Stay forever, starry skies

Summary:

Wemmbu was left by his father at just the age of 12, having to build up himself into the adult world at such a young age, at age 15 his dad left twins and his door step and just left.

Hey maybe having those two can keep himself company.

Hey…

Why is he taking care of his four younger brothers at the age of 23…?

Notes:

Soo.. after a few words of encouragement from my previous book to post it, I have finally decided to post this work.

To be honest writing the first chapter so far is actually really fun.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Wemmbu was only 12 when his bitch whore of a father left him for a young woman after his mothers death. He lived a not so nice 3 years alone making ends meet. Being only a scrawny 12 year old and being malnourished means the townsfolk were a little bit skeptical to hire him. Lowkey if it was him even he wouldn’t hire him.

Luckily they took pity on him and offered him farming duty at the ranch down the road from his house. The family there was quite nice to him, always giving him extra payment and letting him stay over for dinner when it got too late.

Their only son is also such a lovely child. For a 5 year old, he’s quite talkative. He would follow Wemmbu around the barn, helping him feed the cows, plant the crops and just do simple barn work.

3 years later and his deadbeat dad suddenly arrived at the doorstep of his house with two children..?

“These two are your younger brothers, the oldest is Manepear and the youngest is Flamefrags. They’re twins and it’s your responsibility now.” That’s all he said before he left them.

What the fuck.

What is his problem bro.

He could see they both have thin shirts and shorts that barely fits the two. The clothes so ragged that it practically is begging to put it out of its misery.

“Uhm come you two let’s get you out of the rain and clean you guys up.” Wemmbu said as he ushered the two inside. The oldest, Mane was holding onto his brother by the hand, worried what Wemmbu might do to them.

“Come you two let’s get you guys into a bath.” Wemmbu helped them to the bathroom in his room and gave them their towels. “Can you two bathe together?” The two nodded, still sort of wary towards Wemmbu.

“You two go ahead and bathe. I'll find some new clothes.” Wemmbu closed the door and headed to the storage room downstairs. He rummaged through the storage trying to find his old clothes. Finally he found them in an old storage box at the bottom right of the storage.

He quickly went upstairs and back to the bathroom. He knocked on the door “Are you two done? I’ll leave your clothes at the door kay? I’m down at the kitchen when you guys are done.”

Man the fuck is up with his dad? He left him to fend for himself for 3 years and he just gave him twins? Knowing his dad, he might have to check the two for bruises. Man he’s actually really glad that his dad left the two at a young age. They don’t have to endure the abuse of their dad for long unlike him.

.
.

Hrmm what should he cook for the twins? Clearly they’re malnourished, could their tiny stomach handle regular food like pork chop? Or should he cook them soup base food?

Tiny pitter patters from the top of the stairs snapped him out of his thought. Mane was holding onto Flames hand protectively, like he’s guiding him through the house.

“Hey you two, would you two like chicken noodle soup or pork chops for dinner?” Wemmbu softly asked them.

Mane whispered to Flame, took a glance at Wemmbu, and whispered again.

Okay…

“Chicken noodle soup please…” Mane asked barely above a whisper.

“Okay! Just take a seat on the kitchen island over there.” Wemmbu started to make the broth in a giant pont just in case they’re really hungry. He put the noodles he hand pulled a few days ago inside another pot, letting it simmer in the pot.

“So… How old are you two?” Wemmbu took a seat in front of the two, trying to get to know the two. He could see Mane is a lion hybrid while his younger brother is a tiger hybrid and demon like Wemmbu.

Huh how does that work?

Maybe their mother had a lion and tiger genes mixed since both him and his father are demons.

“Uhm.. we’re 7..” Mane was still hovering near his brother.

“I realised I haven't introduced myself, well I’m Wemmbu and I’m 15!” Wemmbu introduced himself.

“Dad told us you're our older brother..?” Flame finally spoke, sounds like he barely talks at all with the way he talks.

“Mhm!”

“How come we have never met you before?” Mane asked while tilting his head.

Oh my god he’s so cute.
“Well… Our father had me first but left me here to be with your mother..”

Wemmbu stood up and left to finish cooking the chicken noodle soup, he put it into two big bowls and served it to them with a glass of plain water.

“Thank you..” they thanked him and tasted the food. Once they tasted the food, they completely devoured it in one go. Ah these kids are hungry.

