Chapter Text
"-And then she told me that some bitch decided to hook up with her man," You weren't really focusing on what Ameile was talking to you about until she said that sentence, "Ahem, ahem. I beg your finest pardon?" You questioned, before eventually going back to devouring your well deserved wrap after taking a 17 hour patrol South-east of Jackson.
You didn't notice Maria behind you, holding your very precious, very smutty CD's above your head until Ameile snorted and pointed above your head. You look up, before snatching your very precious CD's from her, "Why do you have my favourite videos that I use when I'm sexually alone, Maria?" You qyestioned, this time to the woman that was but wasn't considered a senior citizen. "They fell out of your bag when you were walking back to somewhere or someone." She said with a cold tone, but no signs of actually intimidating you.
Ameile began to full on cackle at the sight of you clutching the CD's to your chest, choking on her food in the process, and the slobby mess landing right in the middle of your wrap. Just great Ameile, now wait until I stuff a sock down your throat in your sleep, you thought to yourself, putting your 'interesting' CD's back in your bag.
She stared at you across the bar, taking interest in your personality. You reminded her of Riley. That Riley. The one that joined the fireflies but got infected. Yeah, trauma dumping to yourself is kind of depressing. Ellie took a swig of her water, feeling a bit sick after not listening to Dina even after she practically begged the freckled woman to wear a coat, to which she didn't, which lead her to now, sitting in a bar and overdrinking tap water.
You and Ameile eventually left at around quarter to 11, making your way to the playground, where you and Ameile were earlier before getting breakfast. For some context, you and Ameile had met while you were in the process of trying not to get your stupid self bitten by a pesky runner, you were 15, out of ammo, devastated after witnessing your parents die in a heartbeat. She was in the same building as you, praying to herself that it wasn't a trafficker or a smuggler running around the place; It went on for quite long enough to the point where she went downstairs herself, before skilfully shooting the runner in the head. After all of that, you two were practically glued to eachother.
The End.
Of the Beginning.
You were oogling at the girl infront of you, she just looked so damn pretty, you wanted to evaporate into absolutely nothing and nothing, you'd kill to just breathe the same air as her, she was so, so dreamy, you didn't even notice that you were pushed until you face planted into her back. Ellie just stood there, wondering who the hell just landed face first into her already aching back, "'scuse me? Do you uhh, mind?" The brunette questioned, looking at the presumably younger woman, before looking back ahead of her. You eventually got off of her and mumbled a sorry loud enough for her to hear.
Ellie didn't say anything, just staring ahead of her, again, just a simple "hmm". She sort of forgot why she was even in line (typical fern hc's to Ellie bru) so she turned around, only to find the short woman long gone, now conversing with someone seven people infront of her; And with Ellie being the awkward-confident pre-adult she was, she went up to her, " Hey, sorry to bother, but uhm, why are we in line again?" The brunette questioned. You just stared before saying "We're in line because of something that I forgot. Ameile, please enlighten us two clueless nest of a crow and a robin on why we're in line again? Please?"
Ameile stared at the two, dumbfounded, before saying in the most sarcastic tone ever, "We are in line because there is a fine stock of stuff to do some amazing crafts. We're here because we're waiting to go in a 'carboot' but it looks more like a 'tableboot', okay?" The three of you just stood there in awkward silence, until some rando decided that they were gonna take the toilet in their trousers, with the urine landing two inches away from Ameile's shoes.
"Do you fucking mind?! I don't wanna have piss scented converese, y'know?" Ameile spat, eventually realising that it was one of the very old, very senior citizen people of Jackson. You were trying so hard not to laugh, biting the inside of your cheek until you tasted blood.
Moving on from... Whatever that was, you stuffed your hands in your pockets, feeling something sticky inside. Holy mother of fucking GOD. You had completely forgotten about the Toffee yum yum thingy you had left in your pocket, speaking of which, where the hell was the packaging for it?! But oh well, it's happened now anyways, what could you possibly do about it now?
After that 'tableboot' finished, with you getting some music albums of Queen, a few books, an ancient pair of earphones for an mp3 and a pack of battered markers, you settled on coloring some of your also ancient drawings from two years ago, wincing at how bad your drawings were. There was a portrait of Ameile, in that massive winter jacket from the very abandoned mall you went to to squat there for a bit, and GOSH, were the face porportions off by a mile, you could consider the face asymmetrical. You eventually stopped and stared at the blue haired girl on the poster you got from your older brother, noticing exactly how... Exposed the girl was, wearing a skirt and jacket over lingerie is not really the way to cover it up, and you're honsetly surprised that you haven't ripped the poster apart, maybe it was because it belonged to your now infected brother.
Now in the present (again bc I can don't bully me lol), you, Ameile and Ellie are on patrol, assigned to you by Tommy, the one that started Jackson, the reason why you haven't gone insane yet, the reason why you haven't jumped off a cliff out of pure depression. Anyways, you three were walking towards an old police station, having left your horses nearby, somewhere safe to be specific. The three walked into the station with caution, not wanting to attract any attention to the group of immature pre-adults. Ameile walked somewhere else, and Ellie was looking through the cupboards like her life depended on it, which it didn't, but oh well, what to do about that now.
You stealthily walked through the station, not noticing the stalkers around you, until one lunged at you. You let out a cry of shock and fear altogether, quickly trying to grab your abused shiv before the shiv landed right in the stalkers neck, and the skull. Great. That was the only one you had left, and you don't have any blades or cloth to make another one, and your pistol was loud, like, big bang type of loud. Ameile ran to where you were, now pushing the limp stalker off of you, before standing up. "I'm clean, no bites or anything. And I'm okay, Amei."
Ameile breathed a sigh of relief. " I thought I'd have to shoot the love of my life for a moment." Ameile mused in sarcasm; you seriously have no idea how Ameile can act so lesbian so casually while in a building potentially filled with infected. The two of you eventually went looking for Ellie, who was now out of breath from running away from a runner, which is now dead, its lifeless body laying in a pool of blood. "Urmm... Did you need help? Sorry we weren't there to help, it's on us honetly." Ameile said, while you stared daggers into the back of her skull. On us? I was literally about to get eaten out by a stalker, which wasn't my fault, and you're saying it's on us?! You thought to yourself, letting out a quiet sigh of annoyance, before the three of you delved deeper into the station, eventually being met with spores; the three of you putting your gasmasks on before opening the door to your possible deaths.
The room was blurry, because of the spores, obviously, with the trio putting on their flashlights, before being interrupted by the sounds of clicking. Well fucking done Tommy. Sending two stupid girls and one depressed looking girl on patrol to a station with guaranteed clickers and a possible bloater, if the three hadn't gambled their luck on anything. You let out a very quiet whine of annoyance, while Ellie facepalmed and Ameile mentally slapping the life out of herself. It's not like the three of you hadn't encountered a clicker before, they're just pesky to deal with. You, for once, left Ameile and went with Ellie, since you didn't have anything quiet to kill a clicker with. "I've never been so scared in my life until now. You?" You whispered to Ellie, getting another "Hmm" as a response. You were about to make a comment on her Hmm's until she said "I'm not scared, I'm just worried about how this is gonna turn out." Ellie mumbled, before you two continued venturing in the darkness.
