Stupid In Love

Summary:

Buck is in love with Eddie. Eddie is in love with Buck. They haven't said anything to each other about it. Everyone at the 118 knows and are frustrated with Buck and Eddie.

All it takes is a plan and a phone call to help one of them gather up the courage to say something.

Notes:

This is my first Buddie Fic, so I hope you enjoy it.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Buck knew he was in love with Eddie, in fact he's kind of always known. He just couldn't let himself believe that because there was absolutely no way anything could ever happen between them. Another reason why Buck couldn't let himself fall for Eddie was because as far as Buck knew, Eddie was 100% straight and would never reciprocate the feelings or even look at Buck in any way, other than being his best friend. So Buck knew he had to keep those feelings at bay and not let them out for the world to know.

Least of all Eddie.

Right now, he was avoiding going to the home he was currently sharing with the man by hanging out at Bobby and Athena's new place. He's always known he had someone talk to for just about anything in his pseudo parents.

"Buck, baby." Athena started.

"Yes, Mama?" Buck replied with.

"As much as we love having you here, you need to go home at some point. You know Eddie is probably waiting for you and mostly worried because you clearly haven't told him where you are, judging by the amount of times he's called or texted." Athena said.

Athena was right. Buck had in fact not told Eddie where he was going after their ended.

3 and half an hours ago.

So, yeah. Buck knew Eddie would more than likely be worried, but Buck couldn't really face him as much ever since he finally came to terms that he was indeed in fact irrevocably in love with one Eddie Diaz, his best friend of all time and he knew that those feelings would never go away, no matter how hard he had tried to push them down and ignore them.

He sighed.

"I guess I should probably go and let him know and see that I'm alive." Buck said as he got up, leaving the comfort of Athena's shoulder behind.

She nodded in agreement.

"I think he would deeply appreciate that." Athena said as she also stood up.

"Buck, you need to talk to him, because if there is something going on between the two of you, it needs to be figured out and sooner, rather than later." Bobby said as walked towards Buck.

"Okay, I'll talk to him."

Yeah, he was absolutely not going to do that.

He walked towards the front door.

"Thank you for letting me hang out here for a while." Buck said as he gave them a hug.

"It's not a problem, baby. We love you." Athena said, returning the hug.

"I love you too, Mama." Buck said as he opened the door.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Pops."

"I'll see you tomorrow, kid. Night."

Buck walked to his jeep, nervous for what was awaiting him when he got home.

He waved to Bobby and Athena as pulled away from the drive.

LA traffic was less busy at this time of night, but Buck was silently hoping that it would take a little bit longer to get home because he was desperately trying to think of an excuse to give to Eddie as to why he hadn't responded to any of his calls or texts. Every excuse he had come up with had sounded good in his head, but when he practiced saying them out loud, he himself didn't even believe them, so how was Eddie going to?

He needed to come up with something and fast.

By the time he had thought of something to even say, not knowing if it was going to work or not,, he was pulling into the drive of the house and saw that the lights were still on.

He knew that Eddie was waiting for him.

It had taken him a full 5 minutes to get out of the car and walk up to the door.

He opened the door and dropped his duffel bag and turned to lock the door behind him.

He walked into the kitchen and saw that Eddie was sat at the table, arms crossed against his chest, staring with all he could at Buck.

"So, you are alive then. You know, it would've been nice to have known that instead of every single one of my calls and texts going unanswered." Eddie had said, eyes mixing with worry and anger.

Yeah. Eddie was mad.

"I was worried that something had happened to you."

All of Buck's excuses flew out of his head.

"I'm sorry." Buck said as he sat opposite Eddie.

"Is that all you have to say? Sorry?" Eddie had begun to shout.

Luckily for them, Chris was at a sleepover tonight at Tia Pepa and Abuela's house, so he was not here to listen to Eddie shout.

"Our shift ended almost 4 hours ago, Buck. You practically disappeared because no-one knew where you were, let alone where you were actually going. I have been out of my mind with worry. I was starting to think someone had kidnapped you." Eddie shouted as he stood up abruptly.

"And the first thing you say is sorry? How about picking up the goddamn phone and telling me where the fuck you were for starters so that I knew that you were safe and didn't have to worry."

Tears were now beginning to blur Buck's vision. He hadn't meant to make Eddie worry or to make him mad. He was now very much deeply regretting not picking up the phone when Eddie had called him. It was the least he could do.

"I should've picked up. I was at Bobby and Athena's. I should've told you, I'm so sorry that I didn't. I didn't mean to make you worry, it's the last thing I ever want to do and now you're mad at me." Buck said, voice starting to crack.

He didn't look at Eddie, just stared at the table.

He heard Eddie sigh.

"I'm not mad at you, Buck. I should be, maybe I am a little bit but it's because I care. I was mostly worried and scared. You didn't tell me where you were going. Is there something going on that I should know about?" Eddie asked as he sat down next to Buck.

He debated on telling Eddie the truth about what he was feelings, but he couldn't. He just couldn't ruin anything.

Instead, he had opted to say something different.

"Nothing I can't figure out." Is literally all he could say.

"Are you sure?" Eddie asked.

"Yeah, I'm sure."

Eddie didn't believe a word that Buck had just said and Buck knew that, but right now, in this moment, he didn't know what else he could say.

"You know you can talk to me about anything, right? Anything that has been troubling you." Eddie said.

Buck had knew that. He's always known that. It's one of the reason why he fell in love with Eddie in the first place.

"I know that, Eds. I just can't tell you the one thing I really want to tell you just yet. Maybe one day." Buck said as he turned towards Eddie.

"Okay. Is it good or bad?" Eddie asked.

"Depends on how take it, really." Buck said as he stood up to go and dressed for bed.

Eddie didn't say anything to that, confusion just taking over the look on his face.

Eddie knew that Buck was lying. He has always known when Buck was keeping something from him. Like right now, he knew Buck has been keeping something big from him, because why couldn't Buck just tell him what was going on. They have not kept secrets from each other for a long time, so why start now?

Eddie knew that he needed to figure out what Buck was hiding from him.

Yeah, Eddie had a huge secret he's been keeping from Buck, something that could potentially jeopardise the friendship that they have. Eddie was in love with Buck. He has been probably since the first time they had ever met, but he had never truly realised it up until a few years ago, when he thought he had lost Buck after he was struck by the lightning. Well, he did. For about 3 minutes and 17 seconds. Not that he was counting.

Those 3 minutes and 17 seconds were one of the absolute worst times in his life. Not knowing if Buck was going to make it out alive, especially when he was in the coma. Not knowing if he'll be able to talk to him again. When Buck came back around, he knew he never wanted to go through that again. That's why he is afraid of telling Buck his most truest feelings. He doesn't want to lose him.

-

2 Weeks Later-

Phone Call with Maddie.

"Is everything okay, Buck?"

"What do you mean?"

"You've been off the past few weeks. You're even avoiding Eddie at times and don't say that you are not, I know you are. Everyone at the 118 knows too. So, what's going on? I want the truth."

Buck knew that his sister could see straight through him without even being in the same room as him and she had always known when he was lying, so there was no point in lying now. He's done enough of that already.

It's time to be honest with someone about how he truly feels about Eddie.

"A while ago, I had finally let myself believe in something that I hadn't wanted to believe in for the longest time. It's probably been one of the most difficult things thats been happening lately and right now, I'm not sure how I can face that. It's been nagging away at me for the last few years and I didn't want to let myself believe it because it's something that has no possibility of ever happening, no matter how much I want it to happen and it's the reason why I've not been doing great recently and the reason why I have been avoiding Eddie."

