Tomura Shigaraki has a crush on Pro Hero Deku and likes to romance his lookalike in video games.
Izuku Midoriya finds this absolutely adorable.

Notes:

I'm almost done with my other ShigaDeku fic and do I finish one of my other 20 WIPs? No. In this house we start a new ShigaDeku Fic.

Some notes: Tomura is still called Tomura, but he was rescued from AFO. Nana Shimura gave him the option of returning to being called Tenko or to be Tomura. On that note, Nana Shimura is alive and well. OFA quirk still passed through her and Yagi down to Izuku, but with less trauma.

Anyways enjoy my retelling of canon that bitch don't exist here.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Chapter One

Chapter Text

Izuku sat in his office at work, a stack of paperwork on his desk mocking him. He'd been putting it off all week, sneaking past the other pros in his agency who absolutely sit his ass down and make him do the work. Katsuki always left at least two other heroes in charge of making sure Izuku did the paperwork for his daily missions. The key was dodging them. But it was getting a little ridiculous at this point. Even Izuku could concede that point as he stared at the mound of incident reports needing to be signed off on.

Not to mention the reports Izuku himself needed to write for his own take downs for the week.

Katsuki had been out of the office all week on an overseas mission and if he came back to this mess of paperwork his partner hadn't bothered to do, Izuku would get his ass kicked seven ways to Sunday.

It just wasn't the first thing Izuku thought of when he thought about running a hero agency. He imagined more of a rough and tumble, getting out in the streets and getting the crime rates down. And while he had the chance to do that occasionally, weeks like this when Katsuki had other responsibilities meant Izuku was chained to his desk.

He'd managed to sneak off once or twice, but the majority of his day was spent trying to escape his office and getting dragged back after spending too long talking to the interns about their quirks. Thursday was a particularly rough drag back to his office after the alpha teenager from U.A. with a metal manipulation quirk got caught by Izuku for the better part of an hour.

Eyeing the stack of forms like it would dart out and bite him, Izuku stood and scooted around his desk. Speaking of the interns, Izuku should check in on them. Make sure they were settling in alright, make sure their mentors were treating them well.

Katsuki wouldn't be back for another day or two. Izuku had plenty of time to avoid doing paper pushing.

Alas it wasn't meant to be. When Izuku made it to the second floor where most of the interns were being trained, several of their sidekicks booted him out almost immediately. He walked back to his office sulking, shoulders drooped and disappointed that it hadn't worked out the way he wanted.

With a sigh, he opened up his office door. And immediately wanted to run the other direction.

"Deku, you little shit," Katsuki said, still decked out in full gear and sitting on the edge of Izuku's desk. He clearly just returned from his trip, skipping the front entrance to check on Izuku's progress himself.

"Kacchan! You're back early!" Izuku squeaked, door slamming shut behind him. Katsuki didn't look pleased and that meant less than pleasant times for Izuku. While Katsuki had calmed down quite a bit over the years, therapy doing wonders, he was still Katsuki.

And right now, he was thumbing through the pile of papers on Izuku's desk with an increasingly irritated scowl. "What the actual fuck, nerd?"

Izuku waved his hands in front of his body, already calculating how he could zip around Katsuki and out the window. "Kacchan, I can explain! I just -"

"This partnership agenda from Gas Legs has been here since Tuesday!" the alpha snapped, holding the offending piece of paper up in front of him.

"I was doing incident reports - " Izuku tried, knowing full well he was lying through his teeth.

But Katsuki held up several incident forms Izuku had yet to process. "Try again."

The strings cut from Izuku and he groaned. "Kacchan, paperwork in the worst."

"You're in charge around here, Deku," Katsuki said, bewildered. "Do your fucking job without having someone looking over your shoulder."

Izuku turned his big green eyes up to twenty. "Well, now the best partner in the whole world is back, maybe we -"

Katsuki laughed, shaking his head and slapping down the papers he'd been looking through. "Ha! There is no we here, Deku." He picked up his bags, shoving Izuku out of the way of the door. He went with a pathetic sound and Katsuki opened the door, turning to look Izuku dead in the eyes. "If that stack isn't gone by the time I come in to work tomorrow, I'm going to take a permanent marker to one of your All Might figurines," he threatened.

Izuku knew damn well he would make good on that threat, too. Katsuki didn't play around when it came to the official side of their hero agency.

"How the hell am I supposed to finish all of that tonight?" Izuku pointed an accusing finger at his desk and Katsuki simply shrugged.

"Guess you should have done the damn paperwork when it came in instead of putting it off. See you tomorrow, Deku."

The sound of the door closing had Izuku melting into his chair, already exhausted. If he knew Katsuki, and he did, he probably already clocked which figure it would bother Izuku most to have a mark on. And for Katsuki to

Two hours into the paperwork debacle, a knock came at Izuku's door. Without waiting for a response, Shouto popped in, holding up a bag of food. "I come bearing gifts."

Izuku groaned, face planting into the crime statistics report he was looking over. "Does that bag include a helping of Shouto Assistance?"

Shouto just shook his head, plopping down on the couch Izuku had in his office and pulling out his phone. "Nope. Katsuki said he'd send my dad a Father's Day card in my name if I helped you, so. Moral support it is."

