Amity was either about to make the best decision of her life, or the worst. Either Luz would reject her and they could, hopefully, go back to the way it was and never speak of it again or Luz would feel the same and they could date.
Amity steeled herself ever so slightly and walked over to the human girl the witch had had a crush on for Titan knows how long at this point.
“Hey, Luz.” Amity started before the other girl turned around. “Oh, hey Amity!” Luz chirped.
Luz felt those familiar butterflies rise in her stomach. Gahh! If only I knew what that meant, I guess these are what best friends feel about each other right? Luz didn’t know what it was but using that word, friends, to describe her relationship with Amity… it felt… wrong somehow.
Luz didn’t understand that. Why does saying that we’re friends feel so wrong?
“I-If we could speak… in uh, private? Please?” Amity stammered out. Here goes everything. Amity could feel her neck tighten as Luz stood up and followed her out of the cafeteria.
Once they were both out in the hallway Amity swallowed. Too late to back out now.
Amity took one more deep breath before risking everything she had with the human. “D-Do you w-want to go out… w-with me?” Amity forced out. Welp, no turning back now.
Luz, to say the least, was shocked. Amity’s Grom crush was… me?
All Luz could say was a small “Oh.” What do I do, What do I do, What do I do! Do I tell her no? Do I just see how it goes? Aghhh, but that might ruin what we haveee. Luz sighed, she would just have to let Amity down gently, but why did doing that feel… wrong somehow?
“Amity, I am flattered that you feel that way, but… I just… don’t feel the same way.” Titan, why did saying that feel so wrong?
Luz noticed the way Amity’s face dropped and was quick to comfort her. “Hey, it’s okay, we can still be friends if you want.” Luz said. Amity just sighed, “Definitely. Well, I got to head to class so see you later?” Amity asked.
“You know it!” Luz chirped as she turned around to head to class.
Throughout the day Luz kept thinking about why rejecting Amity had felt wrong. It didn’t make any sense.
As the day went on Luz thought more about it. Close to the end of the last class of the day she finally figured it out.
Oh.
Oh.
I DO have a crush on Amity!
With this new found information Luz ran out the door to get out before Amity so she could talk to her.
She waited for a little before finally seeing Amity walk out. Luz walked up the steps to meet her. “U-um, hi Amity.” She said nervously.
Amity noticed Luz’s nervousness in her voice and worried that she may have caused it, which wasn’t helped by Luz saying “Can we talk… about earlier.”
“Oh! Uh, y-yeah, we can…” Amity trailed off as she walked down the steps.
“Okay great! So, um, after you asked me out, I did a little thinking about how I felt about you.” Amity started silently panicking about what Luz was going to say next. “And I realized I actually do feel the same.” Amity’s eyes went wide.
“R-really?” The witch stammered. “Yeah.” Luz said simply as she nervously rubbed her neck.
Amity gulped, preparing herself to ask the same question as earlier.
“So, would you-”
“Do you want-”
The two girls started speaking at the same time.
“Sorry, you first” Amity offered, after all she had already asked.
“Do you want to go out with me some time?” Luz asked with a confusing amount of nervousness in her voice considering she already knew the answer.
“Well we already know the answer but for formality’s sake I’ll just say it. Of course I would!” They both giggled as they walked through the forest laughing and holding hands.
