"Shadow. Step away from him now." Sonic lipped curled, walking closely to the other hedgehog who was standing over an injured Eggman.
Shadow's fist clenched. "Why? I don't understand I can- We can stop him right now. End him for good. End the suffering and pain that THIS man alone has cause. Yet here you are telling me to step away?"
Sonic continued to walk over to him. "You just don't...understand Shadow."
"What's there not to understand!? Because from my point of view it looks like you're finding reasons to not kill him. What are you that addicted to 'adventuring' that you'd let this, this monster to continue living. To continue to hurt your friends, other mobians, take over the world to build a dumb amusement park?"
"No!"
"Then why? Why keep letting him get away!?"
"Because I love him!" Sonic admits shouting. Shadow's ears pinned back as he registered what he heard.
"You...you're lying. There's no way." He clenched his teeth. "After everything he's done, to your friends, hell to you!"
Sonic stands in front of the doctor, glancing down relived to see him still breathing.
"It's not for you to understand...but as long as I'm here he will never win."
"You're not invincible Sonic. And the doctor incapable to love anything but himself."
Sonic sighs. "You don't get it Shadow, you never will. But just know if you land hand on him. I will kill you."
Shadow's nose scrunched. He looks at the doctor, on the ground, bleeding, weak. He looks at Sonic, the fire in his eyes letting Shadow know he's not lying. He scoffs before turning away.
"The day he ends up taking over the world, hurting your friends and killing you. Just know whose fault it is.."
With that Shadow teleports away.