"Okay. What is it you finally let yourself believe?"

"That I'm in love with Eddie. That I want absolutely everything in life with him, even though it's never going to happen because he's straight and would never even look at me that way. I love him so much it hurts. It hurts having to come home everyday living with the one thing I know I'm never going to get. I have been trying to push those feelings away but they never seem to go away because they are just always there. Everytime I look at him. Everytime I see him with Chris and when I see him with Jee and Nash. I have been avoiding him because he can never know. I just don't want to lose him or Chris over this." Buck hadn't realised he was crying until he was wiping them away.

"Oh, Buck. I'm sorry that you have been dealing with all of this on your own for so long. You could've told me about it, but you can't keep avoiding him. You live with him. You need to be honest with him about how you feel because you never know what could happen."

"Mads, I can't tell him. Not yet anyway. Right now, I just need some time to work through it and focus on finding a new place."

"Wait, you're moving out?!" Maddie asked in disbelief.

"I can't keep staying here when I know everything could possibly be ruined because I couldn't help but fall in love with my best friend. I need to find somewhere new and I need to try and get over Eddie because I don't know how much longer I can go on. I need a fresh start."

"Have you even told Eddie that you're moving?"

"Not yet. We've been really busy with shifts, so I haven't had the time to say anything."

"You need to tell him soon. Preferably before you find something."

Buck knew that Maddie was right, he needed to break the news soon.

"I know. I think I might try tonight. Chris is at Hen and Karen's for a sleepover with Denny."

"Good. I just can't believe you're doing this."

"I have to, Maddie. It's an alternative to getting my heart broken."

"Okay. Let me know how it goes then."

"I will. Love you."

"Love you, too."

They hung up and Buck sighed as he put his phone down beside him.

He never wanted to move out but he felt that he had to. He just couldn't keep coming back to this house, feeling the way that he does and knowing the outcome could result in heartbreak, he needed to do this.

30 minutes later he was in the kitchen, finishing up his and Eddie's dinner when he heard the door open, signalling that Eddie was back from dropping Chris off at Hen and Karen's.

"Hey, I'm back." Eddie called out.

"In the kitchen." Buck replied.

Eddie walked in.

"Smells good in here. What are you making?" Eddie asked as he began to set the table.

"I thought that I would make your abuela's enchiladas. We haven't had them for a little while." Buck said as he plated everything.

"One of my favourites. Can I ask what all of this is for?" Eddie asked as Buck gave him his plate.

Buck knew that making one of Eddie's favourite meals would come with a few questions, especially when it was just the two of them.

He needed to break the news that he was moving out and he needed to do it now.

"I have something to tell you and I thought that making a meal that you're comfortable with would hopefully soften the blow or something like that, I don't know." Buck said as he sat down.

Eddie's eyes were now full of worry and he was suddenly feeling anxious.

"Okay. Does this have to do with with what you were going to tell me one day?" Eddie asked as he put his fork down.

"No, it's something else." Buck sighed.

"Okay. What is it?"

Buck couldn't look at Eddie as he said what he was going to say.

"I have been doing some thinking about this but I wanted to tell you that I'm moving out. Not just yet, I'm looking for a place." Buck said, voice low, but still clear enough for Eddie to hear.

"What?" Eddie asked quietly.

"I'm looking for a new place. You and Chris need your own space and I'm taking up some of that, so I think it's time I got my own place."

Buck knew that most of what he just said was a lie, but what else could he say? The full truth and potentially end up breaking one of the best friendships he's ever had? He couldn't.

"Oh." Is all Eddie could say. He felt his heart breaking into a million pieces at Buck's statement. He felt tears pricking at his eyes, refusing to let them fall. He was not going to let Buck see him cry.

"Is that what all of this is? Was this dinner just a pity dinner to possibly help with the fact that you are leaving? What kind of person makes a dinner to help soften the blow because they are moving out of the home they belong in? Did you not think that of the fact that you would be leaving Chris? Did you stop to think about how this would affect him? Did you?" Eddie shouted as he stood up, food forgotten.

He knew he was being harsh, but the sudden burst of anger he was feeling couldn't be helped at this moment.

"Eds-"

"No. He would never want you to leave him, so why would you?" Eddie exclaimed as the tears he desperately tried to hold in began to fell.

He couldn't stay in the kitchen and look at Buck any longer, so he left the table and went to his bedroom, the one he coincidentally shares with the other man.

He climbed into his side of the bed and started to sob into his pillow.

After what felt like hours of crying but was only 30 minutes, his phone buzzed.

Hen: Heard about Buck potentially moving out from Chim. You doing okay?

Eddie: Not really. Feels like my heart is being ripped out of my chest and there's nothing that I can do about it.

Hen: Why have you not told him that you love him yet? And as crazy as this sounds, maybe it would stop him from wanting to move out.

Hen had been the only person, besides Chris of course, that Eddie had told about his feelings for Buck.

Eddie: I can't tell him, Hen. I just know that my heart will get broken either way and I really don't want that, so it's better to just ignore it.

Hen: You need to tell him, Eddie. How are you going to know that your heart will be broken or that something won't happen if you don't try?

Eddie: It doesn't matter, Hen. He seemed to really want to move out, so I'm going to let him do what he wants.

Hen: You are one stubborn man, Eddie Diaz.

Hen knew that Buck and Eddie were in love with each other, so did everyone else. It was completely obvious to everyone, but clearly it wasn't obvious enough to both Buck and Eddie.

So, she's been left with no other choice.

It's finally time to begin Operation Get The Two Idiots Together.

Group chat with Hen, Bobby, Athena, Maddie, Chimney, Karen, Ravi, May and Harry.

Title- Operation Get The Two Idiots Together.

Hen: Guys, it's time. It's been a long time in the making. I have suffered enough since Eddie told me he was in love with Buck. They're obviously not going to tell each other they're in love with each other anytime soon. So we need to do something and fast.

Maddie: Finally.

Chimney: About time!!

Ravi: Thank God!! I can't take it anymore.

Karen: I have been suffering too. It's about time we do this.

May: Oh my god, it's happening!!

Harry: It's torture working with them.

Athena: I love my other son but he really is an idiot.

Bobby: I already have paperwork somewhere for them, I have been waiting a long time for this.

Karen: So, what's the plan?

Chimney: We could lock them up in a cupboard.

Hen: No, Chim.

Bobby: I have to agree with Hen, we can't lock them up in a cupboard.

Chimney: What? It's a good idea.

Maddie: I love you, but you are not locking my brother in a cupboard.

May: I agree.

Harry: Me too.

Maddie: We could do something with the kids. I know everytime Buck sees Eddie with Jee and Nash, he lights up, his whole face melts and he has the biggest smile on his face and I'm pretty sure he falls in love more and more everytime.

Hen: Okay, that actually sounds good. We could get them to babysit the kids, so they both can see the other with them.

Chimney: Okay, yeah. I'm on board with that.

Karen: We could tell them that we haven't been on a date night in a long time because we've been busy with kids and work and we need someone to babysit.

Maddie: Yes, but we can't just get them to babysit, we need to do something else as well. We can't just be using the kids, we need to have an actual plan.

Athena: Why don't we all think of something to do over the next few days and come back when someone has one that we can use?

Over the next few days at work, Eddie had not been talking to Buck, mostly avoiding him all he could, except when they were on calls, but other than, nada. After what happened in the kitchen the other night, he just didn't want to face Buck. He was hurting too much. Buck had been staying at Maddie's for the last three days, and he had told Eddie what he was doing, but got nothing back from him.

