Summary:

A silly Drabble in which reader hangs out with Nobara, Itadori and Megumi... However, some friendly flirting, jealously and bromance is goin' on?

Notes:

HI! haven't posted in a bit! I love megumi but he's so hard to write when I'm inherently more similar to yuuji!

Work Text:

Life at jujutsu university was… different from high school. It would be hard to explain how you met Nobara, but you could confidently say you met both Megumi and Yuuji through her.
These three were the reason university, with all its stress, was so far also the highlight of your life.

Your dorm felt hot, the heavy laughter creating a sticky humidity. It didn’t help you were laying under your blankets, staring at Nobara, who stole the side against the cool wall.

She was telling you about this Hello Kitty café she went to, consistently interjecting with “I need to leave in a minute, but!”

“And they were doing a collab with an idol, so I got a free sticker of her.”

“Of a random idol? What one?”

“Uh, she wears the sailor outfit?”

Yuuji was laying on the floor of your room; if you were looking, you would’ve seen his ears twitch, like a dog when they hear the mailman.

“Takada-chan!” He quickly sat up, looking between you and Nobara.

Nobara looked to the ceiling, finger on her chin. “Yes… how did you know that?”

“Are you an otaku??” You gasped at him, bringing your hand to your chest.

“Nope!” He turned his head like he couldn’t look at you. “But Todo is!” He pointed his finger up, smiling at you and Nobara as if to emphasize his point.

You and Nobara looked at each other, mumbling “ahhh,” nodding in unison.

“I’m glad I haven’t met him.” You flopped onto your back, staring at the wall. “He seems like he would be too strong for even me to handle!”

“And you handle Yuuji and Megumi,” you heard her laugh.

“Here we were having a nice conversation,” he said flatly, “and now you’re insulting me,” now dramatically feigning hurt. “Besides, Todo is a bro! But he does become tiring after a while.”

Yuuji stood up, walking to the end of your bed, and flopped down, head between you and Nobara’s stomachs.

“When he first met Megumi,” he whispered, like a gossiping cheerleader, “he asked him what type of women he likes…” He started laughing while speaking.

“And he said, ‘I like Yuuji’?” You looked the pink-haired man right in the eyes, unable to stop yourself from cracking a smile.

You watched Megumi for his reaction. He looked up from his phone. His face could only be interpreted as a mix of you guys are so fucking weird and just because I’d do anything for Yuuji doesn’t mean I’d freak. Of course, that’s just your interpretation as a psychology major. Either way, the flush of embarrassment on his cheeks was unusual, especially apparent coupled with the redness from the cheap alcohol you guys had been passing around.

“It’s a bromance. You wouldn’t understand.” Yuuji looked up and raised his shoulders. “But no,” his gossip voice turned back on. “He saaaiiiiddd… that he likes a compassionate person.”

You and Nobara giggled, not because the answer was stupid, but because Megumi might as well have been a sack of potatoes in terms of emotions. He never discussed his love life, he rarely expressed admiration for anyone, and he barely let his mask of pure nonchalance slip.

Well, Megumi was not happy Yuuji was airing him out. He was staring daggers at Yuuji’s head. Of course, Yuuji was unaware, giggling and cooing about how his little Megumi was growing big boy feelings, even kicking his legs.

You watched as Megumi’s eyes tightened with every “awww” from Yuuji until he stood up, standing at the edge of your bed.

You watched Nobara cackle as horror dawned on Yuuji’s face when he felt cold hands wrap around his ankles.

In one swift motion, Megumi pulled Yuuji off the bed. Well, he would’ve if Yuuji didn’t grab one of both yours and Nobara’s ankles.

“My feet!!!” Nobara swung herself around, kicking him off.

Yuuji lifted his chin from off the bed, lifting his head to look straight behind him. “Fushigurooo…”

Nobara sat up. “Man… I’m gonna go get apple juice from across the street.” She rubbed her forehead. “My head aches, and it’s sweltering in here.”

“Aw… and leave me with them?” You pouted. “Only if you share!”

She nodded, promising she would before leaving.

With that, you were left alone with Yuuji and Megumi, who were still arguing about something incoherent and nonsensical. However, Megumi seemed to have given up and started to retreat back to his comfortable position in your desk chair.

“So, y/n.” Yuuji jumped onto your bed again, replacing Nobara’s spot. His proximity made you a bit nervous, aware of the taboo-ness of a boy laying in your bed. Well, you both looked at each other. I mean, it’s Yuuji, but it would be lying not to acknowledge that he’s still a dude and attractive and blah blah…

“What’s your type?” He smiled, a mix of sheepish and playful.

