Fragile Threads

Summary:

After the bonding ceremony that made Felix immortal, “forever” proves far more fragile than any of them imagined.
Hyunjin, having sacrificed half his life force to ensure Felix survived the transition,
Felix now walks a precarious balance: idol on stage, graphic design student by day, and deeply regressed baby at home. With strict new rules — mandatory nap times, early bedtimes, and daily regression
As the immortal Council begins to scrutinize their triad — questioning Hyunjin’s fitness and Felix’s stability — external pressures mount. Public schedules become riskier. Old secrets threaten to surface. And the deeper Felix falls into regression, the more possessive and unyielding his husbands become.
In Book 2 of Threads of Eternity, love turns darker and more consuming. Hyunjin and Changbin will do anything to keep their husband safe — even if it means tightening the velvet chains around him. Felix must learn how to thrive in a forever where protection and possession are one and the same.

Chapter Text

The rooftop lights were still twinkling behind them as they descended back into the estate.

Felix walked between his husbands, one hand holding Hyunjin’s, the other wrapped around Changbin’s waist for support.
Hyunjin was leaning more heavily on him than usual — his steps slower, his breathing shallower. The sacrifice he’d made during the bonding ceremony had left visible marks: his once-brilliant wings were now softer, smaller, their golden glow muted to a gentle shimmer.

“You’re pushing yourself,” Felix said quietly, squeezing Hyunjin’s hand. “We could have stayed longer. Or gone home earlier.”
Hyunjin smiled, tired but radiant. He leaned in and kissed Felix’s temple.

“I wanted to give you a proper anniversary night,” he murmured. “My baby deserved something beautiful after everything.”
Changbin’s arm tightened around Felix’s shoulders from the other side.

“He’s right,” Changbin said, voice low. “But now we’re home. And you’re going to rest, Hyunjin.”
The moment they stepped inside the house, the shift was immediate.
Felix felt the familiar pull — the weight of the day, the overwhelming emotions of the bonding, the knowledge that he was now truly, permanently theirs. His body ached to be small.

Hyunjin noticed first, even in his weakened state. He guided Felix toward the nursery with gentle hands.

“Come here, sunshine,” he whispered. “Let Mommy take care of you tonight.”
In the nursery, Hyunjin lowered the crib rail with slightly trembling fingers.
Changbin helped Felix out of his date clothes, stripping him down until he was bare. The thick nighttime diaper was already waiting on the changing table — extra padded, with soft cloud prints.

Felix didn’t resist. He let them lay him down, legs lifted high as Changbin held them while Hyunjin cleaned him thoroughly.
The wipes were warm and gentle, the powder sweet and familiar. Hyunjin took extra time tonight, almost reverent, as if afraid to let go of even a second of caring for him.

“You were so brave today,” Hyunjin cooed softly, taping the thick diaper snugly around Felix’s waist. “Choosing us forever. Letting us make you immortal. My perfect, strong, sweet baby.”
Felix’s eyes watered. He reached up, needing more.

Hyunjin understood. He carried Felix to the rocking chair, opened his robe with tired hands, and guided his head to his chest.
Felix latched on with a soft, needy sound, nursing slowly as warm, sweet milk filled his mouth.

Changbin sat beside them, one hand rubbing Felix’s back while the other gently patted the front of his fresh diaper.
“Everything’s different now,” Changbin murmured. “You’re ours for eternity. But Hyunjin… he’s going to need us too. We’re going to have to take care of each other.”

Hyunjin let out a soft, exhausted sigh, stroking Felix’s hair as he nursed.
“I don’t regret it,” he whispered. “Giving you half my life force… it was worth it. But I’m… weaker than I expected. I might need my baby to be strong for me sometimes.”

Felix made a small, distressed sound around the nipple, suckling harder as if trying to give strength back. Milk dribbled messily down his chin.

Hyunjin chuckled weakly.
“Look at my messy boy,” he cooed, wiping Felix’s chin with his thumb. “Even now, you still need Mommy. And I still need you.”
The three of them stayed like that for a long time — Felix nursing quietly, thickly diapered and small, while Hyunjin recovered in his arms and Changbin held them both.

Forever had begun.

But it was already more fragile than any of them had imagined.