Instead of picking up one of the reports on Izuku's desk, Shouto unhelpfully covered his desk in food. "I need the space, Shouto," he said tiredly, pushing hair away from his face. "I'm never going to be done with this."

"You should hire an assistant like I did," Shouto said with an unhelpful shrug.

"Kacchan won't let me," Izuku grumbled, scribbling his signature along the correct line before sliding that report onto the slow growing pile of completed work. "He says it's a waste of budget."

Raising an eyebrow, Shouto said, "And your work never being done on time isn't?"

Izuku made a mocking face, eyes wide as he imitated Shouto. "I don't need your sass, Shouto."

"No one ever needs the sass, but they deserve it," came the response and Izuku didn't really have anything to say back to that.

Shouto eventually left, leaving the room with a waved hand and no response, much the same way he entered. Izuku sighed laying down his pen and shaking out his hand. He loved Shouto, the other omega was a delight to be around. But it'd been dead silent in the office for hours and it was starting to drive Izuku insane. With a few clicks of his keyboard and mouse, Izuku brought up uStream and started scrolling through some game plays.

One of his favorite past times was watching other people play videos games. Before he and Katsuki went their separate ways as kids, Izuku would watch him all the time.

Now there were so many streamers who would play games and show off their skills or lack thereof. Tonight, Izuku wanted something easy, something calming to watch. He'd watched a few streams of this one 8bit farming simulator where you could romance town characters. There were a lot of players who modded the game as well, so it seemed like there was no end to what Izuku could watch.

Plus it just calmed him down. And he could use some calm right about now. He was three quarters of the way through his paperwork and needed something to ease his nerves. He wanted his nest right about now, wishing he was at home watching that interesting documentary about Thai heroes.

Finally, someone caught his attention in the streams.

Tomura wanted to destroy something. On purpose this time. He woke up as normal, ready to play his new game on the Swap 2. He almost had Deku completely romanced, was so close to being his in-game mate. Instead of claiming the man of his dreams, though, his goddamn glove game off in the night and he fucking decayed his Swap 2 console.

Again.

He couldn't keep replacing them like this. He got paid a decent amount being a uStream content creator, but not enough to help pay the bills and to keep replacing that damn game system.

With his half gloves firmly back in place, Tomura sat at the kitchen counter in boxers and an oversized t-shirt watching the morning news.

His grandma knew how much he loved to watch for his favorite hero and made sure to leave on the TV on for him whenever she went out before he woke up. Deku did a take down earlier in the week that news networks were still chatting about. It was a really seamless execution, if Tomura did say so himself.

Ever since Yagi Toshinori and his grandmother pulled him from the crazy bastard who abducted him after he'd accidentally decayed his entire family, Tomura had a certain respect for heroes. Not enough to become one himself, that would never happen. Too much spotlight, too many eyes.

Being a content creator for video games was the right amount of exposure. And Tomura didn't have to always have his camera on. Some days, he went hours without his camera, just because he didn't feel like it.

When the more violent games were being played, he tended to show his reaction more. When he played the MMO Fates 2, he left his camera on for the entire twelve hours it took to complete the newest campaign. But when he played horror games, he kept that shit off.

No one needed to know how easy it was to jump scare Tomura but his grandma and Yagi. A fact Yagi took advantage of all the time, much to Tomura's mortification.

"We haven't seen much of our favorite Number 1 Hero this week. Why do you think that is?" the news anchor asked, looking to her cohost.

The man adjusted his glasses and shook his head. "Well it looks like Pro Hero Dynamite is out of the country right now. Some speculation is that Deku can't handle the workload alone as an omega. I would personally say Deku is -"

Tomura turned the channel to something a little less anti-omega and a lot less anti-Deku. "Stupid motherfuckers," he grumbled into his cereal. They didn't see how hard the guy worked, always throwing his secondary gender around like an asshole.

Deku could toss villains through a wall, could propel himself forward like the WebMan comics of old with Black Whip, and could do it without Dynamite. Where Dynamite was a rough around the edges alpha, Deku learned to take his omega side and use it to his advantage. The people he rescued always had pleasant things to say about him, feeling safe and comforted in his presence.

Dynamite could never.

Finishing off his cereal, Tomura put his dishes in the dishwasher, wiping down the counter with a rag before hanging it over the sink. He'd bought the dishwasher after he'd decay several dishes trying to help around the house. It was hard to do when he needed to take off his gloves, so with his first paycheck, Tomura had the dishwasher installed.

It would made things easier for his grandma as she got older, too. Though if she heard him say that, she might kick his ass. Nana Shimura might be in her 80s but she kept active. She used her quirk as frequently as she could and had gentle sparring session with Sorahiko Torino weekly.

She, frankly, terrified Tomura.

But she'd been good to him. When they found him with All For One and defeated him, she'd listened to his story. She hugged him, told him that decaying his family was an accident. One he would carry the rest of his life, but to not let the guilt overwhelm him.

She didn't blame Tomura for the abuse he faced, both with his family and with All For One.

