a better person, the MMC makes her a worse person.
The main male character, Elijah, is 40 years old, not a virgin, but has never truly been in love before, nor believes he is capable of love. He is a man who is obsessed with blood, knives, and seeing how the human body looks when it is cut and injured. He never intents to end a life, but it happens, and due to his intense desire to watch people bleed and how unlikely it is that they will agree to this willingly, he is a serial killer.
Elijah is autistic. This is not the reason for him being a serial killer, nor does it excuse any of his actions, it is simply a part of him. He has some 'odd' tendencies due to this. He stims both physically and vocally. He struggles with loud noises, overhead lights, and crowded places. Elijah likes things to be exactly as he wants them, how and when, and gets frustrated when they aren't. He has trouble regulating his emotions, and has often been made to feel as though what he's going through doesn't matter. He suffered intense abuse as a child, and also struggles with harming himself.
I am an autistic person myself, and I do not want Elijah to be taken as a representation of autism as a whole. He is simply a representation of a very fucked up man who also happens to be autistic. Some of his stims are dark and messed up due to his fixation on blood and the body, but this doesn't mean it's "normal" or a representation of how autistic people should or should not behave.
The themes of 'Sweet Little Doe' are incredibly dark, and do not represent how a romantic relationship should happen in real life. Elijah is abusive. In real life Elijah should be in prison and Delilah should be in a mental hospital getting serious help at the end of the story. Yet, this is not how the story will end. The story will end in a happily ever after for them as a couple, despite the fact that there's no possible way for it to end that way realistically; because this story is not real. None of what I am writing in this story should be taken as realistic or condoned behavior.