Buck had tried to talk to Eddie, but everytime he came anywhere near Eddie and started to say something, Eddie would walk away and focus on something else. Buck knew he fucked up in a way, he just didn't know why.

"We need to do something and fast. I can't take the tension anymore. Being near them feels awkward because they won't talk." Ravi says, walking up the stairs to the loft.

"I know, but no-one actually has a plan yet." Hen said back.

"Wait, we could use Maddie's idea first. Get them to babysit the kids. That'll get them to talk to each other, won't it? Because they'll need to talk to each other anyway. What do you think?" Ravi asked as they sat at the table.

"Yeah, that should work in getting things rolling." Hen said, pulling her phone out of her pocket.

Operation Get The Two Idiots Together-

Hen: Guys, we are going to start with Maddie's idea of getting them to babysit to start things off. Right now, they are barely talking and things are not going great, so Ravi brought up Maddie's idea because if they're babysitting, they need to talk to each other because it'll just be weird if they don't. So, that's what we're going to do.

Maddie: Finally, anything to get him out of the house. I love my brother, but he can't sleep on my couch anymore.

Chimney: He's been great with the kids, don't get us wrong, but he needs to go home.

Karen: Okay, so when should we ask them to babysit?

Hen: Tomorrow? We're all off for the day and we could say that we want to do a kid free date day, or something like that but couldn't find a babysitter in time.

Chimney: Sounds good to me. Me and Maddie have not had one in a while.

Maddie: Okay, who's asking them?

Hen: Me and Chim can ask them together in a few. They'll be coming up before dinner anyway.

Karen: Okay, let us know what they say.

Chimney: Will do.

Hen put her phone away and looked at Chim who was sat across from her, nodding her head, signalling, let's do this.

They had waited 10 minutes before either of them came upstairs and sat at the table.

"Hey Buck, Eddie? Me and Chim were talking earlier about what we were doing tomorrow and we both wanted to take Karen and Maddie out for the day without the kids and we can't find a babysitter to take them, so we were just wondering if you'll both take the kids. It's only for a few hours, at most." Hen says.

"You would be saving us, literally." Chim added.

"Uh...sure. I guess we can. we'll be glad to help." Eddie replied.

"We have a few things for them at the house anyway and I'm going to the store tomorrow to get some groceries, so I'll probably get something else for them." He then added.

"Uhm, yeah of course. We'll be happy to do that." Buck then said.

"Thank you so much, you are both lifesavers. I'll be happy to repay the favor and take Chris for a night or two in the future, if you ever want a night by yourselves." Hen said, getting up to give both Buck and Eddie a hug.

"It's not a problem at all and I'm sure Chris will be happy to have another sleepover." Eddie says, returning the hug.

Operation Get The Two Idiots Together-

Chimney: It is on. They both said yes.

Maddie: Great. Hopefully by the end of tomorrow, they'll be back to somewhat normal.

Ravi: I hope so too.

Athena: We hope so, too.

Karen: How have they been at work anyway?

Ravi: Awkward as hell.

Harry: They never talk to each other as much as they used to.

Chimney: They never sit next to each other at the table anymore, especially in the truck.

Hen: It's just off.

Athena: That bad?

Hen: Yeah. Like you wouldn't believe. You could cut the tension with a knife.

Speaking of the aforementioned tension, though you could still cut it with a knife, it kind of eased up a little bit.

The rest of the shift goes by a little less awkward than it was before.

Buck still went back to Maddie's that night.

"Uncle Buck?"

"Yes, Jee-Jee?"

"Why do you not want to live with Uncle Eddie anymore? Do you not like him?"

Buck had not expected that question to come from his niece when putting her to bed.

"It's not that I don't want to live with him anymore, it's just Uncle Eddie and Cousin Chris need their own space and I'm probably taking up some of that because I'm messy." Buck replied.

"Does moving out mean you don't like Uncle Eddie anymore?"

Buck felt his heart drop at that. It wasn't just everyone around him noticing the distance between him and Eddie, it was the kids as well.

"No, of course not. I'm always going to like Uncle Eddie. He's the bestest friend I've ever had."

"Do you love Uncle Eddie, like mommy loves daddy?"

"Yeah, I do. A lot."

Tears were now threatening to come out of his eyes. Buck really had not expected this tonight, especially the night before he was due to spend all day with the man in question.

He shook off the tears and continued to put Jee in bed.

When he noticed that she had drifted off to sleep after reading her a bedtime story, he quietly left her room and made his way to the living room where Maddie and Chim were.

"I thought you guys were going to bed after putting Nash down." He said, sitting on the couch opposite them.

"We were, but we overheard you with Jee." Maddie said, turning to look at Buck.

Oh. Buck knew he was about to get the big sister talk.

"How much of it did you hear?"

"Pretty much all of it." Chim said as he sat up straight.

"Evan, you need to tell him the you love him. Not telling him is only going to hurt you more down the line. I'm not asking you to do this, I'm telling you to do this, because right now, you are both as miserable as each other adn it just might get worse if you don't talk." Maddie said as she walked over to sit next to Buck.

"But what if I tell him and he doesn't feel the same way. My heart is already breaking enough. I can't let it break anymore, I just can't." Buck said as warm tears began to cascade down his cheeks.

"If you don't say anything to him, Buck, how are you going to know that he doesn't feel the same?" Chim asked.

Buck didn't say anything else after that. He knew in some way that Chim was right. He would never know if Eddie felt the same way he does if he didn't talk to him.

But first, he needed to get through tomorrow before he could say anything to Eddie.

"We'll be here if you need anything, Buck. Always." Maddie said as she gave Buck a side hug.

"I know, thank you." Buck said, his voice breaking.

He felt Maddie gently rubbing his back, just like she did when they were younger.

"I'm going to call Bobby tomorrow and see what he thinks. I know he'll be supportive but I just really need to have this conversation with him."

Both Maddie and Chim nodded in agreement.

"It's getting late and you have a long day babysitting tomorrow, so you need to sleep and as much as me and Chim love having you here, you're going home tomorrow as well." Maddie said as she and Chim walked to their bedroom.

As much as Buck wanted to stay with his sister, she was right. He had to go home at some point and he knew that, for however long that may be.

-

Buck didn't get much sleep at all.

He had tried but his mind wouldn't shut off. Thoughts of telling Eddie and it going the way he wanted it to, combined with the thoughts of telling Eddie and it not going the way he wanted it to and as much as he wanted to keep those feelings a secret and never tell Eddie the truth about what he was really feeling, Maddie and Chim were right, he needs to tell him. Preferably as soon as possible.

But first, he needs to talk to his Pops.

He opened the contacts on his phone and clicked on Bobby's.

He answered straight away.

"Hey, kid. You okay?" Bobby asked.

"Hey, Pops. Not really." Buck said back, because right now, there was no point in lying to anyone anymore.

"You're not?! What's going on?"

"I think a lot. I called you because I need your advice."

"My advice? On what?"

"I wanted to know on how you told Mama you were in love with her."

"Well, I can't really remember how I told her, but I just knew that she was the one for me, I knew that she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I knew that she was my reason to keep going, despite everything. I knew she was my one and only. I think that we both knew how we felt but we needed to talk about it first. Why are you asking all of a sudden?"

"You know me so well, so I'm thinking at this point you already know. I just need to know how to tell him."

"You would be right, because I've known for years, Buck. You know, there's never going to be an easy way to tell someone that you love them, it's going to be hard, especially if you have felt the feelings for as long as you have. You just need to be honest with Eddie. I know you guys will be busy with the kids today, but at some point today, you need to think about when you're going to tell him."