“Do you two want more?” Wemmbu offered holding out his hands to take their bowl

“Yes please!!” “please”

Oh wow Mane really changed his attitude completely, he really won his heart with food huh.

Wemmbu smiled fondly at the two and poured in some more noodles in their bowls.

“Sure but don’t eat two quickly, if you eat too quickly it’ll make your stomach go unhappy” Wemmbu advise them before they regret it later on.

.
.

“Come Flame, let me bandage you up” Wemmbu tried to convince Flame to show him his body. He was currently checking their bodies for any bruises. They had a few bruises and cuts but nothing really bad. Only Flame had a giant gnarly wound at his left thigh.

“Yea come on Flame, he only wants to help you.”

“ If he bandaged me first would that help?” Mane asked Flame, wanting his younger brother to feel comfortable.

Wemmbu started to bandage the bruising that Mane had on his stomach. “See it isn’t that bad, it doesn’t hurt!” Mane showed Flame his bandaged stomach and began hitting his stomach.

“Whoa let’s not hit your stomach, that's going to irritate it even more.”

“Come Flame, let’s bandage you up next.” Wemmbu sat Flame on his lap. “ This is going to help your leg feel better.

“Okay…” Flame was still skeptical of it.

“Don’t worry about it Flame, your big brother will always be with you!”

Mane held Flames hand, squeezing it tight to give him comfort.

Wemmbu sprayed some disinfected onto the open wound, he heard a small wince from Flame and whispers of encouragement coming from Mane. Wemmbu then started to bandage the wound slowly and carefully not to wrap it tight.

“Anddd we're done! Good job Flame, you did so well!”

“We’re done..?” Flame asked with glossy eyes.

“ Mhm, come let's get ready for bed now.”

.
.
.
.

Wemmbu was currently helping the twins to bed, they talked for a while after Wemmbu had finished bandaging the twins and it really helped the two to open up. Now they’re acting like they had known Wemmbu ever since they were born and it genuinely warmed his heart knowing they warmed up this quickly to him.

“Wemmbu why do you have long hair?” Mane asked while still brushing his teeth.

“Oh cuz I look really nice with long hair” Wemmbu doesn't have really long hair in his opinion. His hair only reaches his shoulder.

“Do I look nice with long hair?”

“You look super beautiful with long hair! It’s really wavy!” Flame exclaimed, jumping up and down at the bathroom counter.

“Is your hair naturally purple?”

“Mhm!”

“Whoa that’s super cool! I have some blond hair and Flame has orange and blond hair like me!” Mane showed Wemmbu his hair while shaking his dreads

“Okay you two let’s get you to bed,it’s 1 am right now.” Wemmbu ushered the two out, until they were finally at the main door of the master bedroom.

“Wait, can we sleep with you..?” Flame softly asked Wemmbu while playing with the end of his tail. Mane nodded alongside him.

Wemmbu smiled fondly at them. “ Of course you two, come let’s get into my bed”.

Thankfully his bed is a queen size bed. Mane and Flame jumped onto his bed and got under the covers. “Let me get ready real quick aight?” Then Wemmbu left to go to the bathroom.

“Mane, Wemmbu is really nice to us..” Flame looked up to his big brothers. He really likes Wemmbu so far, he’s really nice compared to their father. He could hear the water running coming from the bathroom.

“He gave us clothes, made really good chicken noodle soup and bandaged us up, he’s way better than father could ever be” When father said he was going to leave them to their older brother who they have never heard of, they were scared at first. Because what if he was just like him?

“ But so far he’s super nice compared to father, I don’t think he’s like him. We can trust him.” Mane reassured Flame.

They heard the water go off in the bedroom and quickly hid inside the blankets while giggling. Wemmbu got out of the bathroom and noticed there was a giant lump underneath his blankets. “Oh I wonder where my cubs went to?” Wemmbu said sarcastically, searching the room for his younger brothers.

“Oh I guess they don’t want to sleep with me..” Wemmbu said with the saddest voice he could say.

“Nooo we want to sleep with you!” Flame jumped out from under the blanket.

“Ouh there's where my cubs went!” Wemmbu jumped onto the bed and gave the two the biggest hug they had ever received since forever. The cubs were giggling and nuzzled deeper into Wemmbu’s neck.

“Oh my cub, my sweetest ever cubs” Wemmbu said fondly to them.

