June 1,2042
Saturday
9:45 pm
Dear Dairy,
Dad let me stay up late because I fell asleep in the car on the way to the new house! I have to share a room with Jasper though, but that's okay because Dad said that we get bunk beds! I told Jasper that I’m sleeping on the top.
In the car Dolly got to sit in the front seat next to dad. Blarie and Kirara sat in the middle row. While me, Alex and Jasper sat in the back, I told them we should have a party and hog all the snacks for us but Alex told me to not hog the snacks! Can you believe he would say such a thing? Kirara fell asleep within like the first 30 mins of the ride. The map thing said that the drive would be 5 hours and 43 mins, that's a pretty long time! I asked dad if I could go on my tablet for some of the ride, he said I could be on it for half the ride. I think thats about like 3ish hours… around there.
“Isn’t the view beautiful Doll?”
“Yeah, I guess It’d be better if the drive wasn’t so long”
“I told you to go to sleep but you wanted to stay awake” “I’m not sleepy” she shrugged.
“Are you excited for the new house?”
“Yea! I get my own room, new start, new friends…” she started to trail off looking sadly out the window.
“ Come on! Cheer up, didn't you say you wanted new friends?”
“Well yea but I liked my old friends too”
“well you know why we had to go, I’m sorry though”
“Well you're doing what's best for us so I can’t be mad at you” She turned away looking out the window. Diego started tapping his fingers on the steering wheel to the beat. Looking at the map he saw that they only had 10 minutes until they got to the house.
“Wake up party people! We’re here, well almost”
“I’m about to say this looks more like shops than houses” Dolly remarked, happy the mode would lighten with her siblings waking up and sharing their two cents. The rest of the drive was peaceful with everyone looking out the window trying to get a scope of their new surroundings. He pulled into the neighborhood, the kids marveled at how nice and big the houses are. “And we’re hereee!!” he sang as he turned the car off and got out.“Get your backpacks and I’ll unlock the door to let you guys look around and choose your rooms”. “Don’t we need our suitcases?” Jasper questioned, rubbing the rest of the sleep from his eyes. He got out of the car slinging his backpack on, as he was walking to the front door he looked back to see he would be the first one in the house. He rushed inside to get the first pick on a room.
Diego walked back to the car to unbuckle Blaire, spinning his keys and whistling.
“Can I share a room with you Dada?” She asked with puppy eyes as he got to her car seat and unbuckled it. He picked her up and put her backpack on his other arm.
“No, I was thinking you can share a room with Kirara” He sat her down when they got to the door, giving the bag to her. She ran off behind Kirara in search of a room.
“This house is really big!” She yelled, giggling when it echoed a bit because of the emptiness. She and Kirara raced around the bottom floor yelling hello into every room. They popped their heads into giggling and laughing as they rushed out the room like they got caught doing something they shouldn’t. Once they found looked at all the rooms on the bottom floor, they rushed up the stairs on all fours. Them shooting up the stairs could be heard through the whole house. They were greeted with a nice sized landing area and then a hallway. “It’s like even bigger up here than it is down there!” Kirara pointed back down the stairs. “Yeah, this house is massive!” Blaire agreed with her walking down the hallway.“Can we have the room closest to dada?” She turned to look at Kirara.
“Yea I think that's a great idea” Kirara said, stopping at the room second to the end with that room being the master room. They pushed the door open to make sure no one had got it already.
By the time Diego had got all the suitcases out everyone had chosen their rooms and were coming back outside to get the rest of their stuff.
“When are the moving people coming Dad?” Alex asked while wheeling his suitcase inside.
“They should be coming tomorrow or Monday” He called back to him. “Oh I can’t wait to get furniture, then I can make my room really cool” Ryland jumped in on their conversation, coming out of the house to get their suitcase. Once everyone got their stuff out of the car, Diego said he needed to go get some basic stuff and went to the store. Getting back home he put the stuff in its place.
“Do you guys know what you want for lunch?” Diego asked his kids who were in the living room. “ Idk” “burgers!” “Tacosell” “Pizza” “ Uhh how about Box in the rack I saw it driving in.” “ okay” “Yeah”
Diego had put the little kids to bed by now, asking his oldest to come down stairs to talk. “ O..k so I have to head to work like in ten minutes, and have a meeting or something for about two hours. Can you guys watch the others and make sure no one dies? “ Yeah, we can do that I better get something for my services though
“Yeah, I’ll pay you, but when I get back I have to go now” “Okay, bye” They yelled going their separate ways.