You paused, extending your neck, raising your brows, rolling your eyes. But above all else, you couldn’t help but smile with the same emotions he did—sheepish and playful.

“Uhhh,” you said in a manly voice, “I want someone compassionate.” You raised your hand to your chest as if speaking your truth. Yuuji hid his smile.

“Hey…” Megumi’s voice warned. You pulled your legs up when he started approaching the bed.

“I’m kidding, I’m kidding! It’s a good answer, but the spirit of the question is to make you say something…” You looked for the word on your tongue.

“Perverse,” Megumi finished your sentence.

“Perverse?!” Yuuji was astounded based on his reaction. “No! It’s meant to be uhh…” Yuuji looked around as if this mysterious word would be scribbled on your bedroom walls.

“Either way, Itadori,” Megumi tilted his head, “it’s weird to ask.” You could tell Megumi wasn’t just saying that to take a dig at Itadori, but because he genuinely felt that way. “How else would I reply?”

“I said big butt.”

“Without being lewd.”

“Lewd?”

“Without being sexual.”

“If your mind immediately jumps to a sexual answer, then that’s on you,” you snickered.

Yuuji giggled at your joke and Megumi’s subsequent blank expression, clearly processing the fact he got called out.

“So then how would you reply?” Megumi sat on your bed, back against the wall, arms folded.

“Hypocrite?” You tried to avoid the packed question… but. “Well, I think you are both right… in your own ways?” you offered. “Like, Megumi is looking for something long-term, and uhhh, Yuuji is Yuuji.” You looked at Megumi. “He will grow.” You both nodded.

Yuuji smiled, unashamed of his likes. If nothing else, he knows what he wants.

“But how would you reply?” Yuuji said. “What is your ideal guy?”

You sighed. “Well, I guess a guy who is… independent? And strong, but not too strong. And it goes without saying that he’s kind and stuff.” You looked at both men, looking for a reaction.

However, both just nodded at you, then at each other.

“Ahhhh… so not Megumi. He’s too dependent on me,” Yuuji said, assured he was correct.

You and Megumi snorted, but you couldn’t help but feel confused as to his motives for saying that. Was it to insult Megumi? Did he actually believe that? Or was he using Megumi as a wingman for… you? It felt selfish to assume if a guy crawled into your bed, asked you your type, and made sure you knew he fit it… that it meant he was trying to flirt.

This entire interaction left you feeling a bit strange, like a strange tension was filling the air, making your cheeks warm as you looked between both men—both very attractive and definitely your type of men.

A content quietness settled between you all, each of you unsure what to say or do next. Looking ahead, Yuuji had a faint pink across his cheeks, perfectly matching his hair. His eyes looked into yours as if assessing your face. You both smiled shyly at each other.

You averted your eyes to Megumi, smiling at him. He was resting his chin in his hand but turned away when he saw you look at him.

“Well… I wonder where Nobara is…” you tried to ease the tension.

“Maybe Megumi should look for her.” Yuuji raised his eyebrows, clearly hinting something.

“Why don’t you?”

“I’m cold.” Yuuji shuffled closer to you, pouting.

“Now that you mention it…” Megumi plopped himself in between you two, on his back.

When you imagined being in bed with two men, you didn’t think you’d be the one third-wheeling so hard you were almost falling off the bed…

Speaking of it, you had no choice but to scooch closer to Megumi, causing a dark red to spread up to his ears. You couldn’t help but laugh at his face—eyes tightly closed, eyebrows crinkled, mouth in a line, clearly concentrating on trying to look unbothered.

Yuuji must’ve noticed Megumi’s adorable blush; he laughed alongside you. “Bro,” Yuuji said. It only made you both laugh harder. “Well, Megumi wanted to be little spoon and big spoon, I guess?” Yuuji rested his chin on Megumi’s shoulder.

“Awww, Megumi!” you giggled. “I’ll be big spoon.” You patted his shoulder. His brows only furrowed more.

Yuuji spun to face the wall. “Okay, I’m ready to be little spoon!”

Megumi was not moving, clearly not happy that you were both picking on him. But a little tickle under his arm made him turn away from you, allowing you to slot yourself in as big spoon.

“Now this is bromance,” Yuuji tutted.

“This is some of the weirdest and funniest shit I’ve ever been a part of,” you noted aloud. “It’s honest, though.”

“Yeah, I honestly don’t wanna be here right now,” Megumi deadpanned.

“Bro, don’t be scared. Cuddles are good for the soul.” Yuuji wiggled into a comfortable position.

Just then, the doorknob turned. An unexpected Nobara entered.

“What the fuck.”