And that was 2 years ago, the cubs are now 9 years old. Oh so much time has passed, his once malnourished cubs are now big and strong. One thing about tigers and lions is that they eat a lot. When he means a lot, he actually means it, Mane alone can devour a whole cow, and that’s on a regular day. When they finish training, both Mane and Flame can eat four whole cattles.

Oh they also took up basic fighting with the blacksmith downtown, the blacksmith, Jason, adores the twins. Technically, almost the entire town adores their family. To be honest who wouldn't? Such a nice caring older brother and his two adorable young cubs.

“Wemmbu! Look what we and Mr. Jason caught!” He turned around and saw Mane and Flame running up to him with a huge bucket full of salmon..?

“Oh what do you guys have there huh?” Wemmbu finish putting the leftover bread that he had gotten from the farm and crouch down to them.

“We were training near the lake then we saw a salmon jump out really high in the air like this!” Flame jumped up high in the air, demonstrating how the fish jumped.

“Yea than Mr. J told us it was breeding season for them, and once they laid their eggs they'd die so we fished for them so they won’t go to waste!” Mane said right beside his brother.

Looking into the bucket, they had caught quite a lot of salmon, around 7-9 of them.

“Looks like we're eating creamy salmon spaghetti tonight”

“Hell yea!” The twins jumped excitedly. The twins’ excitement was contagious, their voices carrying through the small town as they proudly showed off their catch.

“Careful, don’t drop them,” Mane warned, gently nudging Flame when he leaned too far over the bucket.

“I won’t!” Flame huffed, though his grip tightened around the handle. “I caught some of these myself, remember?”

“Yeah, because you almost fell into the river three times,” Mane teased.

“I did not!”

The bickering earned another round of quiet laughter from the nearby townsfolk. Even Mr. J, who had been watching from a short distance away, shook his head with a fond smile.

“You two always this loud?” Wemmbu asked.
“Only when we’re hungry,” Flame replied before Mane could answer.

The walk back home was filled with the twins arguing over who got the biggest piece of salmon. He loves the two to death and back but honestly they really need to stop bickering.

.
.
.

“MANE STOP!”

“NO COME BACK”

Mane was chasing after Flame with a salmon head around the kitchen.

“Dude leave me alonee!” Flame begged as he got onto the kitchen island.

“Come here my Prince Charming, turn me into your beautiful princess!” Mane moved the fish's lips up and down, as if it’s talking.

“Now what is going on here?” Wemmbu finally got out of the shower and was greeted by the scene right in front of him. His long purple hair is clipped back, ready to start cooking.

“Wemmbu tell Mane to stop!” Flame pleaded as he ran up to Wemmbu and hid behind his back.

“Mane throw the heads away.” Wemmbu told him in a playful serious voice. Mane grumbled and eventually threw the fish heads away.

Wemmbu tied an apron around his waist and took a fillet knife. “Now did you guys scale the fish as I told you?”

“Mhm!”

“Good help set up the table, it won't take long until dinner is ready” Wemmbu started to fillet the fish with precision. He doesn’t hear any bickering so far.

Huh

Maybe they can finally get a nice quiet dinner tonight.

“Flame the knife goes to the right.”

“No they don’t”

“Yes they do I literally sat them up so many times”

“No! I’m pretty sure they go on the left.”

“Ugh no they don’t! Wemmbu!”

Man

“Flame my light, they go on the right side of the plate.” Wemmbu sigh, maybe they won’t get a peaceful dinner. But who’s complaining? His house isn’t a home without his younger brothers.

“See! I was right! Listen to your older brother for once.”

“You're older by literally three minutes dumbass!”

“Wemmbu Flame called me dumbass!”

My god
.
.

They’re at the dinner table eating the spaghetti that Wemmbu has prepared for them. Wemmbu had finished his portion a while back. He was listening to the twins adventures today, what training they did with Mr. Jason today.

“Yea but than Flame got startled by Mr. J’s horse and jumped so high in the hair you know!” Mane laughed at his brother, food still in his mouth.

“Ughhh bro shut up!”

“It’s funny though!”

Listen to his brother's adventures today is always the best part of his day. Actually being around his brothers will always be the highlight of his day.

“Say, do you two want to go to the capital tomorrow?” Wemmbu asked after the table got quiet.

They haven’t been to the capital since their birthday last year. Money has been tight lately but finally after a few weeks of saving up and picking up different jobs, he had finally saved up enough money to treat them to a nice day out.

“The capital?!” “Yes please!” The twins said in unison.

“Well sleep early today kay? We’ll go early in the morning”