"I'm just waiting for the right time."

"There's never a right time, either you do it or you'll be too late. Telling someone you love them is not something you schedule, it can blow up at anytime or it can just come naturally to you. Just don't waste time, Buck, or it'll never happen."

Buck thought about if for a minute and realised, he wasn't really waiting for the perfect time. He's been wanting to tell Eddie for a long time, but he was never able to get the words out, no matter how hard he had tried to force himself to believe that he simply couldn't tell Eddie.

He needs to tell Eddie.

He needs to tell him tonight. He's not wasting anymore time.

"Thank you, Pops. I know when to tell him."

"Anytime, kid. I'm proud of you. I love you."

"I love you too, Pops."

They hang up.

After he got changed for the day, he started on breakfast for everyone.

"Hey, something smells good in here. What are you making?" Chim asked as he walked into the kitchen, carrying a half sleepy Jee-Yun.

"Making breakfast for everyone. I've got eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, a bit of everything really. Oh and I'm telling Eddie I'm in love with him tonight. What would you like?"

"What did you just say? Maddie, get in here!!" Chim shouted.

"What? What's going on? Someone hurt?" Maddie asked as she ran in.

"No, but Buck just said something that I think he needs to repeat so I can be absolutely sure I heard him correctly."

"What did he say?" Maddie asked as she turned towards Buck.

"Go on, Buckley."

Buck stopped what he was doing.

"I'm going to tell Eddie that I'm in love with him tonight. I talked to Bobby on the phone earlier and he helped me realise a few things. I'm done lying to everyone and anyone. I'm done denying myself a chance at happiness."

Maddie ran to Buck and gave him a huge hug.

"I'm so glad you're finally going to tell him. Just please don't make out in front of the kids." Maddie said.

"I would never do that in front of the kids, plus i'm only going to be kissing him if it goes they way I want it to."

"It will, trust. You just need to start believing that."

"We'll see."

They all sat down and ate the breakfast Buck made.

A couple of hours later, Buck was waiting at the door, making sure he had everything he needed, including the kids bags and his own.

"Okay, everything should be in their bags. Diapers, wipes, pacis and a change of clothes just in case things get messy."

"We'll be fine, Maddie. Just enjoy your kid free day."

"I will. Thank you again, for doing this. We really appreciate it." Maddie said as she handed Nash over to Buck.

"It's not a problem at all. We're going to have fun with Uncle Eddie and Cousin Chris, aren't we?" He asked, bouncing Nash in his arms.

"Yeah!!" Jee excitedly shouted, making everyone chuckle.

"Okay, say bye to Mommy and Daddy."

"Bye, Mommy. Bye, Daddy." Jee said, giving her parents a hug.

"Bye, sweetie. Hope you have the greatest day today." Maddie said.

"Call us if you need anything, Buck." Chim said.

"I will. Okay, Jee. You ready to go?" Buck asked as he opened the door.

"Yeah." She said as she ran to the car.

"See you guys later." Buck said as he closed the door behind him.

He put the bags down and put Nash in his car seat before helping Jee into her own. Once he made sure that both kids were strapped in, he picked up the bags and placed them in the trunk.

He closed the trunk and then hopped in the drivers seat to start the car.

Maddie didn't live far from Eddie, so the drive over was only 20 minutes, luckily traffic had been on their side today.

As he pulled up to the house, he saw that Eddie was just getting out of his truck.

He parked his car and got out.

He went to the trunk and got the kids bags out, leaving his own just in case tonights conversation didn't go well.

He got Nash out first and tried to do so quietly because the younger one had fallen asleep on the drive over. After he successfully got Nash out, he placed him carefully in his arms and then he got Jee out.

"Uncle Eddie!!" Jee shouted as she ran towards the other man.

"Mi princesa! I missed you!" Eddie said as he gathered Jee in his arms for a hug.

"I missed you too and Cousin Chwis."

"I missed you too, Jee." Chris said, giving Jee a hug too.

Buck watched Eddie with Jee and his heart exploded with love and warmth.

Yeah, this is home. This is where he's always meant to be even if it took him a while to officially realise it.

"Hey, Buck. I missed you."

He shook out of his thoughts and saw that Chris was walking over to him.

"Hey, superman. I missed you too." Buck said as he gave Chris a hug carefully, not wanting to drop a sleeping Nash.

Eddie took that moment and stared at Buck who had a sleeping Nash in his arms while giving Chris a hug and just melted on the spot. He couldn't help but imagine Buck holding their own baby, with Chris doting on his baby sibling at his side.

Eddie wanted that to happen so much.

He shook off his thinking and got Denny and Mara out of the truck and went to unlock the front door. Once they were inside, he went back out and got the grocery bags of food and little activities for the kids out of the trunk.

"Hey, you need a hand with any of that?" Buck asked.

"No, I got it. Looks like you already got your hands full there anyway." Eddie said as he pointed out that Buck still had Jee and Nash's bags in his hands as well as Nash himself.

"Yeah, I guess so." Buck said as he looked down.

Operation Get The Two Idiots Together-

Maddie: Just thought I should let you guys know that tonight Buck is going to be telling Eddie that he is in love with him, so this is no longer Operation Get The Two Idiots Together.

Chimney: He was so casual with it when he told me this morning, thought I was going crazy for a minute there.

Hen: Finally!!

Karen: I'm so excited!!

Ravi: Peace has been restored. I didn't think this day would ever come.

May: I think I'm going to cry. I'm so happy!!

Harry: About time!! I don't think I can take another awkward shift with them.

Athena: I'm so proud of him, but my protectiveness and mama bear mode will be on at all times.

Bobby: I have the paperwork out on my desk right now as we speak, just waiting for their signatures.

Maddie: You can all actually thank Bobby. He talked to Buck on the phone this morning and helped him realise a few things.

Chimney: Thank you, Cap!!

Hen: Thank you, Bobby!!

Karen: Thank you, Bobby!!

Ravi: Thank you for not letting us suffer anymore.

May: I don't think I've ever been more grateful than I am right now.

Harry: Me neither. Thank you, Bobby.

Athena: I was there when he called. Beautiful words and some amazing fatherly advice. Thank you, baby.

Bobby: You don't have to thank me, but you are welcome.

Maddie: To think all it took to get here was for them to babysit and a phone call.

Chimney: Should have done this sooner.

"Hey, you have anywhere I can put him down?" Buck asked when he got into the house.

"Uhm, put him in the middle of our bed and put the pillows around him so doesn't roll off." Eddie said as he walked towards the kitchen to put the groceries away.

"Okay. Maddie gave me the baby monitors so we can hear him when he wakes up."

"Better than checking up on him every 5 minutes and him possibly waking up when we do."

"Yeah." Buck said as he walked towards the bedroom.

He carefully placed Nash in the middle of the bed and placed his blanket halfway over him and placed a couple of pillows at either side of him.

"Tonights a big night for Uncle Buck. I am going to tell Uncle Eddie that I love him. I'm nervous and scared at the same time." Buck said in a gentle voice.

"I'm just hoping it goes well you kn-" He was interrupted.

"Buck?"

He froze at the sound of Chris' voice.

He slowly stood up from where he was kneeling and grabbed the baby monitors out of Nash's bag. He turned one on and placed it on the nighstand next to the bed.

He left the room with Chris following him.

"I'm guessing you have questions." Buck said in a low voice.

"Not really. I'm just wondering what took you so long to figure it out." Chris whispered.