Tomura was an innocent in her eyes and he would never forget that. He kept the name Tomura, even though she didn't necessarily agree with it. He tried to explain that he didn't want to be connected to the family he killed.

And she'd let it go.

His grandma was an absolute saint.

Scratching at his neck, Tomura went to the bathroom for his specialized moisturizer, a commissioned gift from Yagi when he was younger and now he never went without. It helped soothe the itchiness caused by his quirk, helped make it to where Tomura didn't want to scratch his skin off.

Once he'd slathered himself in lotion, Tomura went back into his room to get dressed for the day. He had a couple of errands to run before he streamed. Speaking of…

Unplugging his phone from the nightstand, Tomura called his best friend Shuichi. They'd met online through Fates 2 as teenagers, having been in a raiding party together and they'd just clicked.

"Hullo?" Shuichi sounded half asleep and Tomura frowned. He was usually up by this point, on his way to uni classes.

"Why are you still sleeping?" he asked, holding his phone up to his ear and tying up his shoes.

"Cause its…oh, shit!" Frantic rustling came from the other end of the line and Tomura rolled his eyes.

"I was going to see if you had any suggestions for streaming tonight, but I think you're a little busy," he drawled, tapping the toe of his shoe on the floor to get it to fit just right. He peeked out the window, checking the weather. It was sunny, but the window pane was cool to the touch, so Tomura grabbed his hoodie before leaving the apartment.

He needed to get a little grocery shopping done before he settled in for the day.

"Look, I'll text you what I found last night, but I gotta go!" Shuichi hung up in the next second and Tomura shook his head. Shuichi was his best friend, but god, it was like watching a train wreck half the time.

Shuichi had his fair share of shit thrown at him, too. Being a heteromorph led to a lot of discrimination in his hometown. Tomura encouraged him to leave that piece of shit, backwater town and go somewhere where Heteromorphic quirks were a little more accepted.

Unfortunately, they still faced a good deal of discrimination, but it was less so in big cities.

So Shuichi moved as soon as his parents allowed, moving closer to Tomura in Hosu City. He liked it much better here, enjoying his uni classes and making friends with some other fucked up kids as well.

Nice to see things coming full circle.

Tomura walked down to the conbini on the corner, hands shoved into his pockets. The air was chilly, not quite winter yet, but getting close. Tomura hated the winter. It made his skin even drier, made him even itchier. He loathed going outside into the frigid temperatures.

Entering the conbini, Tomura grabbed a handheld basket and started down the aisles. They just needed a few essentials, a gallon of milk, bread, etc. Tomura grabbed a few easy to eat meals and snacks as well so he wouldn't need to stop gaming for a while. He needed to stream enough content to make up for his lost Swap 2.

Items paid for and bagged up, Tomura started his trek back home. He took a little bit of a different route home, wanting to see the new Deku billboard they put up last week. It looked great, a shot of him in his hero suit, surrounded by green lightning. It was to promote a new energy drink flavor, Electric Green.

But in any case, Deku looked fine as hell and Tomura took a selfie with the billboard in the background.

He shot the photo off to Shuichi, who replied with a barf emoji.

Shuichi liked to give him shit about his obsession with Deku, calling him a parasocial bastard. Tomura didn't care though. Deku was a hero through and through. There were a lot of fakes on the market, people like Endeavor who just wanted the accolades that came with being a hero.

But there were genuine people, like All Might and his grandma and Deku who tried so, so hard to be a good hero. It gave Tomura a bit of hope for the future.

His grandma still wasn't back by the time Tomura got home, so he assumed she was out being buddy buddy with Yagi and Sorahiko. Maybe they went to play bingo or something, he really didn't know.

He would send her a text later to check in on her, though.

Putting away the items he picked up from the conbini, Tomura set to cleaning up the apartment. He vacuumed, loaded up the dishwasher with the dishes from the previous night, and ran a load of laundry. While he waited for that, he flipped the TV back on, doom scrolling on his phone while he

By the time mid afternoon came around, Tomura had exhausted all other options for entertainment and chores to do. He'd texted his grandma and she said she would be out all day with Yagi and Sorahiko (he totally called it) and that she would pick up dinner for them on the way home.

Which meant Tomura was free to game the rest of the day.

Remembering that Shuichi was supposed to send him a text with whatever game he found, Tomura checked his text thread with him. Sure enough, there was a link to…a Deku mod for Sundrop Canyon?

Sundrop Canyon was one of his favorite chill games. He generally left his face up for it, chatting easily with his community of viewers as he mined for ores, harvested crops, or made friends with the locals. And this mod turned one of the locals into Deku himself.

Heart beating in his chest, Tomura booted up his computer, getting ready. He went to PortalMod, his favorite website to find modded content on, and typed the Deku mod into the search bar. Opening the necessary tabs, Tomura downloaded and installed the mod, excited.

He'd wanted to start a new farm for a while, but couldn't make a logical reason why. Now he could make a character look like him and make that character fall in love with Deku.

Who needed a Swap 2 when he could just romance Deku here?

With everything set up and ready to go, Tomura turned his camera on and set up his stream.

ROMANCING DEKU BITCHES - decaythat

And he was off.
