Work Text:
It was an oddly quiet day at Lakewood Plaza. No Boxmore robot attacks all day. The heroes at the plaza were confused but chose to think of it as a blessing. Kind of like a break from all the attacks. Especially with the few days of multiple attacks in one day. Mr. Logic has notice and try not to think too much about it.
However, he couldn't.
His stomach and mind had that feeling of something horrible in the works. He rarely ever got that feeling. The harpy dove had been fighting the urge to look into Boxmore for some hours but he failed to keep himself from doing it. Luckily, Logic Cuts was getting fixed from an attack from yesterday. Having a burning robot throwing into the salon isn’t good. It did give Logic the chance to look more into the factory across the plaza. He knows the perfect place to do it without entering Boxmore.
It was Mr. Gar’s office.
Mr. Logic has Gar’s permission to enter at any time he would need to. The owner has a lot of trust in the harpy dove. Logic enters Gar’s Hero Supply & Bodega. Enid, Rad, and Ko were just messing around during this peaceful day. The X-tain was stacking cans while Ko held the box. It was in one tower of just cans. Enid was reading a magazine in one hand and had her phone out. Most likely filming the two. All three stop to look at the adult in the room.
“Oh hey, Mr. Logic” said Ko with a joyful smile.
“Hey” said the other two workers.
“Hello” replied the gray haired male with a small wave.
“What brings you here?” asked Rad with a raised eyebrow.
“Oh, it’s nothing. I’m just going to Gar’s office” replied Mr. Logic. His calm tone of voice was comforting sometimes. Also, it can be unnerving or creepy sometimes as well.
“Gar’s office?” asked Ko with a little worried look on his face.
“Yeah,” replied the harpy dove.
“Ko, it’s alright. Mr. Logic does go into his office sometimes.” said Enid.
“Really?” asked the black haired male with a raised eyebrow.
“Yep,” replied Mr. Logic with a soft smile.
“Alright!” replied the young hero before the three went back to doing what they were doing before.
The gray haired male walks over to Mr. Gar’s office. He opens the red door to what looks like a very tiny room. A single office chair and desk. There was one poster as well. A small lamp like light from old films hanging from the ceiling. Three filing cabinets next to the desk. Mr. Logic enters the dark room and shuts the door behind himself. As soon as he steps into the floor of the tiny room, it opens up like a trap door.
The harpy dove fell down and landed on his feet into the underground room. Mr. Logic fixed his glasses that got a bit sideways during the fall down. All the computers that were on the wall in front of him lit up the room with blue screens. Each screen was a camera in the plaza. There was a desk with three photos in frames. One was of Mr. Gar and the President of the Universe. The second was Gar punching Lord Boxman. The last photo was one of Silver Sparks from early P.O.I.N.T. days. A photo of Carol, Ko’s mother.
Mr. Logic just lightly shakes his head before turning to face the screens. The gray haired male started to type on the keyboard that was on the desk. As he typed, all the screens started to glitch as to find the channel he was looking up. Logic knew this was a risky thing to do but it is the only way he has kept up with anything in Boxmore.
Entering into the camera systems of the factory.
Mr. Logic pulled up a screen that was dark red. It was requesting a password. Logic type in the password that he has been using for years to enter the camera system. However, this time, it didn’t work. Instead it pops up the Boxmore logo with some small text underneath it. It took a few seconds before the gray haired male read the under text.
“Try better next time. Especially you. Mr. Logic.” in bold white letters.
The harpy dove froze and felt his heart in his throat. His eyes were wide in shock and a bit of horror.
“How did he know? Or did he always know?” The question ran through Mr. Logic’s mind. He tried again another way but the same thing happened. Anger and stress slowly filled the harpy dove’s body with each click of the keys. Even when Logic tried to hack into the system but it failed as well. His bird hand slammed on the table with enough force to shake it.
“Dammit!” he hissed under his breath. Mr. Logic took some deep breaths as he tried to control his stress and anger. His feather ears turn to behind him like a rabbit’s ears. They pick up the sound of the trap door opening. Someone was coming down the tunnel to the office. He turned around to face the end of the tunnel. The harpy dove waited for the person to land.
The person that came out of the tunnel was…
Mr. Gar.
He was back from a secret mission. The brown haired male was not surprised to see the shorter male in his office.
“Mr. Logic? What brought you here today?” he asked in his normal serious gruff voice.
“Gar, you remember how I told you that I've been feeling off about something lately?” asked Mr. Logic.
“Correct” replied Mr. Gar.
“I figured I would come here to check on my gut feeling by logging into Boxmore’s camera system. Something I have done many times before.” said the gray haired male.
“Correct. You’re the only way that I could see any plans Lord Boxman had cooking before they happened.” replied Gar. Mr. Logic just nods. The brown haired male noticed the serious and stressful look on the hair dresser’s face.
“What happened?” he asked.
“Lord Boxman has changed all passwords and codes to all of Boxmore’s systems. He is aware that I was the one going into the system.” replied Logic with a hiss hidden in his voice.
“Of course he had.” groan Mr. Gar as he crossed his arms over his muscular chest.
“What can we do now?” he asked.
“There is only one option but you won’t like it.” replied the harpy dove with narrow eyes.
“What is it?” asked the brown haired male.
“Going into Boxmore and sneaking around.” replied Mr. Logic. Gar was quiet for a bit.
“We can’t do it. All of the robots in and outside of the factory will be on and guard. Especially the ones that run around at night. Then you have Lord Boxman.” replied Mr. Gar.
Logic was quiet. His green eyes slowly look over to the taller man’s scars. Mixed burns, chunks ripped out, and scratches cover Gar’s body. He remember the day that Mr. Gar got the scars. It was the first ever physical fight the two had gotten into. Lord Boxman wasn’t allowing mercy for the hero. However, he stopped for some reason. Mr. Logic remembers helping the hero to the hospital.
“Logic?” asked the brown haired male. The gray haired male shakes his head and looks back up to the hero.
“Sorry, I just space out.” replied Logic.
“I know. I just hate how we lost out only access to any knowledge to the factory” he added with a low growl.
“I know. Don’t blame yourself. It would’ve still happened regardless how good anyone is.” replied Mr. Gar as he placed a hand on the harpy dove’s shoulder.
“I know” replied Mr. Logic with a tired sigh. There was a moment of silence between the two.
“Question” said the gray haired male out of the blue. Gar turned his head to the side and raised an eyebrow.
“Why do you have a picture of Carol in her Silver Sparks era?” asked Mr. Logic with a blank face. Mr. Gar froze and went dead silent. A few sweat drops started to form on his face.
“No reason” replied the brown haired male with a little blush on his cheeks. He looked away from the short male. Gar can feel the judging eyes of Logic. He learns quickly that he hates the feelings of those eyes judging him. It is like an eagle staring him down like prey.
“Aren’t you two dating now?” Mr. Logic asked.
“Maybe” replied the hero.
“Yay, you finally did it” replied the harpy dove with soft claps. His voice was calm but showed some happiness.
“Thank you” replied Mr. Gar with a soft smile.
The End.