"Wait. You're okay with this? With me and your dad?" Buck asked.

"I kind of always thought you were dating anyway, but you weren't, so if you want to be with my dad, it's okay with me." Chris said with a knowing smile on his face.

Buck's eyes started to swell with tears.

"Thank you, Chris." Buck said as he gave Chris a hug.

"You're welcome, Buck." Chris said returning the hug.

They pulled apart and walked into the kitchen and saw that Jee and Mara were colouring and drawing pictures, Eddie sitting next to them with a fond smile on his face.

Buck's heart melted at the scene in front of him. He just couldn't help but picture Eddie sat the table with their kids, smiling at them as they were doing some colouring and drawing.

Hopefully after tonight, it will be possible for them.

He was shook out of his thoughts when Jee came running up to him.

"Uncle Buck!! Look at what I drew." Jee said, happily waving her piece of art in front of Buck.

"Jee, you did this by yourself?" Buck asled with a grin on his face, crouching down to Jee's level.

She nodded, a proud look on her face.

"Well, it's beautiful. Can you tell me what you drew?"

"It's me, Nashy, Cousin Chwis, Uncle Eddie and you at the park. Look, you are there holding hands." She said pointing towards the drawings of him and Eddie, where they were in fact holding hands.

Buck's breath hitched, luckily Eddie was distracted, helping Mara with something to notice what was happening. Chris and Denny had already retreated to Chris' room, probably with no doubt in mind, playing video games.

"Oh, Jee. Thank you for this. I will treasure it forever." Buck said, giving his niece a hug.

He stood up with the drawing in his hand and walked into the living room while Jee went back to the table to do some more drawing.

He turned the other monitor on and placed it on the coffee table.

For 10 minutes, he sat on the couch, staring at the drawing. He kept thinking about how smart Jee was. She is still so young and somehow knew from what Buck said last night, that this is what he wanted, more than anything and that is why she drew the picture.

He didn't hear Eddie come in.

"Hey, you okay? You're uh...kind of quiet over there." Eddie said, looking directly at Buck.

"I'm good, just thinking." Buck said, knowing it wasn't the full truth.

"Okay. Anything I should be worried about?"

"No, all okay."

"Okay. Anyway, the kids are hungry. Should we give them a snack for now and just order something for dinner later?" Eddie asked.

"Yeah, sounds good, but I thought you went grocery shopping for the house earlier." Buck said.

"I know, I did, but I don't really feel like cooking, especially when there are a lot of kids in the house. I don't want them near the stove where they could get hurt."

"I hear you. So what are you thinking of ordering later then?" Buck asked, already knowing what Eddie's answer is going to be.

"Pizza, maybe. Everyone likes pizza."

"Nash can't really chew pizza much, he still has little teeth, but we can just cut it up into little pieces so it's easy for him to eat, can't we?"

"Yeah, we can do that."

They stared at each other, neither one wanting to move.

The moment didn't last long as they heard voices shouting from the kitchen.

"Uncle Eddie!! Uncle Buck!! We're hungry!!" Mara and Jee shouted.

They both laughed.

"Duty calls. You coming?" Eddie asked.

"Yeah." Buck said as he followed Eddie into the kitchen.

They walked into the kitchen and Buck saw that the table was now covered in drawings, colouring pencils, crayons and even stickers.

He couldn't help but chuckle at the sight.

"Okay girls, lets tidy this up a little bit and you can have a snack. What would you like?" Buck asked as he helped the girls tidy the table up.

"Can we yoghurt and fruit?" Mara asked.

"Excellent choice." Buck said as he got everything out.

"Hey, do Chris and Denny want anything?" Buck asked Eddie.

"They'll probably settle for a bag of chips and not want anything until later." Eddie replied.

"Yeah, you're probably right." Buck said as he gave the girls their snack.

"Thank you, Uncle Buck." Both girls say.

"You are welcome, girls. Now eat up, you have some more drawing to do, don't you?"

"Yeah!!" The girls cheered.

He chuckled at that.

"Do you want anything?" He asked Eddie.

"No, I'm good, thank you, Buck."

"It's alright. Nash should be up in a little bit, so I should start getting his food ready."

"Okay. How long does he nap for anyway?" Eddie asked.

"45 minutes to an hour most of the time. So should be up in like 20 minutes."

"Where's his food?"

Buck realised that Maddie had put food in Nash's bag and that bag was in the bedroom where he was currently napping.

"Shit. It's in his bag and his bag is in the bedroom where I put him. I don't know if I should slip in quietly and get it or wait until he wakes up. I'm kind of leaning towards the second option." Buck said.

Eddie let out a small laugh.

"Probably the best option, huh?"

"Yeah." Buck couldn't help but let out a small laugh as well.

Eddie missed this. He missed laughing with Buck. He missed talking about little things with Buck. He had thought about it over the last couple of days and realised he was probably overreacting about the whole Buck moving out situation. He had used the anger as a front to protect his feelings which come to think of it, was a bit stupid on his part, but in the moment, anger was the only acceptable feeling as he didn't want to suddenly let out his feelings in the heat of the moment.

Most of all, he missed the person who made him the happiest he's ever felt in a long time. He wanted Buck to stay. He wanted Buck to come home. He knows he's being selfish in not wanting Buck to go, but the heart wants what the heart wants and Eddie's heart wants Buck. Wants Buck to stay with him and Chris forever.

But ultimately, it's Buck's decision and his decision is to move out and Eddie can't really do anything about it, unless he goes along with what Hen said he should do.

Fuck.

That's what he should do, isn't it?

For a long time, he's always put other things and other people before himself and it's time that he stops. It's time he stops pretending that his feelings aren't there.

So, he's going to tell Buck how he feels.

Tonight.

He's hoping that Hen and Karen can take Chris tonight on such short notice.

"Hey, I'm going to make a quick call. You okay for a few minutes on your own?" Eddie asked.

"Yeah, go ahead. I'll be fine." Buck said as he sat next to the girls.

"Okay, I shouldn't be too long."

Buck nodded.

Eddie pulled out his phone as he walked outside, making sure to close the door behind him.

He pulled up Hen's contact and pressed call.

She answered after a few rings.

"Hey, Eddie. Is everything okay? Denny and Mara okay?" Hen asked with worry in her voice.

"Everything is okay. The kids are okay. I called because I needed to ask you something. Well, you and Karen." Eddie said as he leaned against the porch.

"Okay, what is it?"

"Are you both okay to take Chris tonight? I know it's incredibly last minute, but I need to talk to Buck alone."

"Yeah, we can take him. What do you need to talk to Buck about anyway?"

"I'm going to tell him I'm in love with him. You know for a long time, I've always thought of other people before myself and I think it's time I stop doing it. I need to put myself first and my feelings. So, that's why I need to talk to Buck." Eddie said with a sigh of relief.

"Oh, thank god you are finally telling him. I though I would have to bully you into telling him." Hen said as she let out her own sigh relief.

"I know. I thought you were going to bully me into it as well." Eddie said with a laugh.

"Proud of you, Diaz. I'll see you later when I pick up the kids."

"Thank you, Hen. See you later." Eddie said as he hung up.

After the phone call, Eddie needed to take 5 minutes to himself. Just to think about what he was going to do tonight.

He was finally going to tell Buck, the absolute love of his life, that he loves him and wants him to stay in their home for as long as possible and for once, he was allowing himself to want what he wants.

-

Operation Get The Two Idiots Together-

Hen: Guys. I have just got off the phone with Eddie and he just told me that he's going to tell Buck he's in love with him.

Hen: Tonight!!

Maddie: Holy shit!! What?!

Chimney: Is this real?

Ravi: Am I dreaming?

May: I'm actually crying right now. I can't believe it.

Harry: Oh my god, it's really happening.

Karen: They are going to be one hot couple.

Hen: Oh absolutely!!

-

"Hey, Eds. You alright? You're staring at the fence like it's going to give you something that you don't want."

Eddie chuckled.

"I'm alright. Just thinking about things."

"Like what?"

"Random things really. Everything okay in there?" Eddie asked, pointing towards the kitchen.

"Yeah. The girls finished their snacks and are back to drawing. Chris and Denny are still playing video games, but I did tell them they have to come out of the room at some point to spend time with us." Buck said with a smile on his face.

"Let me guess, they didn't say anything, just mumbled."

"Sure did, but I did tell them we're having pizza later, so that got something out of them." Buck said with a chuckle.

"Of course it did. Nash still sleeping?"

"Yeah, but he'll be up in a minute or so, so better go back in before he does."

"Yeah we should." Eddie said as he and Buck walked towards the door.

"Oh, by the way, Hen said she'll take Chris tonight for a sleepover. To repay the favour of course." Eddie said as sat down at the table.

"He'll be happy about that, won't he?"

"Oh, yeah."

Before Buck could sit down, noise came from the baby monitor.

"Sounds like someone is awake." Buck said as started to leave the kitchen.

"Buck, you sit down, I'll get him." Eddie said as he stood up.

"You sure?"

"Yeah, I want my Nash cuddles. Feels like it's been forever."

"It's been two weeks, Eddie."

"Yeah, exactly."

Buck let out a laugh.

"Okay, go and get him."

Eddie made his way to the bedroom to get Nash.

"Hey, Nash boy. What you doing, buddy?"

At the sound of Eddie's voice, Nash, who had rolled over in his sleep, had turned his little head as much as he could and he saw his Uncle Eddie.

"Hi, buddy. Did you sleep good?" Eddie had asked in a baby voice.

Nash gave Eddie the biggest smile his little face would allow.

"Come here. You ready to go and see Uncle Buck?" Eddie said picking him up and settling him in his arms.

"Lets go."

Eddie felt the room with Nash in his arms, but made sure to pick his bag up before he left and made his way to the kitchen.

"Look who it is." Eddie announced as he walked into the kitchen.

Everyone turned to see that Eddie was now holding an awake Nash.

"Hey, little guy. You hungry?" Buck asked in a baby voice, cooing over his nephew.

Nash gave his uncle a small grin as if he was answering Buck's question.

"I'll take that as a yes then, but where are we going to put you? We don't have a highchair for you." Buck said as he grabbed Nash's bag from Eddie, so he could start on making his food.

"I can hold him and feed him." Eddie said.

"You sure? I can take him if he gets messy."

"We'll be okay, Buck. Won't we, buddy?" Eddie said as he looked at Nash who let out a small giggle.

"You might just be his favourite, Eds."

"Well, that just means he has good taste in knowing who his favourite people are."

"He certainly does."

Eddie froze for a second when he heard Buck say that.

He couldn't really think about what Buck had said for too long because he needed to sit down with Nash at the table so he could feed him once Buck had finished making his food. As he sat down, he couldn't help but think about what was going to happen tonight. He was going to be brave for once in his life, he just hoped that Buck would feel the same way.

He was shook out of his thoughts when Buck had put the bowl of food in front him.

"There you go, buddy." Buck said.

Feeding a baby can sometimes come with perks. You get a lot of smiles, uncontrollable laughter as they make a mess and all round cuteness.

But for Buck, the perk was that he got to watch the love of his life with his nephew, his heart melting at the sight and just desperately wanting all of this with Eddie, but he didn't know if Eddie was feeling the same and he didn't know if Eddie was wanting to have more kids.

Tonight he would have the answers.

A few hours later, everyone including Chris and Denny, were in the kitchen eating the many (4) pizzas Eddie ordered.

"Chris, you got your things together?" Eddie asked as he dished out the last few slices of pizza everyone else could eat.

"Yeah, but why am I going last minute? Not that I don't want to go, I'm just wondering." Chris said as he ate his pizza.

"Hen said she would take you for a night or two to repay the favour of us babysitting last minute."

"Okay."

"What time is Maddie coming for Jee and Nash?" Eddie asked Buck.

"I think she said around 6:30. It's closer to their bedtime anyway. Probably makes it easier for them to settle the kids."

"Okay, so about half an hour?"

"Yeah, we should probably start getting their things together once we're finished with the pizza."

"Okay, Hen said the same, so they should be on their way soon." Eddie said as he started to clear the pizza boxes away from the table.

"Looks like Nash enjoyed his pizza." Eddie said as he looked at Buck who was cleaning Nash's face.

"He sure did, even though some of it managed to fall on the floor. Sorry about that, I'll clean it up."

"Don't worry about it, Buck. All babies do it. I'll clean it up once I've put these boxes in the trash."

"Okay. I'll uh...start getting the kids ready."

"Okay."

As Buck got up from the table, Eddie put the pizza boxes in the trash and then went to clean the bits of food that Nash had dropped.

By the time everyone was all sorted and ready, it was almost time for them to be picked up.

"You guys ready to go home?"

"We don't want to go home. We want to stay. We've had the best day ever." Jee said sadly.

"Oh, mi princesa. We want you to stay too, but you can come back soon and maybe you can stay for the weekend. How does that sound?" Eddie asked.

"Can we?" Jee asked.

"Of course you can. We would absolutely love to have you for a sleepover. We just have to ask your mommy and daddy first, okay?"

"Okay."

After another 5 minutes, knocks came from the front door.

"Okay, kids. Time to go." Buck said as he opened the door to Maddie and Hen.

"Hey, guys. How have they been?" Maddie asked.

"They have been great. We drew a lot of pictures, had a few snacks and had pizza. They had a lot of fun today."

"I'm glad they did. So, what are your plans for the rest of the night, Buck?" Maddie asked with a knowing smile.

Buck glared at his sister.

"Nothing much, just hanging out with Eddie. Probably drink a couple of beers, eat some leftover pizza and watch a movie." Buck said as he handed the kids bags and Nash over to Maddie.

"You get the car seats out of my car?"

"Yes. Thank you for giving me the spare key."

"It's no problem. Jee said she wanted to stay, didn't want to go home, but Eddie had promised her she could have a sleepover sometime soon, as long as that's okay with you and Chim."

"Yeah, that should be no problem. She loves staying here."

Eddie appeared at the door with Denny, Mara and Chris.

"Hey, you guys ready to have another sleepover again?" Hen asked.

"Yeah, we're so excited." Mara said as she walked outside to join Hen.

"Thank you again, guys for doing this so last minute, we really do appreciate it." Hen said as she took Chris' bag from Eddie.

"It's not a problem at all. We love having them here." Eddie said.

"Well, we should get going. It's nearly time to put these two in bed." Maddie said, making sure she had everything, including both kids.

"So should we. There's a movie and popcorn waiting for us when we get back." Hen said.

Buck and Eddie said their goodbyes to the kids with lots of promises of doing this again at some point. They waited outside until both Maddie and Hen's cars drove away from the house before going back in.

"Hey, you want a beer?" Eddie asked as he moved towards the kitchen.

"Yeah, thanks." Buck said as he sat on the couch.

While he waited for Eddie to come back into the living room, his phone buzzed.

It was a text from Chim.

Chimney: Good luck tonight, Buckaroo. Hope it goes well.

Buck: Thank you, Chim. I'm hoping it goes well too.

Chimney: I'm rooting for you. Now go and get your man.

Buck: Okay, I will.

Buck put his phone away just as Eddie came back.

All of a sudden, the nerves hit him, reminding him of what he was going to do and Buck tried to not let Eddie see it, but of course Eddie noticed it straight away when he handed Buck his beer.

"You okay, Buck?" Eddie asked, concern etched on his face.

"Y...yeah, I'm fine." Buck said rather shakily.

The nerves were literally taking over his body, trying to stop him from getting his words out, but Buck needed to ignore them because the longer he waited to tell Eddie the truth, the more it was going to eat at him.

"Actually, I need to say something, because if I don't, I'm probably going to burst." Buck said as he put his beer on the coffee table in front of him.

"Okay. What is it?"

Okay. This is it. He was going to tell his best friend the he is in love with him.

He can do this.

"So, recently or not so recently, I discovered something and it's been hard to keep it in because I have been wanting to tell you this for so long but I was just scared and I thought that I was waiting for the right time, but Bobby made me realise that there was never going to be a right time, either I do it, or I don't." He started.

"Okay, Buck. You're kind of scaring me."

He took a deep breath and started to let out what he has held on for so long.

"Eddie, I'm in love with you, like so in love with you. I figured it out a while go but I couldn't tell you the truth because I was so scared of possibly ruining our friendship. I know you probably don't feel the same but I had to tell you because I couldn't keep it in any longer."

Eddie couldn't believe what he just heard Buck say.

Buck was in love with him and he was in love with Buck!!

Eddie knew that he had to say something or Buck would think he was ignoring him.

"You're in love with me?" Eddie asked quietly.

"Yeah, I have been for a long time now and I know that you are straight-"

"Buck-"

"and I understand if you don't feel the same-"

Eddie put his bottle on the table and grabbed Buck's face with both hands.

"Buck, look at me when I say this."

Buck looked at Eddie for the first time since he started talking.

"Buck, I'm so in love with you too. I too have known for a long time but I had to first accpet that I was gay, like really gay and I had to tell Chris as well and while I was figuring that out, I realised that I was so stupidly in love with my best friend and it was actually when you were struck by lightning that I realised. I didn't want to tell you because I was so scared that I would lose you and when you told me that you were moving out, I was really heartbroken because, Buck, I don't want you to go. I want you to stay here with me and our son." Eddie said, eyes glistening with tears.

He looked at Buck who was already crying.

"You love me too?"

"I love you so much, Buck and I want to have everything in life with you. If you'll have me?"

"God, yes. I have wanted that too, for so long."

Eddie placed his hand in Buck's and laced their fingers together.

"Can I kiss you?" Buck asked.

"Please." Eddie replied, voice low.

He leaned in closer to Buck, who met him halfway.

They didn't know who leaned first but all of a sudden, lips were on lips.

Buck's hands were on Eddie's hips as Eddie's hands were now in Buck's hair, kiss growing deeper. Buck moaned into the kiss as he felt Eddie's hands lowering down his chest and onto his thighs.

Eddie's hands started to rub up and down Buck's muscular thighs when he pressed his tongue against Buck's lips. Buck opened his mouth slightly and Eddie dived his tongue into Buck's mouth. Eddie deepened the kiss as his tongue grazed Buck's.

Without thinking, Eddie let go of Buck's thighs and gripped his shoulders so he could use them as leverage when he climbed into Buck's lap. After he settled into Buck's lap, he felt hands moving from his waist, down his lower back and then he felt them on his ass.

Regretfully, he pulled away to get some air, Buck chasing after for more.

"How about we continue this in the bedroom, Buckley?" Eddie asked as he nipped at Buck's lips, wrapping his arms around Buck's neck.

"Took the words right out of my mouth, Diaz."

Buck stood up, hands still on Eddie's ass, holding him up and Eddie, upon instinct, wrapped his legs around Buck's waist.

"Fuck, Buck. That was so fucking hot."

"Yeah? Would you like me to do that again?"

"Fuck yeah, I do. Now hurry up and take me to the bedroom because I want you to fuck me." Eddie said as he attacked Buck's mouth with his.

Buck groaned into the kiss as they made their way to the bedroom.

Buck dropped Eddie onto the bed, lips still connected as he loomed over Eddie.

Eddie's hands travelled down Buck's chest to the hem of his shirt. He instantly pulled at the hem, wanting Buck to take the damn shirt off.

Buck let out a laugh into the kiss as he felt Eddie pull at his shirt.

"So impatient, Eds."

"Shut up, Buckley and take your damn clothes off so I can see that beautiful body and dick of yours."

"Fuck, Eddie. You going to do the same for me, baby?"

"Hell yeah, I am. I'm not waiting a minute longer, I have waited long enough."

Buck got up off Eddie and stripped his clothes and his underwear off in quick speed, not taking his eyes off Eddie, who was now lying on the bed, fully naked.

All Eddie could focus on right now was the most beautiful sight he had ever seen. Buck in all his naked glory. Eddie's eyes started at Buck's flushed face and dark eyes, before they travelled down Buck's chest and took focus on the tattoos that were displayed on his body. Then his eyes travelled further down, to the v-line which lead to the glorious sight of Buck's hard cock.

Buck noticed where Eddie was now looking.

"See something you like, Eds?"

"Fuck yeah, I do." Eddie said, eyes dark, dick hardening more than he thought it could.

"Where would you like me to put it? Mouth or ass? Take your pick."

"There's lube in the bedside table and condoms, but I kind of want to feel all of you inside of me. Is that something you would like to do?"

"Fuck. I want to feel all of you too, with no barriers. But I need to prep you first, baby." Buck said in between kisses.

Eddie couldn't help but whimper at the thought of Buck's fingers inside of him.

"Buck, hurry up or I'm going to take matters into my own and if I do, we won't last long."

Buck hurriedly got up from the bed to grab the lube from the drawer of the bedside table and went back to the bed. He climbed over Eddie and kissed him deeply.

"Legs up and let me see that ass of yours, papi."

Eddie groaned at the pet name as he lifted his legs up, hands grabbing the back of his thighs.

Buck flicked the cap of the bottle and poured a little on his fingers and warmed them up.

"Are you ready?" Buck asked as he placed one finger at  Eddie's rim.

Eddie nodded, in total bliss at the feeling of Buck's finger.

"Words, baby. I need your words."

"Fuck, yes. I'm ready." Eddie moaned.

Buck teased Eddie's rim before pushing in and Eddie could not get enough of this feeling. Why had he waited so long for this? Why did he not allow himself to feel like this?

His thoughts were cut off as he felt Buck press another finger inside him.

"Fuck, you're really good at that."

Eddie started to stroke his hard, neglected dick while simultaneously fucking himself on Buck's fingers and those fingers were hitting Eddie's prostate on every thrust and Eddie let out a series of moans and pleas while Buck pressed in a third finger.

"Buck...p...please."

"Please what?"

"Please fuck me. Fuck me with that huge cock of yours." Eddie begged.

"It'll be my pleasure."

Buck pulled his fingers out and Eddie whined at the sudden feeling of emptiness. Buck climbed over Eddie again and kissed his jaw, neck and left a trail of kisses down his chest and stomach.

"You tell me if it hurts and we'll stop, I promise you. I just don't want to hurt you." Buck said.

"I'll tell you."

Buck poured a generous amount of lube on his hands and coated his dick with it.

Eddie felt the head of Buck's dick pressing against his hole and groaned at the feeling.

Buck guided his dick into Eddie's opening and slowly pushed in, giving Eddie the chance to adjust to his size.

As he felt Buck enter him, Eddie let out a gasp and arched his back off from the bed. He had known Buck was big from the one time he accidentally saw it in the showers at the station, but Buck wasn't hard then. So, this is a whole 'nother level.

Buck pushed the rest of the way in gently, so he didn't startle or hurt Eddie.

"Fuck, Eddie. You're so tight, I don't know if I'm going to last long." Buck said as he bottomed out.

He leaned forwards, hands landing at either side of Eddie's head.

"You better get a move on then."

Buck moaned at that as he started thrusting in and out of Eddie, hips in a circular motion.

Buck leaned down and kissed Eddie deeply as his thrusts picked up faster, hitting Eddie's most sensitive place in every one.

Eddie felt he wasn't going to last long, even though they had started not too long ago, but he guessed they had forever now, right?

"Buck, faster. Please." Eddie moaned against Buck's lips.

And who was Buck to ignore that request.

As he picked up his motion, he moved his hand from next to Eddie's head and wrapped it around Eddie's neglected dick. He started to jerk off Eddie's dick at the same of speed of his thrusts. He felt Eddie squirm underneath him, seemingly close to the edge.

"Fuck, Buck. I'm going to...I'm going to come." Eddie said breathlessly.

"Fuck, me too, Eds. Come for me and I'll fill you up with mine."

Buck continued to jerk off Eddie as he came hard, spilling out on his hand and Eddie's chest. It wasn't long after Eddie came that he too was over the edge, filling Eddie up with every last ounce.

Once he stopped, he collapsed on top of Eddie.

"Fuck, I can't wait to do that again." Eddie said sleepily.

Buck laughed at that.

"Well, we have all night tonight and tomorrow off." Buck said.

"I can't wait."

"We're not going to be able to keep this a secret for long, are we?" Buck said as he moved off from Eddie and settled next to him on the bed.

"Not really. Do you want to tell Maddie?"

"I probably should or she'll physically try and get it out of me."

Eddie laughed at that, knowing that Maddie will try anything to get a secret out of Buck.

Buck got up from the bed to grab his phone from the pocket of his pants and as he was making his way back to the bed, he dialled Maddie's number.

She picked on the second ring.

"Buck? Why are you calling me at this hour?"

"I need to talk to you about something. Do you have a minute?" Buck asked as he put his phone on speaker.

"Yeah, is everything okay? Did something happen?" Maddie asked worriedly.

"Yes and no."

"What do you mean by that? Buck, what is going on?"

"Well, I wanted to formally introduce you to my new boyfriend."

"Wait, I'm your boyfriend?" Eddie asked excitedly.

"Yeah, you are." Buck replied happily.

There was a beat of silence until a scream was heard from the other end of the phone.

"OH MY GOD!! You actually told him?! And now you're together?!"

"Yes, I did. I finally told Eddie that I'm in love with him and he told me he felt the same."

"Oh my god. I'm so happy for you both, but jeez, it took you a long time."

"We know, but we are happy that we finally got here though." Buck said as he looked at Eddie, a grin on his face.

"Yeah, we are." Eddie said, returning the same smile to Buck.

"You're going to be worse now that you're together, aren't you?" They heard Chim ask.

"You'll see, Chim. Don't you worry." Buck said with a smirk.

"I hate you both."

"No, you don't, Chim." Eddie said.

"You know I can't keep a secret, so when are you two lovebirds going to be telling everyone about this?" Chim asked.

"Think we'll tell everyone tomorrow after we tell Chris. He's the most important person we need to tell." Buck answered.

"Yeah, so you won't be keeping it a secret for long, Chim." Eddie added.

"Oh, thank god."

Everyone let out a laugh because they know that one Howard Han cannot keep a secret to save his life.

"Okay, well we're going to let you go and be distgustingly in love and happy together. We love you." Maddie said.

"Love you too, Mads. We'll see you soon." Buck said as he hung up.

He put his phone on the bedside table and turned towards his new boyfriend. Eddie Diaz is now his boyfriend!!

"How do you think Chris will take it?" Buck asked.

"He'll be happy for us. He kept asking me when I was eventually going to tell you that I love you. He was starting to get a little bit impatient with me." Eddie said as he let out a small chuckle.

"I think he will too. He actually told me earlier that if I wanted to be with you, it was alright with him. He had overheard me talking to Nash."

"He did?" Eddie said, eyes starting to well up with tears.

"Yeah, he did."

"I can't believe it took us this long to realise we both love each other. We're complete idiots, aren't we? For not realising sooner." Eddie said as he turned onto his side to face Buck.

"Oh, 100%, but maybe we just weren't ready enough to say anything, let alone explore things. Maybe we just needed that push to finally to get to this point, but I'm happy that we're here and that we waited until we were ready. I've wanted this for so long." Buck said as he turned his head to look at Eddie.

"I love you, cariño. So much."

"I love you too, baby."

They both had tears in their eyes, finally allowing themselves to have this.

"Please stay, don't move out. Stay with me and our son. Please." Eddie begged, tears now falling down his face.

"Of course I will. I don't think I ever want to be away from you now."

"Good, because you're stuck with us forever."

"There's no other place I want to be than right here."

Eddie leaned down and pressed his lips against Buck's. Neither one taking it deeper because this kiss is full of emotion, full of everything they were feeling in the moment.

They pulled away and Eddie laid his head down on Buck's chest, moving closer into his side and Eddie felt Buck's arms wrap around his waist and on his back, pulling him even closer.

"You said our son."

"Yeah, because he is our son. You are as much his dad as I am and you have been ever since we first met. You have done so much for him and with him and he already sees you as his other dad. He loves you so much." Eddie said.

"I love him too and I do see him as my own."

"Would you want to have more kids? Like, do you want to have kids with me?" Eddie asked nervously.

"It's all I was picturing when I saw you with the girls earlier. I was picturing you with our kids, sitting at the kitchen table, drawing pictures of our family, making memories. So, yeah. I would absolutely love to have kids with you. Do you want that too?" Buck asked.

"I was actually picturing it too when I saw you with Nash and Chris. I was picturing you with our baby, Chris at your side loving on his baby brother or sister. So, yeah. I want that too. More than anything."

"When do you want to have kids?"

"Soon, I think. We obviously need to talk about it more, like logistics and we need to figure out whether we want to move into a bigger place, so we have room for our growing family. But yeah, I think soon."

"Soon, then. Why don't we start looking at houses tomorrow after we talk to Chris?"

"Yeah, okay. So, we're really doing this?"

"We're really doing this." Buck said as he planted a kiss on top of Eddie's head.

6 Months Later-

Buck, Eddie and Chris were settled into their new 5 bedroom house. Yes 5. Buck wanted a house that was big enough for all of them and had enough rooms that their future kids would fill.

Currently, both him and Eddie were in the bathroom of said house, staring at the thing that was telling them they were finally going to have the one thing they had talked about for the last 6 months.

"Holy shit, I'm pregnant." Eddie gasped.

Notes:

Thank you for reading Stupid In Love. I know there is probably a lot of stuff that was repeated but I'm not a perfect writer. This is only my second fic, but my first Buddie one. I am hoping to improve on that in the future, so please be kind and patient with me.

I am planning on doing a sequel to this fic, but I don't know when it will be posted, but keep an eye out for it. In the sequel, I will do a flashback on how Buck and Eddie told everyone.

But in the meantime, if you haven't already, please read my other fic, The Way You Make Me Feel.
